Dr. Choi is the best OB Gynecologist. He saved my ovaries when I had hysterectomy and endometriosis. I am recovering well from the surgery and very pleased with his expertise. Dr Choi has been my OBGYN for the last 12 years and he delivered my 4 kids. I had the best experience every time I visited his office and he is the most experienced and knowledgable doctor It's so amazing how short the wait is compared to other doctors offices and it's so amazing how responsible and fast Dr Choi is There have been a lot of instances where I had to page him on emergency basis and every time it took less than 2 minutes for him to get back to me and provide all the necessary information to deal with my situation With my 4th baby who was born only 3 days ago I had a life threatening complication and while in the hospital all night he did not go home rather waited to make sure I was doing ok and he was able to save my life and my baby's life I am so thankful and blessed I am home with my family for Christmas and part of it had to do with Dr Choi being so professional and on top of everything that is required from a caring and knowledgable physician. read more

Might be a decent obgyn for normal situations but I went with many issues and didn't know what I had so he told me "well you might have endometriosis, but the only way to know for sure is to do a laparoscopic surgery" unfortunately 3 years of being treated I still had nothing I went into his office crying from frustration and asked to get the surgery right away I wasn't worried about cost I just wanted a resolution, a name to call this hell I live in every two weeks. Not to mention the pain, exhaustion, and other issues. He told me we have to make "a case" and I have to keep going to appointments at $45 a pop (copay). I went a few more times but always felt dismissed and not taken seriously. I'm writing this review today because it 4:05 a.m and I'm in excruciating pain during my time of the month. If you suspect Endo I would look elsewhere, unfortunately I have not found a decent doctor that doesn't look at me like an exaggerated woman or a hypochondriac. read more

I had seen Dr. Choi a few months after I had my baby (he was not my dr during pregnancy or birth) my insurance changed and I was forced to pick him as my dr. I was at his office no more than 2 min. In that time he did a Pap smear test and talked extremely fast that I couldn't even process what he was telling me. He didn't ask me ANYTHING! He had no bedside manner and told me I should stop nursing as the milk no longer has any nutrients ( Baby was only 6 months ) WTF? I said I had pain on my side he immediately helped me off the bed and said it's just from carrying your baby. That's it! He didn't even bother asking where exactly or how long did I have the pain for, he just hurried me out of the office. I can't stand it when doctors do that! I wait for my turn and I expect for you to have time for me! Anyway, he was horrible. Very unpleasant to talk to. Go to Dr. Woodard, he is so amazing. Will never rush off and will sit as long as you need him to and he knows his business. read more

I saw Dr. Pak for my annual exam last year. I was a new patient to the area and was looking for continuing care as well as my IUD replacement. Overall I felt she was dismissive of some concerns I had in relation to my physicality and health. Additionally, after informing Dr. Pak of what product I was using for my IUD and that it would need to be replaced soon I was told that the office didn't carry that brand and I could have a different one. I told her I wasn't comfortable this because I have been extremely happy with how my body had tolerated the IUD I was using and didn't want to change a thing. I also know (and did not mention this) that an office can order and prescribe whatever is needed so my guess is that this office has some sort of agreement with the brand they recommend over what I was using, which to me was rather unpleasant and unsettling. I also noticed that much of the free space in the office was dedicated to drug company ads and standees. Generally the staff was ok not great and slightly unprofessional in how they communicated thingsto me as a patient. Example I requested STD testing as I do every year and it was very unclear how my results would be communicated and simply where I sat for the blood draw. I was kept waiting for the blood draw without acknowledgment to the delay. I also had a very early morning appointment and the waiting room was extremely crowded and the doctor was late seeing me. Overall it was unpleasant and I cannot recommend this office. read more

Dr. Pak is amazing! She delivered my baby boy 6 months ago. I had complications with my delivery and through it all she kept a leveled head, her decisions were based on the safest outcome for me and my baby. After losing my private insurance do to disability while pregnant I was in a deep panic because I loved my OBGYN that i had for my 2 previous pregnancies at the time and there office staff. So there I was 3 months pregnant and my original OB didn't accept medical so i had to bit the bullet and go somewhere new since I couldn't afford to pay out of pocket. I was recommend to Dr. Choi office by the women's health at Glendale Adventist Hospital where I delivered my previous 2 daughters. I can't say I wasn't nervous. On my first appointment the office staff was so welcoming and nice and made me feel at ease, from that very first moment I was attended I knew that me and my unborn baby would be fine, I even had an hour consultation with Patty from the office and she helped me so much through choices and even insurance to speed things up. Dr. Choi is very nice and trust worthy. This office became what i never thought I almost felt like I cheated on my previous OB and office staff but I'm definitely keeping Dr. Choi and this office staff even when I get my private insurance back. For my mom's 60th birthday and my upcoming wedding, I bought her several session of Ultherapy because Dr. Choi is one of the only M.D.'s that are licensed to perform this treatment. And wow, did her face look amazing!!! I was wary of her getting any type of Botox or surgical treatment for her so this new non-surgical, natural technology to tighten skin was a perfect gift. I wish I took before photos but her face was noticeably devoid of wrinkles. Also, Dr. Choi is so professional, very knowledgable, and a complete expert at everything he does. I saw one of Dr Choi's associates. Dr. Pak is fine and attentive. But I am really disappointed by the unethical practice of the office people. Before I saw the doctor, the receptionist asked me whether I was coming for consultation or exam. She said if for consultation, I would have to pay $20 copay. For exams, I don't have to pay anything because my insurance pays for everything. I was coming for consultation and so I gave them $20 (I believe for other medical offices, you pay after you see the doctor) But Dr. Pak decided to give me an exam. Afterwards, I told the receptionist an exam was done and so I should be refunded the $20. However, the receptionist said because I booked for a consultation, I would have to pay the copay and they are also going to charge the insurance for exam. $20 is not a big amount, but I think it is a matter of principle that they should charge fairly. Whether the receptionist was too lazy to give me the refund or for whatever reason, I am disappointed with the incident. read more

I had my 3rd son delivered by Dr. Choi. When I found out I was pregnant, I was looking forward to having my previous doctor that delivered my 2 boys deliver this baby also( Dr.Ronald Wu). I found out that he had retired. I searched for a doctor for about 2 weeks and loved all the reviews that not only doctor Choi had also his staff, so I booked an appointment. I am sop glad i did. I love the way doctor Choi and his staff treated me and the care that I received. His office is very nice and you always get treated with a smile from all the staff there. If you call for any questions and the person you need to speak to is not available, they make sure you do get a call back. I have nothing bad to say about this office. My delivery was also amazing. I delivered via csection due to having csections before, and Dr. Choi did an amazing job with that. He made me feel very comfortable and the procedure was quick. If I decide to have one more I am definetly going back to Dr. Choi. He has definetly gained a long time patient that is for sure. read more

I was very skeptical about having a male gynecologist after a couple of bad experience in the past, but Dr. Choi was great. He's a keeper! He was informative, thorough in his explanations and pleasant and good bedside manner which is a must for me with doctors. It took me a long while to write this review but I'm still not over what I have experienced. I can't believe these women have anything positive to say about a doctor who thinks just because this is his practice he can dress as he pleases (his words), while examining his patient he was dressed casually, jeans and a shirt with rolled up sleeves, with sunglasses on his forehead, no white coat. He doesn't take his patients seriously as he thinks he can receive personal calls on his cell phone and must answer the call while he is trying to stick something down there and work on you at the same time and without changing his gloves that touched his filthy cell phone go back to sticking things inside a human body. His license should be revoked and he should be ashamed. He is rude, insensitive and your questions are either unanswered or answered with sarcasm. Try to be smart with him because you are somewhat informed about your body and know a little bit and that is when you will see his true face, if you act like a dummy then he feels more comfortable and will be nicer to you. I am disgusted beyond disbelief. Ladies, stay away from this doctor and his office, do not endanger your own health. There are plenty other Gynecologists who are professional and who have the knowledge and deserve to be called doctors unlike this one here. Highly NOT recommended. read more

It's rare to find a combination of a great doctor and amazing staff, but these guys are the best! I'm an active girl in my early 30s, and not interested in having children, so I go to doctor Choi for Gynecology only. He is open and easy to talk to about my sex life and any female issues I may be having. It's nice to have a doctor that gives real medical advice and is not judgmental. His staff is equally amazing. I have a very annoying HMO, and the staff always make sure my referrals and insurance paperwork are in order before I come in. They are super nice on the phone and always make an effort to fit me in when I need an important appointment. read more

I dont know what all these people are talking about. ...this Dr treated me like crap...I went to him, when my period lasted over 17 days..it was an urgent appointment, all he did was an ultrasound & biopsy ..gave me an appointment 12 days later...only to try to convince me to take hormonal therapy...which he knew I couldn't, due to other health issues..& his next thing was..."well medicine is not definitive"...well yes I understand but at this point I was bleeding for 38 days....he is rude..sarcastic & all he cares about was the authorization from insurance, which conveniently his staff forget to submit. I dont think, if it was his wife or daughter or mother...he would wait to solve the problem.. (which to this day I didn't know what it was from him)....thank God for 2nd opinions...i went to another Dr & he explained everything to me..I am having surgery next week. Dr. Choi was comparing my blood to his...saying "your blood count is better than mine"...really Dr...you took an oath to protect people's health! !!!! Yet you gambled with my health....his words were "lets hope the bleeding stops" really! !!! Horrible Dr from hell...I have been bleeding for 40 days.....stick to your laser vaginal rejuvenation & other laser treatments...horrible. horrible. Horrible. This doctor butchered me. He performed a total hysterectomy on me at age 36, taking only 20 minutes to perform the entire operation. He brutalized me so badly that I had such a severe edema that they had to keep me in the hospital for nearly a week. It looked like I was wearing dark purple underwear the bruising was so severe. The blood built up in my abdomen prevented them from removing my staples for almost three weeks post-op, and one week after being released from the hospital, after paging him over New Year's eve and getting rude responses, I had to call 911 and be rushed back to the hospital as the trapped blood burst through the staples in my abdomen and a bath towel was necessary to soak up the bleeding. He refused to meet me at the ER until I raised such a stink that the ER doctor forced him to come in. A year and a half later I required 3 hours of surgery, with both a new OBGYN and a general surgeon, to fix adhesions so severe that even my colon was involved. On that trip to the ER the ER Doctor actually said about Dr. Choi, "I wouldn't let him operate on my dog." Since then I have been told by MANY of the staff at St. Joseph's that he has killed patients, their babies, and even operated on the wrong people. They told me that they have restricted his privileges at that hospital. The horror stories told to me by the staff there include an episode where he decapitated a baby during delivery - that was told to me by an ultrasound technician. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR. read more

Dr. Choi delivered my daughter 18 years ago. I never thought that I would see him again after 18 years but this time, on a rather urgent and serious situation. When I had to pick a gynecologist from my HMO roster, I was relieved that Dr. Choi was on the list. I went to see him to discuss the course of treatment for my medical issues. He was very keen and open minded to my questions. We had difference on the approach on how I would prefer things done. In the end, he listened to my concern because "he regarded me as a patient who needs care and treatment." Surgery was performed by Dr. Choi ; it was a blessing that it was done because there was an underlying situation that was discovered which he took care of, as well. He went to see me the following day at the hospital and gave me a thorough explanation of the surgery and the unexpected issues that came up as he was performing the surgery. He gave me an assurance that "I will be fine!" What an emotional journey for me. I am so grateful that Dr. Choi was the person to be with me in this journey. He has that distinct charismatic demeanor and such a well maintained composure that just makes you feel that "everything will be ok!" Thank you so much for your gift and talent, Dr. Choi.
