He also refused to move his seat forward enough to provide a comfortable ride that was over an hour. One person said they waited for 40 mins and still no sign of a cab. I called Carmel taxi service and wow! 10 mins later they were picking me up from the train station that Al, who is across the street can't even do. I made the reservation last week to ensure that I could count on this transportation. The nicest gentleman arrived promptly in clean, shinny car with proper identification on the outside. He put my Scooter into the trunk and made sure that i was in the into the back seat safely. We had a conversation covering many topics on the way to my destination. I had the good fortune of him bringing me home on my return trip. In the Spring I used another taxi service twice and I would rate them a 0 unfortunately. Then I tried Uber and have found Uber to vary greatly with drivers and vehicles, pricing is high with many add on fees. I waited at the door of my home starting around 2:05PM. At 2:25PM I called to ask if the cab was on it's way. The dispatcher told me that the driver had waited outside my home for 10 minutes and left! He accused me of making up that I was waiting in the front of my home with a clear view of the street and my driveway. The dispatcher was unaware of the difference between Miller Ave and Miller Road (FedEx confuses these addresses all the time), and refused to concede that the driver may have made an error (rather than that I was a liar). I have to assume the driver was at the wrong address. They refused to send a cab to get me. (I called Carmel Taxi and they were there in 10 minutes, polite, one heck of difference.) Stay away from Mahopac Cab Company. Total losers.
