If you love contemporary pieces, Adler is the designer for you. While modern furniture isn't my style, I do find myself in love with some of Adler's pieces. I found a Talitha console cabinet that was perfect for an entryway in a home. I didn't like the silver accents, and asked if there was a gold alternative. The manager helped me figure out how we can get the accents in gold and shipped promptly... successfully. There was a second cabinet I loved by the Delphine collection, but was unable to get the finishes of the cabinet in a gold accent. Would recommend Adler for service and style ideas! read more

I went into the store, and all I could find to buy was a candle. It helps to like Modernism to understand why this sanitized kitsch sells. I know that it's all supposed to be viewed as accent pieces, and a lot of it is interesting and extraordinarily stylish. The salesgaygoys were pleasant and fun--one of them told me a fun joke. OK, make that another candle. Another joke. OK, maybe I'll buy the dreidel that was on sale. Seriously, it took a gay, Jewish designer to create a cool menorah and a dreidel that doesn't look like a child's toy. I'll be back in when I want to get my "The Jetsons" on. read more

Quick notes on furniture shopping: I first started shopping for furniture for my new chicago condo in nyc for design inspiration and JA was one of the places I went to. They have a very Malibu chic style with an inviting-ness to it. And that made me go back to look again, this time in Chicago. Service was really good and the Lampert range looked really cool. This sofa was my last 2 finalized and while I ended up going with the other one, I'm sure I'll have pieces from here as accent furniture. To earn the 5th star, they'll need to demonstrate execution/delivery/service, which i hope to evaluate soon. read more

HORRIBLE customer service experience. I've never been treated so disrespectfully by another sales associate. Was having a return issue that was completely on them, obviously was upset, and the associate says to me that I "look like I'm getting pissed off" in the most condescending tone. I bought a furniture item at this location but like someone else said below, I wish I had bought it online just to avoid the negative in-store experience... I made a complaint to their headquarters and received no reply, completely ignored. I sent the complaint to this store's manager who replied but there was no apology, only excuses made for the behavior and how the associates did right. read more

The way this place is merchandised makes me want one of everything. Alas, that is not practical, even during the 25% off sale when I darkened the doors of Jonathan Adler. I've been searching on and off for an accent lamp for a living room console and one for a bedroom so made a few laps of the store. David, the sales associate, was kind enough to give me a catalog and even take down some dimensions, so I can see how the pieces might fit in my space. Even though the hunt continues, I walked away invigorated and inspired in the way that only good design can make possible. I did end up purchasing the unique geodes- book ends- to add some interest to my shelves. The accents here look luxe and are fashion-forward and whimsical without being precious. I will definitely be stopping by this store again as an in-person alternative to drooling over the web site and catalogs. read more

I LOVE Jonathan Adler's stuff! It's very modern and very tongue-in-cheek. Where else could you find retro style kitchen canisters that say "Valium" instead of "Flour"? Do go to Jonathan Adler for high end lamps, pillows, and accent pieces. Everything in the store is wonderful and unique. Inject more life into your living space. Stay with them for great customer service! Case in point--I purchased a "Buddha" lamp several years ago and managed to ruin the lampshade. They were able to order me a replacement at a very reasonable price. Even though there was mix-up with my order, I received a new perfect lampshade shipped in a super strong box in no time! Kitsch, kitsch, kitsch. There is only one way to describe the Jonathan Adler brand. It is a very specific aesthetic, and for my taste, a little dose of it here and there really spices things up. I like Jonathan Adler for the fun and whimsy in its products. The very first thing I have of his, the Salvador and Misia vases, were very minimalist in design and material, but they always brought smiles from whomever saw it at my dinner buffet. His Menagerie ornament collection got me inspired to create a 'Tree of Life' Xmas tree. Little ceramic animals in quasi-abstract designs, again, have brought many smiles from folks. It is great too that there are new pieces every year, so I can keep building on the collection. My latest acquisition is the porcelain place setting in a Greek key pattern, in cerulean with platinum accents. The Greek key design is very classic, and also no fuss. I'm not one to go for flowery frou-frou plates. The cerulean blue, against a platinum trim, is elegance with a jolt. Jonathan Adler is also a big supporter of Aid to Artisans. It is an organization that is helping to create economic opportunities for artisan groups in developing countries. A few of JA's product lines are made with these artisan groups. Why 4 stars? People in the style business always say to introduce something to a tableau that gives things a pop. Jonathan Adler is definitely the pop when it comes to home goods. This store in particular, if I have any quips, is that the space is too small and tight for the merchandise. Also, prices are on the expensive side, so it might not have as much mass appeal. But... if you want something whimsical to brighten up your home, I strongly suggest Jonathan Adler. Oh, when you go to the website, read the company manifesto. HILARIOUS! read more

FUN FUN FUN, if you are feeling at all down- make a beeline into this store and you will leave a changed person. The employees greet you, explain anything going on, and leave you to shop the wonderland here. I have bought so many items from this store and still every time I go in the people don't give me the time of day. Most recently I received a lion bank, it didn't come with a gift receipt, however it's jonathan Adler, they refused to exchange the item, and we're very rude. Rude SA acted like I was belligerent child when I was buying a pottery jar for decoration. So rude and unprofessional. The SA also took roughly 5 minutes to wrap up this simple piece of pottery. Save your time and order online. read more

I went to Jonathan Adler to purchase an Alpaca throw I had my eye on tor a while. The salesperson was really helpful, and was patient while I agonized over which color to choose. The throw was actually an anniversary gift to my husband (second year anniversary is supposed to be cotton, its a stretch, but whatevs). He wanted to exchange the throw for another color that was out of stock. They were nice enough to give us a call when the color was back in stock a few months later. never knew this was a pottery place, but i love the practical and modern styles. i have a bathroom set that had an above average price but the look will never go out of style hence it's retro. also the sales girls are very nice. they didn't have the color i wanted and redirected me to the nearest location where i could find what i was looking for. chic stuff. coming back when i'm refurnishing. 4 stars cuz they were low on stuff. read more
