    Shrimp po boy! Yum!
    Katherine A.

This small town diner has the absolute best sandwiches and fries in Indiana. I kid you not. Local friends highly recommended this spot so we stopped for a quick lunch. The place is cute with black and white tiled floors and brick walls located just off the square in Delphi. And it was packed for lunch. We took seats are the counter and watched the chef prepare the hand cut fries. The thin cut potatoes are popped into the fryer right before your eyes. And they are perfectly delicious. Everything is made fresh. The burgers are amazing. I had the shrimp po boy which was immense packed with fried Buffalo shrimp that packed a punch. The rotator and lettuce tamed the heat. The toasted bun was beyond delicious. I want to try every sandwich on the menu as I looked at what the regulars order. The staff is friendly and hustles. They were fun to watch. Amanda, our server, was attentive and kept glasses full. They have a couple tables outside on the sidewalk. There is plenty of free street parking. Simply amazing. I recommend sitting at the counter where you watch the magic happen.

Found my new favorite burger. Fun environment at a typical sandwich shop. Great and friendly service. Can't wait to come back.

The place was full, even outside seating so we took a seat at the counter. It was surprisingly comfortable. A lovely young girl waited on us and she was excellent. She Refilled my husband's tea without us asking and brought extra napkins. She was very young but very good even with the crowd. The food was fine. Correctly cooked and tasty. The one problem and I don't know what they could do about it, it was very hot inside. Between the grill and the weather, we are having. They serve a good burger and very good fries much better than some drive-through.

Food was amazing and the service was top notch. Depending on time of day could be busy and seating is limited.

Food and service was great. The homemade fries are the best. The only negative about this place is the parking.

But I was visiting West Lafayette, and it was morning, and I was feeling a little "under the weather," as my Polish grandmother would say when she went too hard on the Bud Lites the night before. So breakfast at Triple XXX it was, because I could walk there from the Purdue campus, and this restaurant is a West Lafayette institution. I got the Triple XXX Breakfast Special: two over-medium eggs, bacon, fried potatoes and wheat toast. And it was good, you know? It was simple and hearty. I especially liked the fried potatoes. But what really took it over the top is when my server, who was incredibly friendly, told me that she could bring me some root beer jelly to go along with my wheat toast. Record scratch. Say what, lady? Root beer jelly? Yes, Triple XXX makes their own root beer jelly, and they also sell it by the jar. (I bought a jar.) They are famous for their root beer, which is sold nationwide, so I guess it makes sense that they would also make root beer jelly. It tastes exactly the way you would think it would. It tastes like root beer! It's delicious. The seating at this restaurant is interesting: All of the seats are bar seats, and they face the middle of the kitchen. There were no tables or booths that I saw, unless you wanted to go outside and sit at one of the picnic tables on the patio. I liked this seating setup, because I could watch the action happen before my very eyes. The black coffee was very good. It better be, at a place like this! This is the kind of greasy spoon restaurant where old timers stay a while with a cup of coffee and a newspaper. (There were three such people doing something like that when I visited, as a matter of fact.) It's just a comfortable part of the West Lafayette community.

I ordered a double cheeseburger with just ketchup to taste the burger alone. My wife ordered the peanut butter burger, and we ordered curly fries to share. My burger was great, the flavor and quality of the fresh ground steak makes a big difference in the flavor being so good. My wife is a fan of the peanut butter on the burger, and we both like the bun used. We both got root beer, which is a step above all other root beers I have tasted, which also probably has to do with quality ingredients. I am a fan of Triple XXX, and so is my wife. We will be back to try out the other menu items and breakfast!

As a State of Indiana employee, I attend Statehouse Market weekly but I can definitely get in a rut in terms of the vendors I choose. The Overgrown Pasture is a relative newbie, though they've been a fairly steady presence throughout this particular season. First off, they have a very cool truck. It's easily one of the more unique ones present and they've quickly become quite popular with that combination of a compelling presence and super friendly employees. I do believe the owner/co-owner was on the truck today and definitely makes you want to come back. They describe themselves as serving "farm fresh street cuisine." That's a great description. The menu was fairly simple with four major entrees - a Monte Cristo, a Pork Tenderloin, a Double Burger, and a Pulled Pork Cubano. They also offered half-pound sides of Mexican Street Corn and Kimchi Potato Salad. They also offered up some creative drink options. This really is just a fun vendor. While I usually go for burgers, I opted for the pork tenderloin. It's cajun roasted pork tenderloin, aged white cheddar, tomato jam, mayo, lettuce, tomato, on ciabatta. I requested it without the cheddar and that was not a problem. The price came in at $12 without a tip. They do take credit cards or cash. I'd be anxious to see how tenderloin connoisseurs feel about this one. It's certainly nowhere near a traditional tenderloin, though I liked it quite a bit. It was a little messier than expected and I hadn't grabbed napkins. The Cajun roasting made it feel lighter than I usually experience with tenderloin. It wasn't quite the best I've had, though I would definitely order it again. Sometimes, it seems like food trucks deliver much heavier food and this was a nice change of pace. The flavor combo was great. Part of me thinks I should go 4 stars, however, I really like the unique take on this sandwich and the flavor combo is a lot of fun. For me, that adds up to a 5-star when you add the terrific customer service. I really want to try the double burger. I might try the Pulled Pork Cubano. The Monte Cristo is outside my taste buds. The ordering process was a touch slow, though the food delivery was rather timely. On a hot day, that was nice. I couldn't find a lot about The Overgrown Pasture, though they do have a website and do seem to make appearances at a variety of events. They seem to be active on social media and I'm kind of surprised this is their first Yelp review. It looks like they regularly appear on the Kokomo and Whitestown areas - thus, my assumption is they are not based in Marion County. So, I'm definitely glad they come to Statehouse Market. I did see they will be at Gen Con in August. Overall, this was a terrific experience and I look forward to their return at Statehouse Market.
