My family has been going to Jones'z Auto since they first opened. They have always done only the work requested, have been very fair with pricing, often coming in lower than the original quote. My sister came from IL and took her car to them after getting a quote from her regular shop there for $850, and Jones'z repaired it for under $200. My mom also had a similar experience and comes here from Baraboo for repairs. I recommend them and trust them with my loved ones safety and pocketbook. Since they have moved into a new shop everything has changed! I took my auto in for a brake job and later decided on a tune up because they had time to do it. After spending over $650.00 the front end still shakes when braking and it runs worst now then before! I confronted Howie about it he got mad and told me to get the F##K out of his shop. I have talked with other auto repair shops and they told me many other customers have reported the same kind of treatment. We took out truck in for a timeing chain, we were told it would take 15 Hours to do. This was near July 4th and we could not find a rental around, so we rented a truck. Droped it off on Sunday night so the could start first thing Monday. Called wed, to chck and they said they had to order some parts (most places that are going to do a job will have the parts ready) was told should be ready by Friday. Friday comes and no truck, they "said some parts came in wrong. The next week we called and they "said" some parts came in wrong. We were told it shold be done is two days, this then went to they told us the"sealant" would not dry because of the weather (we had rain one day) And I have used permatex for a sealant and weather does not bother it. Then we were to the owner was welding and burnt his eye and they could not finish it. Then we were told they had to go to maddison to get parts (this is now over three weeks) Then we were told they were going to come in early and finish it. Did not happen, we finaly got it back after 5 damn weeks, during this time we ran up over a thousand dollars in rentals and we only had them when we could not use my motorcyle. A few days A few days after we got it back I saw we had an oil leak and you could smell burnt oil. A few days after that we get a call from the owners wife and said they had more time in than they thought and we owed the another $3,200.00 for the truck. I just got back from Ford becaus we lost oil pressure on the truk and I took it to them to check it out. Bottom line Jones'x used the wrong bolts and cracked ou valve covers and now we have to order new and the bill is going to be $1,025.00 to repair what Jones'z screwed up. So bottom line 15 hours took then 5 weeks, thy lied to us several times a week, they screwed up the job, we spent over $1,350.00 on rentals, and now we again have to spend anothe $1,025.00 for repair whle again we do without our truck. BIGGEST SCAMMER out there and knows nothing about being a mechanic! Took my Camaro for engine work and as of now he has had my car for 4 months! I call for an estimate on the rod and piston he is replacing and can never get one! He does NOT EVER return your calls nor does his lying son! My car is STILL NOT fixed and I requested it back and now he says I owe him almost $6,200 for my car which is not even fixed let alone running! It ran when I took it in. I could have gotten a new motor for the price he is trying to extort from me! The Federal Trade Commision is now involved and if I have to take him to court, I WILL! He is out and out trying to steal my car without even fixing it He also had my neighbors car for 9 months and he just got it back 3 weeks ago and its been back 3 times already and still there! The son bragged when I complained about them having my car for so long that "Thats nothing, we have had cars here for alot longer than that!" WHO says that?? Nothing to be proud of JR! Would not even give one star. Took my grand am to them because my car was leaking coolant. They kept telling me nothing was wrong and that it was probably from another car in my parking lot. After it was too late, and my car overheated, we found it was the thermostat, but by the time the other mechanic found that out the head gasket was blown! read more

DO not, I repeat DO NOT take your vehicle to this place. The owner is a liar and a cheat. He will charge you for parts and labor that is not performed. My best friend's car has been at this shop for six months, finally called the police but couldn't get her car because the engine was not in it. Was told by the owner he already had 37 hours of labor and had fixed nothing. 3700.00 worth of labor and still the car is not fixed. Never received a repair estimate until 6 months of waiting. Now the owner wants 6200.00 and the engine is still not in the car. A garage should not take 6 months to replace a rod and piston. Nor should it cost 6200.00. The car is only worth 6 thousand. The owner lied to the police officer numerous times. I will write more as soon as sad story unfolds. The only reason 1 star is given is this could not post with out it. read more

Possibly the worst auto place I've ever heard of, or been too. Took my car in to fix my squeaky breaks and when I got my car back, and drove it around for not even 2 minuets, I noticed that my gas petal was loose, and my car was steering WAY to the right. Called them to tell them the problem and they said that they switched all my tires around when I never asked them to do so. This has to be one of the best con's in the Janesville area! The guy that runs this Auto Shop comes over as polite and nice and willing to take on your problem!! Beware don't be fooled! Please save yourself the Headache and don't give this guy your keys! All he will do is try to fool you into thinking he is mechanic but in reality the teenage kid next door could probably fix it better!!
