Had a nice midweek catch up with a longtime friend. She had a couple lovely looking margs and I had beers. I also had the avocado chicken burrito lunch special. She had some a la carte items. I've been here twice and the food, service, and atmosphere has been great. The wait staff are so sweet and inviting, it's as if I'm coming home to see family. Both waitresses i had were so nice and helpful in food suggestions and constantly checked in on us. The food is very delicious and filling. The portion sizes kept me full and with leftovers the next day. My favorite was the birria quesadillas. The meat was tender and seasoned well and the tortilla had a great crunch. The churro dessert satisfied my churro curiosity, this was my first time trying churros, and made me want more. The street corn and chips were addicting. I enjoyed the sweet tanginess of the street corn. The chimichanga was a lunch meal and everything on the plate was very filling and delicious. I forgot the name of the other 2 meals I attached, but both tasted great. My only critique is the lobster in the cheese shrimp/tilapia/lobster meal tasted different. Kind of tasted like langostino and was very soft. I'm not sure if it was cooked all the way through. With the price of the food, portions, great staff, and welcoming atmosphere, I definitely recommend this place. read more

Went here to celebrate our ANNIVERSARY! I got the combo special! It was delicious. My husband and I sat outside in the patio area. It was such a beautiful day. We both got margaritas! I ordered the Taco Rey (I got 2 ground beef and 1 chicken. This is a set of three taco's with a hard shell attached to a soft shell with beans. The food was delicious, and I highly recommend. My party also got soup, and chips with various dips. All of the food I tried was really tasty. Our server was exceptional at refills, making sure our space was taken care of, and frequently checked if we needed anything. I liked the venue a lot too, it wasn't very crowded despite it being lunch time on Easter Sunday, and it wasn't very noisy. The table was slightly cramped, but there is plenty walking room around the space. It just felt tight seating 6 people at one table. read more

Came here today (10/25/23) food was great, our server Marta was wonderful as always but the only think I wasn't very pleasant was with the service at the cashier, hostess was a bit rude it seemed like she didn't really want to be there and and this same young girl has been the same the last couple times we've came. This place is terrific. The food is really tasty, in a down-to-earth, authentic, perfectly seasoned fashion. The portions are huge. The chips and salsa are spot on as well. The service is excellent. Servers are friendly, attentive, and they anticipate your needs. I needed napkins at one point during my meal and before I could even ask the server brought more. It was awesome. Coming to El Rancho Grande is always a treat. Although the entire dining area as Hitler design, my favorite place to sit has to be at the bar. As you're enjoying an ice cold Bud Light with lime wedges, and snacking on chips and salsa/queso, you get to enjoy the ambience lights changing colors behind the liquor bottles. Very relaxing. My go-to dish here is their chicken soup. Lunch or dinner, it is by far my favorite thing on the menu. The quality is consistent throughout all after locations. I get the same quality food here as I do at the West Carrollton location, as well as the Wright State University (Fairborn) location. If you get a chance, I would highly recommend checking one of their locations out! read more

Okay so we have been loyal El Toro patrons for years. Lately they have gone down hill. So we decided to try El Rancho tonight. Oh my goodness. We were greeting quickly and with a smile. After we were sat the sever Jimena (Ximena?) was very pleasant and took time to answer the questions we had. She also made recommendations in many different categories at our request. The food was a 9/10, and would have been a 10 but we have had Mexican food in Mexico which by default had to be a 10. We will be back for sure. Our new favorite place! read more

I loved my experience here. My family and I went to this location last night for dinner and it was wonderful. The service was outstanding. Our server was kind and attentive. We didn't have to wait for drinks and our food came out fast and piping hot! No complains about the service. The food was incredible. It's a Mexican chain restaurant so you need to take that into account when I say "incredible." Is it an authentic local Mexican restaurant? Absolutely not. But it's delicious for what it is. Everyone at my table, there were four of us, devoured our dinner without any issues. I ordered chicken fajitas without cheese and substituted flour tortillas with corn tortillas. So good! The veggies were fresh and flavorful. The chicken was juicy and NOT dried out from the skillet, which is definitely a treat! I can't tell you how many times I've ordered fajitas and the meat was dry and chewy. Not here! It was fresh and cooked perfectly. The rice was also not dried out and the refried beans weren't runny. Wonderful! Loved every bite and was devastated when I forgot my leftovers sitting sadly at the booth... I was looking forward to eating my leftovers for lunch... Bummer! My sister ordered the vegetarian #4 and ate it all. She had no complaints! My father ordered the carnitas and my mother ordered the traditional Guacamole. We came in to dine in on Monday we had an okay experience our server was great food was also great we had some chips and guacamole and it was delicious!!! We also had some enchiladas verdes and they were also delicious the rice and beans are so so good the food was really great. The only thing that bothered us was that the hostess was incredibly rude she kept making faces and whenever we asked her a question she just looked at us and ignored us. Well...that was a last time. I kind of wished I stayed home and cooked myself. Chicken salad: wet ice burg lettuce, obnoxiously large chunks of green pepper, a tomato sliced into fours, large raw onion chunks, sprinkle of mozzarella, and grilled chicken slivers. It was a soulless plate of fried tortilla with cheese and those big @$$ veggies stuffed inside. Also came with the beautiful large raw tomato sliced up and placed on the corners with little to no afterthought. Rice was bland and it was paired with an even more bland dollop of avocado-sour cream blend. Worst part of all...fried ice cream. The menu says FRIED ICE CREAM....ITS NOT FRIED. ITS COVERED IN CORN FLAKES. ACTUAL CORN FLAKES. I feel like I just went to Mexican night at a Canadian community college cafeteria but spent 3x as much. May I have my monies back? My co-workers and I wanted some good Mexican food. So we looked on Yelp to find the best Mexican restaurant around. We saw that this place had pretty decent reviews and decided to go there. The restaurant atmosphere was nice. I was expecting good food from the looks of the restaurant. We ordered two appetizers because we couldn't decide between the two. The sampler appetizer did come chicken fingers which we thought was weird and we asked if we could substitute it for something else and the sever said no. The food came out quickly but did not look appetizing at all. We were all shocked when we saw the food. The nacho supreme was probably the worst nachos I've ever had. This is a hometown favorite and a must when visiting! Although the salsa looks like a thick tomatoe paste, it isn't. It has alot of flavor and is considered mild but is very spicey! If you like a hotter option they have have it but I suggest having something to drink before trying it, it's very hot! I ordered the Chicken Enchiladas and by far the best Verde Sauce I've ever had. Very cheesy and spicey. The plate was full of food and at a reasonable price! The margaritas are amazing and well worth the price! We sat in the bar section which is very nicely decorated! They have a full bar and can make any drink but you will have to inform them what to use add they only understand margaritas. Been here many times. Generally have good food and drinks in the past. 3 of us tonight, I don't know how the others felt about their meals but my carnitas were dry and tough. Was not worth bringing the leftovers home. The waitress stopped by 2 minutes after we were served our food to ask how it was and we did not see her again until at least 10 minutes after we were finished. I had told the other 2 that there was no reason to wait around for the bill. Not sure how they think that $2.99 is a reasonable price for less than 1/4 cup of sour cream as a side. read more

Had dinner here since the other Mexican restaurant we usually go to was crowded on a Taco Tuesday night. This place had hardly anyone . I was about to find out why. We ordered several chicken dishes. The chicken was different in each dish. It varied from something that looked to be out of a can to chunks of chicken formed into pieces that was obviously pre packaged frozen. Very bland except for the cheese sauce they poured over the chicken . Nothing appeared homemade and it just had no flavor. Pre packaged overly salty ! One good thing my beer was cold! Went on a Friday evening. Place was not very busy. They have everything I look for in a restaurant. Clean, well decorated, very attractive bar area. Service was prompt. I had the beef nachos. Seems funny to say butch there was too much beef and could have used more cheese but they were delicious. The chips got soggy but they give you a basket of them anyway. Main course I had the Burrito Norento as suggested by the waiter. Shredded beef with beans and a green sauce. Delicious. A lot to like about this place if you want Mexican. read more

What an amazing place! I always order the Burrito California here, and it's the bomb! The food here is actually in with a shout against some of the true Mexican food I eat when I visit San Diego. The staff is very pleasant and always willing to find a food that fits your hunger! The wait for food isn't bad either. I come here quite often now- it's my Mexican restaurant of choice in town! I ordered carry out on the phone, was never given an order number, and I had to ask how long it would be. Was told 10-15 minutes, showed up 15-20 minutes later. Once I got there I was asked what my order number was, had to tell them my order since I was never given a number. Paid, then waited another 20 minutes before my food was brought out. I went up to an employee to ask if the food was mine since they put it on the counter and walked away. Saw on the receipt it was my order, by the time I grabbed the order and looked up the employee already turned around to ignore me.
