My boyfriend and I stopped in this weekend after a Costco run for him to get some measurements, as he needs a tux for a wedding party he is in. We didn't have an appointment, but after finding free parking in the lot just out front of the store, we entered and were immediately approached by an employee, who was incredibly helpful. The employee (we forget his name!) took all the measurements he needed and then gave my boyfriend some pants, a shirt, a jacket, and shoes to try on. Super disappointed with the service at this store when we went a month ahead to look for a suit for my son's junior prom. No offer at all to even discuss custom suiting for us. A younger guy with a very ill-fitting suit and flood height suit pants simply pushed my son into an off-the-rack suit, even though his waist (slim) and height (tall) are not represented in the off-rack sizes. We got stuck with having to get the pants lengthened by their tailor, who they said was "upstairs," but we weren't sent to see. Instead, the poorly-suited younger guy did the marking and even then tried to push my son to leaving the pants pleat way above the shoe line! If you're going to sell suits, you should have some idea of how they're supposed to fit. I asked the manager about possible better sizing at their sister (and cheaper) -store Men's Warehouse, which web showed as rather far from the Arboretum only in south Austin, but he wasn't able to help much and did not correct my understanding on MW's location. Turns out there's a MW in Lakeline Mall! I feel we were shafted, and 3.5 weeks later haven't received any notice that the pants hemming is ready. I tried to call the store today, but there is no answer on the published number in the middle of the afternoon. You know they're not overrun with business mid-afternoon on a weekday. read more

To preface this: I hate shopping for suits. I'm a plus-size guy (58R), and stores *never* have my sizes in stock. Shopping for clothes always sucks, but formal wear is a nightmare. I went in today after having visited multiple other stores with very little luck. I called around to other locations and was met with "Ooooo - we definitely don't have that" when I asked if they carried my sizes. Awful. But then my partner called this location as a last effort for the day. We were greeted by Chris, who was absolutely amazing. I don't think I've ever experienced better customer service. He was warm, knowledgeable, and had a deep understanding of the inventory. After leaving multiple stores earlier in the day feeling like absolute sh*t, Chris created an environment where I felt comfortable. I left feeling amazing, and with a suit ordered. They didn't have my size in the color I wanted in store, but after trying on the same suit in a different color, Chris was able to ship it directly to me. I hesitated to go somewhere like this to buy a suit. I'm mid-20's. I'm a big guy. It's hard to find things that fit, let alone fit well and feel like me. First time in this clothing store, and I was very impressed with their line of clothing. Good quality clothes, fairly priced. Was greeted by Melissa. I must say that she is top-notch, exceptional customer service, very attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about fashion. She makes herself personable to every customer she encounters, and she doesn't make you feel uncomfortable about your questions or concerns. Most retail stores are short-staffed these days, and this place is no exception. You have to wait your turn if there are others in the store being tended to. Although there was one other person working there, he never asked me if I needed help, or never showed any interest in helping me, but he was helping others. He seemed selective with whom he helped. My only dissatisfaction with this store is the lack of plus sizes. Found some shirts in the clearance section, but that's about it. No pants or other pieces that fit me well. Update: Based on my review I was asked to contact the customer service department which I did. After some back and forth and providing the same info a couple of times they were able to find the order and confirm my story below. I was offered a 30% discount on a future purchase, which would have been lower than the standard discount they provide. They also confirmed they don't have shirts anywhere in their system with the style and color I chose. They also managed to get the size wrong (again). It's like the Keystone cops opened up a clothing store. Needless to say I will not be wasting my time with this store again. How can u go lower than a single star? Yelp may need to get a special rating for Jos A Bank. Original review: I used to purchase all my suits in NJ at a Jos A Bank. Seems Jos A Bank in TX are far far worse than the NJ ones. I made the mistake of trying to purchase a simple suit and two dress shirts at this location. After waiting a while for a sales person - one finally approached me and I was able to decide on a suit. Had a minor chage for the pants and wanted two dress shirts. That's when the run around started. It turned out the store had non in my side. The sales person entered in the system to ship the shirt to my home. After a week - I recieved a single shirt(wrong size) and called the store. I spoke to Nick who told me I would need to come back to the store to clear the issue. OK - so I drove back 30 minutes. In the store - Nick was not present but a lady T. typed away and told me they don't have any shirts in my size in the entire system - A result Nick could have already told me (and even when I purchased them). I've purchased a fair bit of clothing from Joseph A Bank over the years and have always been satisfied with the quality of their clothes (especially during some of their sales), but I'm uniquely impressed by the service at the Arboretum location. I'm getting married in July and started the process for renting tuxedos for myself and my groomsmen several months ago, and the staff have been incredibly helpful from start to finish. They were flexible with pickup times, offered great style advice, spent a lot of time with me measuring my sizes, advised me on my pant and sleeve length, and have been nothing but kind. I had ordered a tux for pickup on a Monday and it wasn't ready until Wednesday (almost missed a flight waiting for it) and was given no explanation why it was late, nor an apology. They didn't seem to realize why I was upset. The return date was set for a Sunday and they messed that up as well saying it was for a Friday AND TRIED TO CHARGE ME. Want to know how upset I am with this place? I bought a suit ALMOST A YEAR AGO and I am finally getting around to writing this review because it is still so fresh on my mind. I began traveling not long after the following events took place, which is why I haven't written sooner, but no worries. I went into this place and it was pretty busy, so the employees were rushing me and quite condescending. Some guy was helping outfit me and, even though I wasn't pleased with the suit, I was suckered into buying it. It was the first time in a while that I had shopped for suits and I came in after a workout, so I felt insecure due to how I was dressed and I was just vulnerable and stupid and they took advantage of it. I felt so played and disrespected. Anyway, I came and picked up the suit when it was ready,didn't stay to try it on cause I was in a hurry, and when I did get the chance it didn't fit right. All of these things added up, I just wanted to return it. They refused because it had been altered. As if they couldn't put it back on the rack and alter it for someone else. I hate this damn place with a passion. All I wanted to do was return my suit. Get my money back, and try again. But no. Over 400 dollars that they refuse to give back to me and now I'm stuck with a suit I don't like and that doesn't fit well. I am making it a job to steer EVERYONE I KNOW away from this place, and I'm going to write this review everywhere I can, cause this place is just a horrendously dishonest business. A situation came up in which my order (3 suits) weren't available to me until after the date I was promised. I came in to pick up the suits, expressed my dissatisfaction and they more than made up for it by altering all three suits for free. This would have been over $100 there or anywhere else. Suit prices are high, but it's because this place works on gimmicky sales. Ask for buy 1 get 2 free suits and they will hook you up. Don't buy anything at full price from this place. Expect a suit to run you between 250 and 400 depending on the cut and style you want. read more

Disorganized and poor standard of service. But very cheap. I don't think I can justify coming here anymore since it took 4 visits to get a suit right. Firstly I got fitted with one person who then had to attend to someone else and I got handed off to someone else. They lost the suits we'd marked up so I had to start again. 3 hours later I was done. Then when the suits were ready to be picked up half my order was missing or not ready and they wanted to charge me alterations since they forgot before. I fought and they gave me a partial discount. By the end I didn't have the energy and just did what they told me. Don't fall into this trap like I did. I ordered 5 suits for my groomsmen the first week of July. I had called every other week to check on the status of my order since they didn't have the suits in the right sizes in stock. When the one month mark passed after ordering and they still didn't have them I was fine. Then a month and a half after ordering the associate working with me transferred to a different store. My order was supposed to be handed off to another associate. I was told that they were waiting on one more suit. Month two, still waiting on the suit... Month three. Come to find out that the associate that it was handed off to no longer works for the store. They had three of the five suits that I had ordered. Not the four as advertised. I spoke to the store manager and he refused to take responsibility for them not having my suits ordered. He placed the blame on his employees. I would assume that when an order was placed THREE months ago that it would receive at least some of his attention for not getting done. Not only did he not apologize or ask what he could due to make things right he was plain rude and questioned whether or not I knew what I was talking about. They finally ordered the suits that I needed. I will be calling everyday until those suits arrive. It is a good thing I took care of this almost a year before my wedding. I always hate to contradict reviews but I have to wholeheartedly disagree with the low star reviews here. I went with my incredibly indecisive boyfriend to get a suit for his job interviews. We spent about 3-4 hours here with a salesman/assistant manager named Guy Gum and he was absolutely phenomenal. He not only brought my boyfriend multiple suits in different colors, cuts, and styles, he helped us find everything we needed just for his interview down to the tie and cufflinks. The suit is of great quality, as are the accessories we got to go with it. When we were checking out the entire sales staff was nice and commented on our long stay with them, in a jovial way. Guy asked what jobs my boyfriend was looking for and when he realized he might know someone he gave us his card and told us to contact him. I've never had a better experience and even though it was crowded and incredibly busy we did not experience a lag in service at any point in time. It was also the last day of a huge sale so we managed to get everything the boyfriend needed for a great price. I even got him a tie for Valentine's day since they were on sale. Very disorganized store today, which appeared to be a result of an ongoing remodeling job. My salesperson had lots of difficulty finding shirts in my size and kept having to ask other employees where various items were. The good news is that they WILL match their online prices, but it takes some work to get them to "find" the discounts/prices online. This chain, and this store in particular, have slid a great deal since they first opened. Walked in, went to the counter to talk to the guy behind the counter about getting several Jos. A Bank coats altered. Stood there for about a minute waiting for​ the guy to look up. No one second, no hey, I will be with you... just heads down. Finally looked up and said very rudely... What do you want? Explained about the jackets and was interrupted​ with "Have those been dry cleaned?" I wasn't sure what or how that mattered, and yes they have been cleaned... I tried to understand why that mattered and as I am asking questions the guy (Ray by the way) interrupted again saying that they had to be dry cleaned due to a health regulation. At this point,​ I wasn't all that interested in working with Rude Ray or this location and took my coats to another tailor. read more

An incompetent staff that kept messing up our tuxedo order for our wedding, every step of the way. Jos. A Bank Customer Service and other locations have been wonderful, but this location at Arboretum needs to be re-trained. Our first day was similar to others who have reviewed, with having to greet the staff ourselves and beg for attention when they are clearly not doing anything. Side note: The most disgusting women's bathroom I have ever witnessed. But that wasn't that bad, compared to what was to come. Months before our wedding we picked out our tuxes for our guys and the staff kept telling us how early we were to be picking. Well, good thing we did, because the color we chose for the vests/bowties became discontinued. A couple weeks before the wedding, we go back in to get the groom fitted. They tell us even though our other men have already been fitted, this cypress color was unavailable for us. They didn't want to call CS that night because they were closing in 30 min, and thought the lines would be tied up. We insisted he did, and (the asst. manager) did for maybe 5 min before giving up. A couple days go by and nothing. So my groom calls and has to explain everything because no one filled anyone in on our situation, as we were told would happen. They transfer him to Mens Warehouse CS on accident. Finally after reaching Jos. A Bank CS we are informed we are still going to all get our original cypress color because we ordered it so far in advance--go us! Feeling better about everything, I go into the store and pay the full deposit on our tux rental, I get a receipt, I confirm I'm going to pick up my tux in Florida, and they agree. Two days before my wedding, everyone has a tux but my groom, because of the Arboretum store not clicking "submit" when I made the full deposit. We did not get the suit until the day of, and the ticket was still incorrect! They had the wrong date for our 'event'! Just bad management/incompetence all around at this location, they just don't care. read more

He left us to his apprentice who knew nothing and ended up measuring everyone poorly. The way they treat paying customers is disgusting. The whole process of ordering suits from Jos. Due to the pandemic my daughters wedding was cancelled. She decided last minute to have a small family ceremony. Knowing that at this point that a suit was not an option as no alterations could be done, he went to plan B and tried on his Jos A Banks suit coats that were in his closet. He has lost a lot of weight and the coats were all huge! We immediately went on line and ordered two suit coats one size smaller. When they arrived they did not fit! In a panic I called customer service. A girl named Aislinn answered the phone and I shared the situation with her and that we were in a time crunch and needed a replacement ASAP. Y'all she is the BEST! She was so understanding and reassuring and informed me that she would see to it that the jacket would arrive in time for the wedding. Is there was a way to pick ZERO star. I would do it. Most horrible customer experience in a store. Used to go to the westlake location which was great, with excellent customer service and great people always ready to help find what you need. Unfortunately they closed that location. This one at the arboretum has the most unprofessional sells men. No welcoming, no attention, not even talking to customers coming in. Even if busy you attend new customers coming, in, apologizing for the wait and telling them you will be with them in few minutes. Here, nothing of this, we were more than 4 families just hanging there in the store, not knowing who was in line and who was next. Sells guys not acknowledging us, after half an hour waiting to be at least told something, we left very disappointed and promised never put a foot in that store ever again. Went to Mens's warehouse at Barton creek mall right after and got immediately attention from an adorable vendor named Carlos who sticked to us all the time making me try multiple suits, guiding me on options and choices. And helped me find the best suit I could not even imagine. BEST suit shopping experience there ever. Men's warehouse at BC mall is now my shop. DO NOT set foot at Jos A Bank at Arboretum. I have shopped with this company, as well as my family, for 20 years. I have always had great customer service as well as a great quality product. I set up an appointment to come sit down with a "specialist" to help pick out the perfect tuxedo for my wedding day. There are ten groomsmen so this equals at least 2k in rentals. I showed up to this location and told a gentleman who was working I was here for my appointment. His response was "Uh....we will get to you when we can." It's the middle of the day on wed so I have to get back to work in an hour. I go speak to the other man who says "there are three or four in front of you." I asked if they had appointments. He said no but it didn't matter. I asked him what the point of making an appointment was and he said, "I don't know." This location is a dump and is not the standard of service that Jos.
