I was met with the absolute best customer service. Not only did they squeeze me into a tight schedule but they also did a quick check over on my car and made sure it was running as smoothly as possible. I knew I needed an oil change and they were able to get that done as well. I spoke with one of the owners in depth about their business philosophy of repair instead of replace parts when possible and always taking care of customers. They were super helpful and nice and took the time to explain everything. I will be going to this spot for all my car issues for the rest of my time in Madison. Theyve done an oil change and a once over on my car-not as invasive as I feel was needed. Ive broken down twice needing a tow since. Thats not what I came here to talk about though. They certainly had not caused those issues, but it would have been helpull to know. They cost me time from work and money besides. My issue is with how the owner not only answered the phone but continued to speak to me when I was telling him my new dilemma (Im in bankruptcy and have struggled keeping a running vehicle. Ive learned a lot and can do much of the work myself). I have learned enough to know what I don't want to do myself. Mainly because it is now winter in freezing outside and Im without a garage. He never let me finish a sentence and was frustrated when he couldnt get the story straight. Every question he asked was biting and condescending, where if he let me finish and listened he would have had the answers. When he finally got a better picture of the issue he responded with 'I have a hard time believing that.' He went from 'thats not possible' to 'if we had done that' to 'this is what we do when that happens'. It turned into one of the situations where he said too much because he thought I didn't understand what he was saying. Looking at Google and the description-its an absolute lie. All of the part stores in the area know me. By name. And Ive taught the young bucks behind the counter a thing or two. I am smart enough to ask about the things that I don't know and I know how to ask nicely. He'd begrudgingly told me to make it in by 7:15 am to fit me in. Didnt offer the work for free (removing the leaking oil drain plug that they didnt use a crush washer with and is not coming out), didnt go into what could may be done to fix it and what they can offer for any price. I know how to fix it, his customer services was the worst Ive experienced in a long time.

I brought my truck in for a tire rotation and balance. I reminded them the air pressure needed to be reset. After waiting a bit I was ushered into the work area. The person working on my truck cross threaded one of the lugs. The lug nuts are not old as they were purchased from Discount Tire per their recommendation. They claimed the installer screwed it on by hand three turns instead of their company policy of five. A pain yes but it happened. They told me they would repair. My truck is going in the shop for other maintenance the next day and that can be taken care of. I get my truck back and the air pressure is 25 lbs low in the rear and 15 in the front. I had to have that corrected. I am also missing a center cap from my truck. The shop claimed it was missing when I arrived. They said they can order a new one. This is a comedy of errors and I'm paying the price. I would avoid this location. As a company I have bought tires for decades. This location is not up to par.

We could drive far with compact spare so he arranged for tires to be delivered within a few hours to his shop. Got us up and back on the road so we didn't have to wait until Monday. I dropped off the car first thing in the morning, saying, "Inspect the air conditioning, do oil and lube, and inspect all systems." The guy wrote it down. As I picked up the car at the end of the day, I looked at the invoice. They hadn't taken a look at the air conditioning at all. Nothin'. Nada. Duh! Air conditioning had been at the top of the list. How could have possibly have missed AIR CONDITIONING unless they were illiterate⁉ They essentially had done nothin' worth anything that day, and charged me for doin' nothin'. They weren't even apologetic. I was not a happy camper. I was new in town, didn't know anyone so -- fool that I was,-- I gave them another chance. They didn't do any better the second time around. According to my experience, they charged me a pretty penny for doing doodly-squat. Do I recommend them? Not on your life. Not a chance. They s_ck -- is that strong enough wording? I categorize them as "incompetent thieves." Move on. Find another shop. I can say unequivocally that Gary's Wille's was the worst vehicle repair shop I have ever gone to. I would give them "zero stars" if I could (or even a negative rating, like "minus 5"). This shop doesn't deserve one star, but Yelp requires a rating, so fine, one f'in' star.

I brought my car in on August 10th for an oil change, tire rotation, and to check a service light on the dash. About an hour later I got a call about it, and was given an outrageous quote to repair the root cause of the light, which turned out to be my alternator. On that call I wasn't given any real explanation or even a breakdown of the cost. That's also where I learned about a diagnostic fee I would be charged even if I went ahead with the repair, something I was never told about upfront. I declined the repair. After that call, I got quotes from a dealership and two other local shops for the same alternator repair. DiMaggio was going to charge me roughly 30 percent more than the dealership and nearly 70 percent more than the other local shops. Nobody called to let me know my car was ready, so I showed up assuming it was done. At pickup, I was charged for services I never approved, with no explanation until I pushed for one. My invoice said I had been given a courtesy vehicle inspection, but I didn't actually receive the results until after I had already complained. When I asked for the manager's contact information in person, I was handed a business card with an incorrect email address on it. I had to track down his correct email myself just to reach him. He did call the following day, and I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 only because of that call, but the conversation mostly defended his team's handling of things rather than offering any real path to fixing it. Because of that, I ended up taking my car to another shop instead. This experience was more than terrible. It didn't make sense on paper or even in person. Avoid this shop if you can.

And since i was going to be out of town next week I didn't want to be stranded at a gas station not being able to put gas in the car. I got there about 10 minutes before my appointment time and they immediately took a look. Apparently, there was a spring that was loose. The technician fixed it and within 15 minutes of my arrival I was on the road again with the problem fixed. Midas didn't even charge me for their time. I thought that was awesome and now I can travel next week without concerns the gas door won't open. Thanks Midas staff! Due to the subframe, they recommended I have no further work done on the vehicle, and that I stop driving the car immediately. They literally said, "Do not put another dime into this car.
