One of the best pork tenderloin sandwiches I have had since moving to Indiana. Good seasoning in the breading and the meat. Portions are huge and an order of fries is sharable. Gets crowded on the weekend but worth the wait. Burger is better than most smash burger places with nice crispy edges. Burger to bun ratio is generous. Great service. The Cole slaw is creamy confetti style, which isn't my style, but still tasty. Fries are nice and come out hot and crispy. read more

Color me credulous. Staffed with shiny, (seemingly) happy young folks, the place puts one at ease. Would you suspect that any one of them would just as soon lie to your face as look at you? I found Jonesy's Junction in recent weeks and have placed orders for pickup a handful of times. This last, I asked, "The breaded tenderloin is on special? Charge me for that, but I don't really want a drink." The young man confidently responded, "Oh, it will definitely be less if you get the sandwich and fries separate." When I got there, I paid right off - as I customarily do. Then, I started looking at the prices. Even for what is posted, I got beat for almost one dollar. ($8.49 vs. $9.35.) What's worse, the subtotal which I was charged was $9.60. (Are they charging $.25 extra for a tomato slice and some pickle slices?) So, then, I asked again - this time in person. The response from the young lady who resembles a shift manager said, "The difference only comes out to a couple of cents." (Not yet mentioned is the additional $.48 tacked on for a "carry out" fee.) They can look you in eye, lie to your face - with a smile /smirk on theirs - and act like it's just another Tuesday. Why though? Are they that hard-up for cash - addicts? Is the rent too d*!n high? Or, is it a sadistic game - how many times can they beat the chump for a dollar - $1.11 to be more precise - before they lose a customer? Are these the kind of people - lying liars - that you would trust with your food? Whose to say they didn't just scoop up that fritter they just accidentally dropped (on the floor) and put it right on your sandwich? Or worse? There are other establishments in Akron and more in nearby towns (Rochester, North Manchester, etc.). Perhaps, such establishments are run with a modicum of ethics? What gripes me is the welfare mom - likely with more kids than wits - who can get stuck in a county jail for months on a shoplifting charge - for a loaf of bread. Then, you have crooks like these - more likely to be lauded and /or lionized for their "business acumen" than they are to ever see one day or night in a jail cell. Sometimes, I wish I had been born anywhere but these United States of Hypocrites. I wish their was a way to give zero stars and still leave the review! read more

Great food for such a little burg! We called ahead to get carry out on our way cross county drive for a Lyle Lovett/Leo Kottke concert in Wabash. BBQ pulled pork was excellent, French fries ranked 5 out of 5. Good road trip food. Will definitely stop there again when I find myself in the burg of Akron Indiana! read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. The food was mediocre at best but that wasn't our issue. The staff began closing early and proceeded to give dirty looks trying to intimidate us into leaving. 20 minutes before closing is when everything began. They turned off the TVs, began stacking chairs on tables and turning off lights. They then turned off the drink machine and took away the tea. An employee then loudly said "we can't sweep there with people" while giving a dirty look. The employee then swept just a couple feet away from where we were sitting. We were extremely disappointed after driving an hour to try this place for the first time after all the glowing reviews. We will not be returning and will be honest about our experience when asked by friends and family. read more

I hadn't been to Jonesys Junction in probably five years when we decided to go the other day. I am so glad we decided to have dinner there it was the best tenderloin I've had in a long time. I had read that it was one of the best tenderloins in the area and they weren't wrong. In true who's your fashion it was quite a bit bigger than the bun, however it was juicy and flavorful and crispy all in all very delicious. The only problem is that they close at 7 PM which makes it a little difficult to get in for dinner if you're young. However, well worth going early or going lunch if that's what it takes. We were very close to closing and they were very generous in letting us order and we took our food to go. If you remember Jones is from the old days it was more of a sit down joint and now it is more of the ordering joint. That was nice because it meant I didn't have to feel bad about trying to go to a sit down restaurant to close to when they were closing. The fries were great too read more

Run, don't walk! Jonesy's Junction is everything wonderful about a small town eatery--great people, simple and delicious food, and priced right! The pulled pork was the best I've had in my life (and yes, I was raised in Indiana.). They have this crazy good white sauce could be put on literally any protein. I WAY overate and had to get my pie to go (highly recommend doing that)! Other diners at my table raved about the famous tenderloins and they looked terrific too. Wow, this place was such a big surprise. Came from Warsaw to try it out and was NOT disappointed! Husband had the hand breaded pork tenderloin and it was HUGE and he said it was moist and delicious. I had the brisket sandwich which was so flavorful and also moist. They have several sauces you can put on it yourself but I felt it standed on it's own flavorwise! The only thing I would have added to it was a nice big slice of raw onion! The fries are thin crinkle cuts and they are generous in the portion. you order at the counter when you walk in and then you take your seat and they bring the food to you. They have a machine where you go get your own drink after they give you the cup. We were told by a customer in there that they also have a buffet on Saturdays and the food they serve changes every week, so we will definitely be putting that into our schedule sometime soon. If you've ever spent much time watching the Cooking Channel or the Food Network, you'll probably get why Jonesy's deserves quite a bit of praise. It is a gem located at the intersection of Highway 114 and Highway 14 in Akron, Indiana. Unlike some other diamond in the rough places, parking is easy and the place is easy to find. As for the food . . . walk up to the counter and prepare to be satisfied on a various levels. The menu is just the right size with great variety, but also not overwhelming. Prices are on point and won't bust your wallet. The food packs a punch both in size and quality, and owner Tim's homemade sauces ("red," "white," and "spicy vinegar") are pure liquid gold. Do you like perfectly smoked brisket or a true Hoosier tenderloin? Do you like flavorful burgers? How about classic chili or homemade pies or milkshakes? Robust onion rings? Standard fries done right? You can't go wrong at this place. It doesn't toot it's own horn or try to upsell you on anything. It simply focuses on the single most important aspect of a restaurant: the food. I really can't decide if the brisket, tenderloin, or burger is the best. The brisket is smoked just right and has a great balance of flavor. Jonesy's clearly has put a lot of time perfecting their smoke time and brisket-ology. The tenderloins . . . wow! They are huge, but even more impressive than the size, these babies are hand pressed and juicy and seasoned just the right amount. These make State Fair tenderloins almost taste like frisbees. And onto the burgers--expect subtlety to permeate the meat and cook of your burger. These have a soft touch yet are bold. How is that even possible? I don't know, but the burger is not something you could ever recreate at home. In fact, I can't think of anything other than the pies or chili you could recreate at home. Every time I visit, I wish I had ordered all three meat options! Also, I'll add in that the atmosphere is just fine. Jonesy's feels spacious even during busy hours and in all of the times I have eaten here, it has been very clean. A few other quick points: Jonesy's does do carry out orders. You can call ahead or just stop by. Service is quick and accurate. Owner Tim is humble and honest and will put you at ease if you see him (most likely you will because he is a hands on owner, which is exactly how I think it should be with local businesses). There are a few other dining options in Akron, but in my mind Jonesy's is the only irreplaceable option, which I guess is why it belongs right where it does given the history of restaurants failing at that particular corner. For now, Jonesy's exists and it speaks for itself. If you are local, why aren't you eating there every week? If you are an out of towner, it's worth the drive, I assure you. read more
