Love Ulta Beauty! The associates are friendly and helpful! The shift in the beauty industry is quite amazing. They carry Chanel, Estée Lauder, and so many of the luxury brands and what's interesting is that stores like Neiman Marcus no longer carry these brands. Kind of shocking and wonder what the story is there. It would be great if the stocked more of the brand's assortment. Like Chanel has limited stock on lip products. This store has been updated so much since I first came here. They have plenty of staff to assist you. The area is super clean. I do wish they had more stalls of sponges, brushes etc to try on the makeup. I didn't see any mascara wands for example. Love that they have both luxury products and affordable products. I don't know but I called them 2 months ago and was basically told they had 2 stylists and the girl I spoke with would try and get me in at some point. Not helpful because I work 12 hours a day Monday through Saturday so if I am able to take off it is usually a "last minute" type of appointment I need. Ulta shouldn't advertise all that they do if they can't handle the clients. The 2 times I did get my hair done there the stylists were great. But those 2 are long gone so turnover is very high there. read more

The past several times, I've been in there the only thing they are really helpful about, is alerting you that the store is about to close. They start shutting off 30 minutes to an hour before closing time and lock half of the doors, and then rush you around, trying to get you out of there as quickly as possible. Me and my mom came to get a few skin care items and just wanted to browse with makeup. We can do the bare minimum with makeup so we were struggling a bit trying to find her correct color for concealer. Without having to ask or bother anyone the sales associate Icon (I believe that's his name) came and said please let me help you all because that color is not right LOL! I love that because you need honesty and guidance when it comes to makeup. He was so amazing we ended up getting his information because we want to book him for upcoming events and we thank Ulta for hiring such a phenomenal associate for us to now use in our personal lives. We came there for skincare and left with many items just because of the amazing hospitality and great customer service. My mom is a director for a financial institution so she was gifted with a few virtual gift cards from the company, our cashier was Crissy (wears glasses petite with straight hair) she was so freaking nice and patient with us due to the many gift cards however after scanning the gift cards she accidentally selected cash for the remainder of the balance instead of debit/credit card and she asked for assistance. ********This is why I am giving this store 4 stars. Not because of Crissys mistake instead it's because of the manager (Jacinda or Jacinta). She walked up didn't acknowledge us or speak to us but makes the comment "What's up with all these gift cards?" to Crissy and the other associate who was standing there and she said this loudly in front of us. Not sure what she was insinuating but it was very unprofessional. She then proceeds to try to figure out how to correct the issue. The thing is the entire time Crissy was apologetic because the process took about 35 minutes but the manager was nothing but condescending and constantly belittled Crissy the entire time to the point it made us very uncomfortable and I even felt bad for her. I understand teachable moments but it takes nothing to be kind and take over an escalated issue without embarrassing someone. Crissy apologized non-stop which I understand accidents happen but the kicker is when Jacinda says "Did you even ask them for their ID?" That is very odd because we have never had to show an ID using a debit card in person (totally understand for pick up) also considering the fact we have already been standing there for 20 minutes and already gave our name and contact number before starting the transaction so we could use our points. It came off very distasteful and ruined the incredible experience we had there. To add insult to injury after she corrected the issue (well made Crissy correct it while talking to her as if she was a toddler) she didn't apologize thank us for our patience didn't say anything although we were there for 30+ minutes for this issue. It's shameful when the associates have a better attitude and apologetic behavior than their higher up. The associates are amazing but the manager is definitely a dark cloud and it's honestly sad because we were bragging on the store before she made a small error very uncomfortable for both the employee and customer. However hopefully she sees this review and take the criticism and becomes a better example. With me being a supervisor at a financial institution I understand that mistakes occur but being teachable and patient with your employees is how you grow and learn from mistakes not by belittling, being condescending, and trying to humiliate someone especially in front of customers! read more

I got my hair cut by Flor twice now. The first time I was a walk in and she washed trimmed and styled my long hair. The second time was to correct a bad cut. In a rush I had a hair cut somewhere else where they cut so much and my hair went to waist length to my shoulders blades. Flor looked at it and corrected it while maintaining the length. It's so difficult to find someone who is able to cut and style long hair. I recommend her. Will be seeing her again from now on. read more

I come here for everything and it's where I got my Ulta credit card from. The workers are always friendly and helpful. My kids and I also get our haircuts at the salon. We've been going there for 4 years now and we love it. The prices are good for a salon cut. My five year old loves getting shampooed and blow dried after hair cuts. $25 for a kids cut. The hours are good, store is clean, not too many complaints. The only thing is when I signed up for my credit card they couldn't give me my points and discount and they said they would give it on the next visit because it took time to approve the card but they said no the next time I went. Every time I walk into this ulta I feel uncomfortable. The last time I went I was waiting for someone to help me get an item. I asked one of the employees (male) and he said ok give me a second. I didn't mind waiting but since it looked like he was going to take a while I went and asked another employee (who was just standing there) As she was coming my way he says with an attitude "I told her to just wait". I found that very unprofessional and rude. I try to go to this location since it's closer to me but every time I go I feel a reason not to. Went to this location today for the first time. Customer service wasn't what i expected. I asked for help and i was told to wait, which is fine i understand that it gets busy. But then the same lady was working at the checkout point in the salon area. She was African american, I have an accent, but that has never been a problem. This is probably my fifth time at this ulta and the first time I was not impressed by their service. I was looking around for an acne cream, moisturizer, and serum. I hunted to find someone to help me and when I did he suggested a lot of great products that were super expensive. Told me that it is $40 now or $500 later for botox. I understood what he was trying to say, but it was not very helpful in trying to find products for me. I ended up finding and buying a number 7 serum and cleanser. Also, I bought an acne cream, which I hope will help with the random spots that have popped up lately. At check out I was not treated the best as when I asked about my total--which was $40.99--I was looked at rudely and told that with my coupons and the sale that was my total. When I tried to ask again I was given the same rude answer. Overall I just did not feel like I received the best service, which sucks as Ulta has an amazing selection of products, always had some great sale, and a great rewards program. This Ulta is like most others, as I use their salons for men's haircuts. Even though I've had four different stylists, each one has done a very good job, and they are almost always less than my high end, famous name, person that I use in Highland Park Village. They do not throw product on you expecting you to buy it but they are very knowledgeable when you ask about preferences and the higher end products that they do carry. Still waiting for a bad experience even though some of these alters get bad reviews, but that seems to be on the retail side. I'm so glad Ulta exists with the hair salons because someone is always available at one of the mini locations around me when typically, I have to book several haircuts months in advance to go pay twice as much for a famous named person to do the same haircut that most of the stylist can do. I don't think they get enough credit especially on yelp as most of the reviews are not for the salon, but for the retail portion. I went in during the first day of the 21 days of Beauty by Ulta. My goal was to get both a concealer and a foundation but to be honest, I've never been good at color matching. A lady approached me and asked if I needed any assistance and when I said I needed help with color matching, she had one of her co-workers help me out. Mattias was the person that helped me out so much!! They were the best and recommended me some other good brands that I am totally considering! At the end, I ended up making two trips to this Ulta and they were the same person that helped color match my mom! Usually they have items stocked in their store, the employees are friendly and very helpful, and they have a large selection of great products. I would like to see Ulta carry a few more Organic lines, but that is just me personally, as I know the benefits that Organic products have on skin and aging, and on hair, as well. I don't love their brand of make up and would not buy it. They have a good customer reward system which shows that they value their customers. They regularly give coupons and I am up play subscriber from Sephora and I have their shipping program and I have yet to ever receive a coupon from them so overall Ulta is not that horrible. I also appreciate the mix of drugstore and high-end make up which allows the shopping experience to be more affordable, you can purchase your high-end make up and drugstore make up at the same time. I reached out to corporate about this and they said that the manager at this salon would be reaching out to me. 24 hours after my hair cut, she did in fact reach out to me. She asked me what happened and I was not shy about telling her. She said she never has this issue with Nathalie and isn't sure what happened. I told her Yelp says otherwise (I read some other reviews and have seen her name mentioned). She offered for me to come back for her, personally, to fix it. I declined and just asked to be refunded. She agreed with no opposition. I am grateful for that, HOWEVER, not once did I get an apology for my awful hair. Not a single one. To say I will not be back to Ulta Salon would be a true statement. This was an awful experience and one I have no desire to repeat. Oh, I forgot to mention in my original review due to how upset I was, when I called to make my appointment I was told I would get 20% off since it was my first time. Upon Nathalie checking me out she told me they no longer do that anymore. Okay? I come here for skincare stuff because it's close to home. This location is continually reinforces a Hit or Miss expectation for a visit. Sometimes it's fantastic - happy staff, lots of goodies to be found (okay, bought). However many, many times it's horrible. Rude, perplexingly snotty staff (lol wtf) - not gonna buy anything today, bye (run)! They often have an associate or two that is fantastic. They don't stay long (no surprise with retail). I've never utilized their salon (and never will) so I can't say much aside from noting that the staff look unhappy. I get it though. You get a license to nurture your passion for beauty, get a job at Ulta (or wherever) and you're stifled by corporate crap. I like the variety of products available. I'll keep coming back (enduring the roulette experience) though. Review is worth 3 stars because of convenience, selection, and the handful of friendly associates. read more

I was quite bummed out when I came here. I go to ulta all the time... honestly compared to its competitor, there reward program is the best out there. However the service here was horrible. The lady at the register spent the whole time on her headset having a full conversation with another employee. When I asked her if I could get my bday gift and use my coupon, she said no. That's odd considering I got an email from ulta saying use it now. I interrupted her convo and asked her one more time, she rolled her eyes and said "lemme scan it" then she said "oh it worked" then continued on her headset convo. I shop here all the time for hair stuff and although I've never had my hair done here I always have an incredible experience inside. Their customer service people inside are always so helpful and if I ever have that "I am so lost and I don't know where to find the thing I'm looking for" face, someone always comes to my rescue. I also had a really long conversation with the manager about me being frustrated that they discontinued the large bottles of this shampoo/conditioner I like, and he totally stood in the middle of the story and let me complain, and then he chatted with me about how much it sucked! Talk about great customer service, even though he couldn't fix the problem he cared enough to talk about it. So, lack of specific stock I was look for is like -1/2 star, but overall customer service = Awesome! I do understand the previous review for the actual hair salon, they are very overpriced (partly why they lost a star from 5) and I've heard from others they don't always do the best job. I don't go there for that though, and as far as a beauty supply store goes, Ulta is the best! read more
