    Chiles Rellenos Dinner

Stopped in for my mother's birthday she is a regular. Very fun atmosphere treated us like we were life long friends. The food was good American Mexican food, well balanced and seasoned well. Service was efficient and friendly. The golden margaritas were a big hit with the table.

Great, friendly service with a smile, fast seating and check out. Very handicap accessible, clean restaurant and bathrooms and of course: great , clean and tasty food and margarita! I got guava on rocks. Sublime! This is a very good American Mexican restaurant! Come and Enjoy !

Tonight we stopped by Jorrges on Wilmington Pike after a friend recommended the restaurant is run by one of the people involved with Pepitos which used to be a few blocks away. The restaurant location is the former BBQ restaurant & Friendlys has cool Mexican cantina feel with lots of colorful lights. When you arrive they have warm corn chips & homemade salsa at your table. They have quite the menu with burritos, tacos, quesadillas, chimichangas, enchiladas and a few specialties. Our group enjoyed a mini chicken burrito, super beef burrito and Chicken sandwich special. The restaurant was packed with people waiting for tables, but felt bad as their was only one waitress for the restaurant, another gentleman bringing out chips & salsa, another bringing out food from the kitchen & another cleaning tables. Their margaritas looked really good & will have to try on another visit. Draft beer comes in a huge frosted stein. But the food took forever to come from the kitchen, once it did it was hot, people loved the red sauce on the burritos. The waitress was working so hard, but an entire restaurant is too much for one person. Once we left the team was thankful for visit & willing to try again

    Birthdays are fun.

Great food. Service still has some bugs to work out, but they're new. I hope they make it. For some reason this is one of those locations where nothing seems to last long. (Was originally a Friendlies. )

Everything was amazing! I'd give 5 stars but the salsa wasn't my favorite, it's good though!

Great margaritas and chips and salsa. The street tacos carne asada was like dry beef jerky.

I've had plantains in the past, but these were certainly the best I've tried. For entrees, we went with arroz con pollo and bandeja paisa which was basically an assortment platter. I was a little disappointed in the arroz con pollo. Rice was over cooked and the flavor was overall muted. For dessert, we tried obleas -- thin waffles filled with jam, caramel and cheese. The waffles weren't true waffles, but more just cracker type. Again, rather disappointing but maybe I just don't have the right taste for it. The service was excellent, and we did enjoy the appetizers. Entrees and dessert were a let down. Overall, 3 stars in my book.

I especially loved the hot aji sauce that came with the empanadas - I put it on my arepa too -yum! If we are in the area again, I will definitely return.

I am absolutely obsessed with Salar and can't wait to go back!…read more This sleek, upscale restaurant in downtown Dayton is dishing out the best food in the area. Every dish I've gotten and every plate I've seen come out of the kitchen is amazing and a wonderful sight. The duck is a personal favorite. It's always perfectly cooked with the right amount of pink and paired with Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes. It also makes an amazing leftover since the portions are so big. The steak though is a dining staple. The Delmonico Ribeye shines at both a rare and medium rare cook and is just so flavorful. That's the steak I dream of and can't wait to have again. The servers are attentive, polite, and helpful when you ask for their thoughts on which dish to order. The bar is quick and makes some great drinks (based on friends' input). Salar isn't so upscale that you can only go for special occasions. It makes for a good mid-week dinner, meetup with friends and coworkers, but it can also be a treat yourself meal.

Loved it. They had a complementary snack too, which was nice - like fried pitas and a nice sauce. The corn salad was ok. Then I had a main that was a crepe. They have plenty of vegetarian options, by the way, which is great. The crepe come stuffed with fur nice cheese and san marzano tomato sauce. I enjoyed the dish. Service was like excellent. Our waitress was like in top of things. Really attentive and anticipated our needs. Tent good place and I'd cube back

Caveat: Vallarta Mexican Seafood is several rungs above the average Tex-Mex joint in the Greater Dayton Metropolitan Area. We really enjoy Sonora Grill Seafood Steak Bar & Grill, and Vallarta Mexican Seafood merits special attention as well. On our radar: La Poblanita Mexican Market and restaurant. A note on stars; Sonora Grille is on Burkhardt, and in a small strip mall; I am not inclined to award a strip mall restaurant 5 stars; however.... Vallarta Mexican Seafoodis also in a small strip mall with plenty of free parking. Folks inclined to visit and dine at The Greene might go west to visit Vallarta Mexican Seafood.
