Called around 6 pm for an emergency AC issue. They were able to schedule me first thing the next morning, however at 6:30 pm that same evening they called back and said they could send someone over right away. Our Technician Daniel arrived around 8:00 pm and stayed until 10:30 pm working hard to get our system back up and running. Daniel was extremely professional, kind, and knowledgeable throughout the entire visit. It is rare to find someone willing to put in that kind of effort late in the evening to help out a customer. We got fan that failed to notice that inside the batteries cabinet were not to hot so it keep running the fan almost 2 days, we can hear it night and day. So we called Jonas because they have stickers on the other panel cabinet, scheduled appointment and they came to fix it. I had a multi unit Mitsubishi mini split installed less than one year ago and in the past 2 months I've had a number of problems including a refrigerant leak , a defective vane, poor drainage and fans that will not operate in auto mode. Jonas techs have been to my home more than 12 times and the units are still not functioning correctly. I've tried to escalate this issue to the owners but they will not return my calls or acknowledge emails I've sent. I'm so disappointed with Jonas, they are a diamond certified contractor and long time business in Lake County and I expected a much higher level of service and product. read more

The best customer Service and product that I have ever experienced. I have been having ongoing problems with my water heater. I had been trying to keep it going but it finally went out.. of course, right in Winter when it was freezing. It was close to unbearable. Enter Jonas Energy Solutions!! To say that they are a quality company is an understatement. Unparralled product and service. I called .. made an appointment ... they triaged the water heater ... and new water heater was needed. Mixed reviews, and I have used them for service since purchasing my home 5 years ago, but this last service to my water heater/radiant floor heater was subpar and prompted this review since i have called to discuss it with the company and have not reached any resolution. My system is back up and working but still not optimally, with inconsistant water temps, and i have spent $2000 over the past month, taken multiple days off work, been without hot water and heat for days at a time, and threatened by the office staff, with cancellation of my service calls depending who I talked to and which services I would commit to paying for. It started when I scheduled routine maintenance for my system, which was running fine at the time but hadnt had maintenance for a while so i thought i would sxhedule it to get ahead of any issues. A week later after they did maintenance it began getting a yellow standby light and the system was not firing. I called the office and scheduled another appointment and a second tech came out about a week later and replaced a filter that had been skipped during service the week before and the light resolved and the system fired. I was told it was resolved and to check the water. The water was not getting hot. The system was powered down again when they noticed the hot water was not coming inside because it was dumping all the hot water outside. I was given 2 options. A new system for $7000 in a week or two, or they could come the next day for 6 hours and clean the soot out of the stovepipe as it was diagnosed as overheating being the cause. I chose and scheduled the de-soot but ask that he bring a new relief valve as i didnt agree with the diagnosis. (The temp at the bends in the pipe were around 130 degrees which it was explained was excessive and meant heat was not venting adequately. The next morning i called the office to ask that they bring a new relief valve to try that first and they agreed. Hours later i was told the tech was called out for something more emergent, and that they didnt have any relief valves and threatened my appoontment would be cancelled unless i committed to the cleaning. I explained i needed them to fix the system and to still come and if the desoot was the solution then yes i wanted it done. 3 or 4 hours later a different tech was sent and cleaned out the stovepipe for $1200. This did not fix it. He then replaced the relief valve which he DID in fact have, and that DID resolved the issue. I paid and thanked him. I called the office the following day to express my concerns and request a refund for the cleaning, and rather than any sort of apologies or refunds i was written a letter about a month later that suggested i was confused about the process, and nothing has been done to resolve the issue. I am at odds about calling for the current concerns of inconsistent water temps still occurring, because of the way the last service was handled. read more

I called Jonas on the weekend when everybody was off for the holiday. Their answering service picked up and was polite and helpful. When they reopened after the holiday, I called first thing. Their dispatch fit me in with a last minute, same day consultation. I was so grateful. My consultation with Tyler went wonderfully. Tyler is well informed on the heating and cooling systems and good at answering questions. He was thorough with his inspection of the home and made us feel comfortable. I paid over $6000 to have the AC system properly balanced and to fix any leaks. fast forward 6 months later when i went to replace and insulate my attic they never insulated the AC return handlers they replaced. this cost me $4.50 in spray foam cans to get it done correctly. honestly with good conscience i could never recommend them again as they took advantage of my lack of experience at the time and thinking the job they were doing was good. i would tell you to try any of the other local guys. read more

Recently we had a condensation drainage problem with our split AC purchased from them years ago. Johannes (sp) and Larry were dispatched immediately to fix the problem. Overpriced, slow, many excuses, not available for quick or emergency services, full of themselves, not competitive, inflexible, and overbooked. Finally came over, gave high estimate, only willing to sell one brand, no appointments for install for 2-3 weeks. Said they had a "shortage" of installers and servicepeople... If it is as hard to work for Jonas as it is to get help from them, I understand their labor problem... Don't use these guys, unless you like to pay double. Update: There is a "response" from management, once again, they said they had nobody to help due to many people quitting, they say they have been in business a long time: maybe that's true, I had no experience with them... In actual fact, their estimate was nearly $7000, in the end, another company responder more quickly and completed the repair for less than $4000... I can't recommend the folks at Jonas, I needed repairs not excuses, and even with the estimate in hand, they couldn't give me a date within 2-3 weeks, and demanded a 50% deposit up front... Like I said before, high cost, vague and deceptive about timing, and they didn't care about me, much less did they appear to care about the community... Very unpleasant experience. We coordinated a 2 hour window for them to show up. I arranged my day around it. The guy called an hour before to say he was here early. However i was busy. The 2 hour window is what was prepared for. I missed the call. The technician arrived an HOUR early anyways and went racking away on my door. Extremely rude. If the client doesn't answer it's likely they are busy. Showing up early anyways is rude. What if it were a clients lunch break? Instead he woke me and my newborn baby. If you have children you know this is huge. Dogs barking, baby crying, and me scrambling to accommodate him. I made it clear he'd inconvenienced me but I was not rude. He did not apologize, nothing even resembling it. The issue was fixed with all of a push of a button. So over $100 for something they could have told me over the phone the day before while we discussed the issue and set the appointment. I guess I get that part, they have to make money. However the experience was very negative. Maybe they just think we should be happy they showed up at all since customer service seems to have tanked almost everywhere during Covid. Turned up my thermostat this am after not using the heat for 8 months and...nada. Called Jonas (who had installed the unit) and asked if they could give me some advice. They said they would have to send someone out for a diagnostic check ($129.) So they scheduled someone for that afternoon. Jonas called back and said their technician had a cancellation and he could come immediately. Chris arrived 20 minutes later and immediately set to work, checking the thermostat and the unit. He soon found that a small (6 inch) hose had been slightly plugged with debris, which prevented an exhaust valve from operating properly. He removed the hose, ran a piece of plastic down it, put it back in place, and bingo... heat. The entire job took about 10 minutes. The good news is that Chris was fantastic; friendly, knowledgable, efficient. And I got the unit working again about an hour after I called Jonas. The bad news- they charged $129 for the trip, plus $81 for an "unspecified repair"- the 1 minute hose clearing fix. Really?! Chris acknowledged that the charge was excessive, so he also removed leaves from the unit and cleaned it up a bit. In short, Chris earns 5 stars, but Jonas gets 3, for adding a charge that I felt should have been part of the $129 diagnostic fee. IMHO, the $129. fee should cover any "repairs" that don't require parts and can be done within 10 minutes after arriving on the job. read more

After living with a Swamp Cooler for 18 years, we finally scheduled an estimate for a Mitsubishi Split Unit via Jonas. Estimate date came by and I was late, but Taylor was kind enough to wait 20 minutes for me to arrive and he spent good hour advising me on the the unit itself as well as placement and technical questions. He also gave me a great price which was reasonable, fair and accepted. Cricket, on the inside sales team, was wonderful to speak with and the install date was scheduled within a week. The Jonas team arrived at 8AM and finished the job by 3PM. Garett and team were fantastic, we ordered the remote unit so that we can turn the AC on the phone app and instructions were provided and easy to use. The job was perfectly executed and units looked great inside and out. We even signed up for the annual check up on the units. We love the Spilt unit and the install and are ready for the hot and cold days ahead in Clearlake. The lake seems to get hotter each year, so we are ready for a comfortable Summer. Heater was out. 51 degrees inside during the day. Called Jonas. They fit us in that week for a tech visit. Chris, the tech was excellent. Personable, competent, friendly with our dogs. Said he had to order a new motor. Would take weeks. He was unsure of cost. I paid him $124 for the diagnosis. And I ordered the motor. Later that day, Tyler , from Jonas, came over, as I am interested in solar energy options. However, he only wanted to sell me Mitsubishi mini splits. I do not want Mitsubishi mini splits. He got insulting and I kicked him out of our house. Two weeks later I called Jonas to find out when Chris would be installing the motor so we could have heat. Nights had been freezing. Was told they had cancelled the order for the motor. Confounded, I discussed this with the woman, who turns out to be Tyler's mom. She eventually offered to order the part. Said to expect two weeks till Chris could install it. In that time, a family owned local company had called to check on me. Astonished at the wait for a common part, they came over, examined the situation, and returned the next day with a new motor, installed it, plus cleaned up the furnace, plus cost $150 less than the Jonas estimate. I called Jonas to request a refund for the service charge and got a yelling lecture about what a bad person I am. The motor that Jonas said takes them weeks to have shipped here was common--the second company had three in their warehouse in Lakeport, and has a supplier who can ship it to them overnight from Santa Rosa. Oh, and Tyler had been at my neighbors' house, giving them a sales pitch, and our second tech overheard them gossiping about me. Pretty crappy experience with Jonas. Cannot recommend them at all. read more

Seven years ago I got an estimate for these guys to install a Mitsubishi split system in a weekend house I built. I installed a pellet stove in the interim. I wanted AC/heat in the house and contacted them to see if they could do it. Amazingly, they had the original estimate and came out to verify the job. The man who came out remembered the house. They did the job for substantially less than the original estimate. They called to give me a date, showed up on time and did the install in less than a day! The two men doing the job were professional and courteous. The system was explained to me and it worked flawlessly. It is quiet and efficient, even better than I had hoped!
