Horrible customer service. Needs to work on how to speak to customers on the phone, especially a certain male that works there. I even heard one of the employees curse in the store when we were getting fitted. Took them 15 minutes to find me in the system when I called, just for a simple question. Ugly service for the pretty penny we're paying for the clothes. I wouldn't recommend this particular location if you HAVE to use Jos A. Bank. If anything, find somewhere else that sells/rents nice suits for a cheaper price. We're paying ~$230 for a rental! read more

I have shopped with this company, as well as my family, for 20 years. I have always had great customer service as well as a great quality product. I set up an appointment to come sit down with a "specialist" to help pick out the perfect tuxedo for my wedding day. There are ten groomsmen so this equals at least 2k in rentals. I showed up to this location and told a gentleman who was working I was here for my appointment. His response was "Uh....we will get to you when we can." It's the middle of the day on wed so I have to get back to work in an hour. I go speak to the other man who says "there are three or four in front of you." I asked if they had appointments. He said no but it didn't matter. I asked him what the point of making an appointment was and he said, "I don't know." This location is a dump and is not the standard of service that Jos. These people know the art of false advertising. I went in to take advantage of their sale, buy one get 2 free. Yea....not as advertised. Every suit I wanted did not qualify for sale. If you wanted sale, you would spend more than just buying a suit. I was extremely disappointed and left the store. read more

SHAMELESS RIP OFF ARTISTS!!!! I bought a suit in Dallas at a Jos A Bank during their buy one get 3 sale. Since I only bought one, they gave it to me at a third the price. It wasn't what my fiancé wanted, so I returned the suit at this research blvd location. I found another suit with salesman Dave (the one who looks like the fat kid from The Sandlot). I asked him twice to honor the sale price in Dallas, and he refused. After I asked him the second time, he told me I was wasting his time. I drove 20 minutes down the road to the S. Congress location and, guess what, they honored the sale. I saved about $400 just by not dealing with shithead Dave. I would rather pass a pine cone through my urethra than visit this place again. read more

I told them I unexpectedly had to stay the night in Austin & I needed a to buy a shirt, pants, socks, shoes, belt & tie. Who gives up a sale like that? I guarantee you that the JAB in College Station would not have handled it the same way! College Station JAB has great service which I expected here too. read more

We recieved red carpet service from the staff at the Arboretum location. Mike, Jonathan, Aaron, Daniel, and a few others all worked together to find the perfect suit for my husband. Their attention to detail and knowledge of style and fit were impressive (Mike, in particular). If you carry, they will add an extra liner to the inside of your suit and know just how to tailor it accordingly. read more

I agree with some of the reviews about rude employees, because most of the salesmen (not management) are simply rude. I had some problems getting the tailoring done correctly. After complaining about 2 trips back to the store, asst. manager Guy, was very sympathetic. He made sure it was done right and that I was satisfied. This store needs more people like him. read more

Go somewhere else for better tailoring and customer service. It took 10 weeks and 5 trips to get my "custom" suit done (custom in quotes because it's basically suit separates with tailoring included). I had to get the Corporate office involved because the store claimed my suit would take 9 weeks to arrive (when their policy is 4-6 weeks). The store magically found my suit on week 7, a day after I called Corporate. However, 2 rounds of tailoring still left a poorly tailored suit (sleeves uneven, glue mark where a button was moved, baggy pants, etc.) but I needed it for an event. Even with the Corporate office issuing me a $100 check for bad service (after the store refused to provide any compensation or admit fault), I don't think I'll shop at a Jos A Bank again. read more

Jos. A Banks was my fourth stop in a day in an attempt to find a quality suit at a reasonable price. Fortunately I came in during a two-day sale and got a $900 wool suit at about 1/3 regular price. The selection was excellent, and the department manager who assisted me was extremely knowledgeable (or at least convincingly so) about all the options. I didn't perceive any pressure to overspend my budget, and the staff even set-up tailoring which was very professionally accomplished within 24 hours. The entire staff was friendly and I never felt rushed. Great experience overall. read more

I have to say I was a little concerned after reading the reviews on this store. I read them in the parking lot before going in to look for a sport coat. I decided to give them a shot because I don't always believe the reviews I read. So, I walk in and was quickly greeted by a young man named Jonathan. He was very friendly and asked if he could help me find something. I explained that I was interested in a new sport coat. Without asking my size he walked me to the appropriate rack and began explaining the different fabrics they had recently received and asked if I was partial to one or the other. I found a couple that I liked and tried them on. They were a little tight through the midsection and I had to fess up that this is why I needed a new jacket. Jonathan said no worries we can let it out a little and it will fit fine. He even offered to "let out" the other jackets/suits that I have at home. I am feeling great at this point but have to ask an important question. When can you have it ready? He asked when do you need it to which I replied tomorrow. It was Friday evening and I had to fly out to a meeting early Sunday morning. Jonathan said he thought he could have it done by 5pm Saturday. Again I explained how important it was to me and he said "I'll get it taken care of". If he couldn't have made it happen it would have been my own fault for waiting so late. I've always said, Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine. 4:45 pm I walked in and they were crazy busy but my jacket was ready. I tried it on again and it fit perfectly. Jonathan is my guy for my future clothing needs! He was very helpful and did what he said he would do. I will never ask for more than that. read more

Good company BUT this location has horrible service. The older guys seem nice enough however the Ukrainian kid at the register should be fired ASAP. Jos A Bank should close this store and start over. Been here twice and always encounter rude, pushy employees with no interest in making the customer happy. Condescending. Refuse to follow company policy on returns. Breach of purchase contract. After dealing with the jerk at this store, I called another location, explained the situation, and the manager said to bring the item in for full refund in accordance with the purchase invoice which clearly stated that I was entitled to a refund. The guy I dealt with at this location was a jerk from the get go. Talked down to me. Interested in his commission at the expense of building a relationship with the customer simply by doing what he was required to do. I have been buying clothes from this company on a regular basis for 35 years but here I'm treated like garbage. read more

Thank god I didn't get the grooms tux here. My dad's was about 4 times too big we had to use safety pins the day of the wedding and he still looked like a kid in his dads clothes. They gave my brother in law the wrong persons tux so of course it didn't fit. He told them and they made it very clear he was an inconvenience. The marketing gimmicks Jos. Bank employs is an insult to any thinking, rational mind. Discounts and half-off-the-2nd (overpriced) item are a joke. Save yourself time, money and headaches and take your business elsewhere. I have tolerated doing business with this store for over 20 years, but my latest experience was the last straw. Saeed (sp?) was extremely pushy, condescending and full of himself, which should have served as a warning for me to leave immediately. But I needed a new suit and blazer, tolerated the shallow flattery, and ended up purchasing both items, along with a pair of slacks to go with the blazer. Alterations and make-ready have been a nightmare. The slacks had double creases on one leg and triple creases on the other. Sleeves on the suit coat had to be shortened twice. The suit slacks were altered with the correct length/break, but the stitching looked rippled/pulled, so I had to return it to be corrected. I picked up the slacks without trying them on, then left for an event. When I arrived at the event, I changed into my suit only to discover Jos. Bank had taken 2+ inches off the legs! I had no choice but to attend the event in 'highwater' slacks! Unbelievable! It was all I could do to keep conversations eyeball-to-eyeball so colleagues and associates would not be looking down at the gap between the top of my shoes and the hemline of my pants. Extremely embarrassing. For those who made comments, I readily made it known it was a Jos. Bank suit and screw-up (partly mine, for assuming they had only corrected the stitch, not cut two additional inches off the bottom of each leg). After the event, I drove directly across town to Jos. Bank and demanded a refund. I was told by the condescending manager that they could not and would not refund since I had worn the suit. They would only offer to correct the alteration. I am now on my 6th trip back to this store in what should have been a two trip transaction. To top things off, my wife walked in the store to pick up one of the items for me and apparently a visiting executive was having an impromptu sales meeting with staff, right in the middle of the store. She was disgusted with the tone and instructions the executive was barking to the staff. In a thick, fast New Jersey accent he emphasized: "Make the customer think he's getting a good deal." Not make a good deal, but make him THINK he's getting a good deal. I will now be looking elsewhere for a truly good deal on quality and service that is deserving of my business. Accompanied my husband to rent a tux for a business event and the customer service and lack of knowledge regarding how to select and reserve a tux was unbelievable! I advise you to find another option for tux rental, or any wardrobe need for that matter. read more

When you go into this store go talk to Jonathan Sterling. Out of all the reps we worked with he was the most positive, most helpful, most kind, and most professional. Wedding planning is a stressful season of life and when things could have got more stressful Jonathan really helped. Picked up my tuxedo for a wedding here. As I was traveling in was fitted at another's JAB in Massachusetts. It is tucked away in a confusing mini mall, a configuration I've never seen before or may again. Was attended to right away and they had my tux showed me to the changing room and my wife had a seat and "talked" to the clerk. And by "talked" I mean listened to everything from his time in Iraq as a contractor to his short lived marriage (shocked since we both thought he was, well nevermind). After coming out dressed he tried to up sell me a pair of Texas flag cufflinks as a wedding present to the groom.... no. Looking in the mirror, and my frame, the coat really needed a very minor alteration of bringing it in at Mt hips. I have broad shoulders but not waist. He informed us that if I buy the tux I can have it altered.... I used MW for my wedding 5 years ago, I know my groomsmen all had minor alteration done for nothing, especially NOT THE PRICE OF A TUXEDO, plus alteration fee as well I'm sure, oh and rush charge as well... I think this is more company wide than this store however, no shock JAB & MW even after the merger are still loosing money hand over fist. read more

This is the worst purchasing experience I've ever had. I would never suggest anyone go to this Joseph A. Bank. GO TO CAPRA & CAVELLI. Victor will take care of you! ______________________________________ In a two week span, they: - Ordered a suit (3 weeks before wedding) - They didn't order the correct suit (Found out 2 weeks before wedding) - Got the suit in and the pants were the wrong size (5 days before wedding) - Didn't have the new pants shipped (2 days before wedding) - Had to order a completely different suit (2 days before wedding) - Couldn't alter the suit in time (1 day before wedding) INABILITY TO ORDER ANYTHING CORRECTLY OR IN A TIMELY MANNER I ordered a suit. Turns out, I needed a different suit so I went back that evening and placed the new order. I got a call that my suit was in. It was the old suit. They hadn't ordered the new one yet. They ordered the new suit. It came in and the pants were the wrong size. They had to order new pants. According to them, the place they ordered the pants from had a broken printer and they never sent the pants. This was two days before the wedding. They ordered an entirely different suit that I needed in 44 hours. I asked how long it was going to take to alter and they told me two weeks. Keep in mind, their sales associate told me on Sunday that my suit would ready to wear for the wedding on Friday. On Tuesday, they told me altering it would take two weeks. The same sales associate told me the pants would be in the store in two days. Three days later, they still weren't there and thank God I went into the store because they had just assumed my suit was there. They handed me the suit with the previously-determined incorrect pants like nothing was wrong and were completely oblivious to the fact that the pants I ordered on Sunday had never shipped. SIZING AND ALTERING I put on the incorrect pants and wore them as if nothing were wrong just to see what would happen. The store manager fitted the suit, looked at it, and said the sleeves needed to be let out, but the waist was good and the pant legs needed to be adjusted, obviously. Actual truth, I couldn't even get the pants buttoned because they were so small. Absolutely absurd how anyone could miss something so blatantly. And this was the Store MANAGER, not even a sales associate who had just started. CUSTOMER SERVICE In spite of all of their ineptitude, what REALLY sets these people apart as being the lowest was the way I was treated when they were informed of their mistakes. I was promised my suit would be ready on Thursday morning and when I was told it would take 2 weeks to alter, I let out an "Are you sh*****g me?" out of complete shock. The sales associate left the fitting rooms and didn't come back for another 5 minutes, then proceeded to scold me. I informed him what his fellow sales associate had told me and this man-child had the nerve to tell me that was NOT what the other sales associate told me and continue to scold me. He then refused to help me with the suit I had ALREADY paid for until he was satisfied. I asked to speak to the manager and it turns out HE was the manager. He proceeded to help another customer and spend 20 minutes of my time on the phone with a store in Houston trying to rectify his store's gross incompetencies. At no point did he apologize for their mistakes or offer anything in the way of propitiation. BOTTOM LINE There is no facet of this job that these people are qualified for. They failed to order the proper suit three times; they couldn't fit it correctly twice (two different people, one of whom was the store manager); and the store manager himself was unarguably the rudest person I have ever dealt with, which is saying a lot because I'm a corporate recruiter who cold-calls all day... read more

This place is terrible. We rented a number of tux's for my wedding from these guys. One of my groomsmen had 2 right sleeves on his dress shirt, another's said "try on fitted" like it was off of a mannequin. A few weeks before I called to check on the status and the employee refused to check in the computer because they were "really busy". I'm a customer too! After the wedding my wife contacted the corporate office and received a quick response from a representative that said she had personally spoken with the manager of the store, and expect a call within 24-48 hrs. It's now been over a week and nothing. We emailed the rep back and now she won't respond either. Can't wait for this company to go out of business, they deserve it. read more

My fiancé and I went here to buy suits for our wedding party. It was the most horrific experience ever. The customer service was so bad, we spent over 4 hours between two days and they could not get our order correct. We were walking the man thru want we wanted and he was still screwing i up and making excuses. We were buying 9 suits so it was very large order and all the salesman tired to do was upswell us with shirts. He ended losing our business. I went here to buy my first suit. I knew nothing about suits and did not know my jacket size; but I knew my waist was 31. So, I was sold a suit -- jacket 42L, pants 36 waist -- and was told that tailoring would be quick and inexpensive with a particular independent tailor they highly recommended: Continental Custom Tailors. As they told me, it is normal to get an oversized suit and then tailor it down. Continental Custom Tailors said it would be no problem to bring the 42L in so that it fit, but that he would have to do it later (and not cheaply, I later found out). So, we did the sleeves and pants. $110 and three weeks later, I had pants that fit and an oversized 42L jacket with uneven sleeves. When another tailor in Austin, everyone who saw me in the jacket, and the suit I had to get in the meantime (39L, as I then learned was my actual size) all agreed that 42L was too big for me, I went back to the store. They insisted that 39L was too small and assured me that uneven sleeves are perfectly normal because, although they were uneven on me, some people have uneven arms. (That was their actual argument.) Only when their in-house tailor agreed that I was 39L and that 42L was too big did they at last exchange the suit for a 39L (and that had pants with a 31 waist). I still had to pay an additional $48 to tailor the new pants, but several months later I do now finally have a suit that fits -- a second one, that is, as again I had to buy another one while this whole ordeal was going on. read more

I had the worst experience with this store. First when I took my suits in for alterations, one of their Managers, Jonathan Sterling, continued to make negative comments about their sister company Men's Wearhouse and said that I should never take my suits to them. I disregarded such comments as I believed it may just be some internal issues within their company. I was told that my suits would be completed on April 26th. When I went to pick up my suits on April 28th (2 days after the due date), they had missed completing the alterations. They told me to come back the next day at noon. I was ok with it since I understood that mistakes do happen. I returned on April 29th at 11:45. The suits still weren't done and they committed to deliver them to my home when it would be done at 3:00 PM that day. I got a call at 2:00 PM to say it was done but that I had to come back. I told them that it wasn't what we agreed and they basically told me to pound sand. Their store manager, Mike Garza was very rude and hung up the phone on me. This experience has basically ensured that I will NEVER buy from Jos. A Bank again. Those two guys were a bunch of sleezy and low integrity salesmen. The company will be better off without them. They told me that they would ship my suits to me if I didn't come and get them. I had to agree to that, but reminded them that they had lied to me 3 times before and their business had an integrity issue. I asked for a refund of my money since they didn't live up to the commitment of delivering my suit on April 26th as was agreed when I paid them the money. They have refused to give me such a refund. read more

My husband needed shirts to go with a suit we bought here several years ago. The AM fitted him and said there was a BOGO sale starting soon and if we left our info, he would call in the next day or two. No call. After several days of seeing an ad for the shirt sale on TV, I called and he was going to hold the two we had previous discussed. I went the next day right at opening to get the shirts and he couldn't find them and barely remembered our conversations, then said someone must have sold them. Uh huh. Instead of helping me further, he started helping a man who came in with an emergency (airline lost his luggage) - and there were other salesmen standing around. I stood there forever waiting before he came back to me. He sold me one shirt and had to order the second but said it would be in-store within 5 days and I would get a call when it arrived. Today is day 18 and no call. I called the store today and the shirt is nowhere to be found (and the AM has quit JAB). I just got a call back that it miraculously came in today's shipment! Funny how it shows up an hour after I called. The customer service is so much worse than when we bought my husband's suit. There seems to be a lack of organization and worse, a lack of caring. After I get this shirt, I don't feel any loyalty to continue shopping this store. read more

I came to this store because I needed to get my watch fixed at Ray's Repair, and I had a wedding and a big work event coming up, both of which required me to wear a suit. I hadn't worn a proper suit in years, and the one I had was terrible - mismatched pieces, not tailored to fit at all. I was embarrassed to wear it. I was hoping I'd find something cheap that looked even marginally better than what I owned - anything, basically. After looking around the clearance section, the manager, Mike, found a beautiful suit for me for only $100. I was shocked at how beautiful and cheap it was. He tailored everything for me and found some nice shirts that went well with my new suit. I needed everything on a tight turnaround, and he personally went upstairs and tailored it on the spot. He really went above and beyond in helping me out, and enlisted pretty much the rest of the store in helping me put together a beautiful outfit. I went in dreading having to find something that looked good on practically no budget, and left feeling like a million bucks. Highly recommended. read more
