I originally went to Neiman Marcus for the Chanel boutique inside... but the whole place ended up being pure designer eye candy. Gorgeous displays, stunning pieces everywhere you look, and it's honestly just fun to wander even if you're just browsing. Each floor is basically a little runway of gorgeousness, and I kept catching myself doing slow laps like I was at a museum of handbags and shoes. Everything is styled beautifully, so even if you don't plan to buy, it still feels like a full designer experience. There is luxury pricing, but even if you want to just browse there are tons of options and so much help in the store for your budget. What really made it stand out though was the service. I only had an actual consultant in Chanel, but everywhere else in the store I still felt taken care of. Staff were attentive and kind without hovering, and I never got that awkward vibe of being ignored or followed. I got to browse with zero pressure, which makes all shopping so much more enjoyable. Even the parking feels fun with palm trees out front. If you're going for a certain brand or inside boutique (like Chanel), give yourself extra time to explore. This location is also right by an area with a bunch of shopping, food spots, and fun stuff to do (we even did VR nearby), so it's easy to make this stop part of a whole outing. read more

After walking through the store, I was not planning on leaving a review, but when I walked into the men's room, I realized something had to be said. Yes this is a very upscale store that is incredibly well merchandised. The bathrooms alone here out do some prominent hotel facilities. Upstairs, you'll find designer clothing, Waterford crystal, clearance racks and the bathrooms. Downstairs you'll find lots of jewelry, men's clothing, fragrances galore, makeup, designer purses, and shoes. I booked a personal shopping appointment here and the experience was extremely frustrating from start to finish. To begin with, making the appointment was unnecessarily difficult. The online phone number was ineffective. I called multiple different numbers, was redirected several times, and no one ever followed through on booking the appointment. I ultimately had to go into the physical store to schedule it in person for the following week. During booking, the stylist repeatedly got my name wrong and I had to correct her multiple times. To prep for the appointment, I shared a mood board for the event, details about the attire my family would be wearing, and my sizing. Every single one of the dresses pulled were significantly too large, including sizes well beyond what I communicated (some 5 whole sizes bigger), and majority if not all selections were completely inappropriate for the event and season. But what really did it in for me was the lack of presence. After initially being brought to the fitting room, the personal shopper disappeared and did not return. I expected her to stay for at least a few minutes so I could request a pair of heels to try on and get her initial feedback, so I stepped out to find assistance with a dress on (barefoot and without my phone) and accidentally locked myself out of the fitting room. I was left waiting outside for over 15 minutes, running around asking multiple staff members for help, before someone finally let me back in. The stylist called me on the phone a little while later to say she was preoccupied with another customer, but never showed up. Since every single dress was too large, I was not going to wait forever, and none of the options were my style, I left. Now while the Austin Neiman Marcus store may be probably the smallest Neiman Marcus I've even seen, it's the friendliest (and least snotty) Neiman Marcus store I've worked with. Everyone is always very friendly when I come here. I finally was able to purchase my dream classic Balmain blazer but it was a little big in the shoulder areas and the sleeves were slightly long for my petite frame. Because this was a Balmain blazer and I didn't want to just take it to any tailor, I decided to use the Neiman Marcus tailoring service. Svetlana was my tailor and the blazer ended up being tailored beautifully. What's more is that she also included the pieces of fabric that were cut off in a little bag for me. I really liked that because it demonstrates transparency. My blazer was also steamed too and it came out looking and fitting beautifully! I also come here quite frequently to pick up orders and the SA's at the pick up counter are also very courteous. I recently visited Neiman Marcus Domain and I have to say, I was extremely disappointed with their customer service. Not only did the workers seem disinterested and unmotivated, but I found out that they had actually banded together to fire one of their fragrence experts, Jason, because they were jealous of his personality. It's such a shame because Jason was amazing at his job, he didn't even have to try to sell cologne because he genuinely loved it and was so knowledgeable about every fragrance. But the new workers, Roman, Donna, and Franchesca, were absolutely awful. They only cared about hitting their sales numbers and would disappear if they thought you weren't going to buy anything. They didn't have any knowledge about the fragrances they were selling. It's so sad that people would stoop so low because of jealousy. But fear not, I am here to let you in on a little secret. Jomashop has the same fragrances as retailers like Neiman Marcus for half the price, and it's completely legitimate. For example, a bottle of Chocolate Greedy that costs $180 at Neiman Marcus, costs only $60 at Jomashop. Plus, they have a 100% money back guarantee. So, sorry Neiman Marcus, but if you mess with people's livelihood, you must pay. I just wandered in for a bra fitting, I cannot more highly praise Yolanda, I asked her where to get a fitting, she was in fine apparel, and she came over to help because she had experience in it. I was last fitted at Skims in a C a month ago, I knew that was nowhere close to right. I usually wear a 36DDD. Yolanda fitted me to a 34G and I could tell she really knew exactly what she was talking about. It started when I was tired of walking into Dillards or Macy's and getting ignored or mentioning a fragrance I saw a week earlier but could not find anymore only too be told I must be crazy just because the current employee hasn't seen it therefore it must have never existed . Dillards and Macys fragrance employees aren't very knowledgeable and will tell you anything even if it's a load of BS just to get you to buy something . Yes they sound convincing when talking about the difference between eau de toilette and Parfum while handing you a coffee bean filled cup claiming the human nose can only smell five scents before going nose blind and needing a reset . Funny enough Neiman Marcus has designer and niche fragrances galore and not one coffee bean cup in sight. I started collecting fragrances as a teenager and have been sorting out what my signature scent is . The older I get the fragrances I hated have become some of my favorites. Jeannine at Neiman Marcus has been there since the first day I walked in and decided I was going to try my first Creed fragrance which was Aventus. I can't tell you how much better the experience is when buying a fragrance at Neiman Marcus compared to those other places I mentioned. The employees all greet you they offer you endless samples to take home and are more than knowledgeable about what your looking for . There are scents that are for year round use and there are some that are better in specific seasons I was explained . For example as far as mens fragrances go in spring you want semi sweet floral soapy and citrus but not heavy , in summer you want soapy aquatic musky and citrus scents , in fall you want woodsy semi sweet Smokey notes and in winter you want full on powdery sweet amber smoky and tobacco notes . Also there are office appropriate fragrances and day time and nite time scents as well. Weather plays a huge roll. In hot weather sweet fragrances are overwhelming and heavy cold weather tends to cut through the sweetness and compliment the sweeter scents . In cold wether citrus scents tend to be too sharp where as in hot weather citrus and aquatic scents tend to keep you feeling fresh and alert especially when your already sweating and muggy . Keeping all this in mind these are all recommendations not some unbreakable rule. Body chemistry has a lot to do with how well you wear something. Before going to talk to Jeannine I really didn't know much about these things and just wore whatever at any given time . There is also a thing called projection which is how far you can smell a fragrance on someone's skin as well as scent trail which is what you smell after someone walks away and how long after they walk away at that. Most high end Fragrances have layers too them and you must never rub them into your skin rather just let them naturally dry, depending on how long they last you will notice different smells throughout the day. A fragrance might start off harsh and abrasive in the first few minutes and then over an hour turn into a very smooth seductive scent so give them a chance before hating on something. I now consider all these things before purchasing something new and I don't recommend blind buying any fragrance if it's something you can avoid . Always try it on and see how you like it after a day of wearing. My highest recommendations at Neiman Marcus are Creed Aventus and Parfum de Marly Layton at number 1 for a tie , Parfum de Marly Percival and Creed Greed Irish Tweed at number 2 for a tie , third place would be something not as expensive but packs a punch with two or three sprays which is updated more sophisticated and great for this fall and winter ,Dior Sauvage ELIXIR not the regular Sauvage which is still a designer fragrance and amazing . All the above have strong notes when applying but dry down to long lasting amazing fragrances. Honorable mention: Aqua di Gio Parfumo black bottle , Channel Bleu Parfum , John Paul Gaultier Ultra Male... all of which are less expressive sold at Neiman Marcus and are long lasting compliment beast of fragrances . Neiman Marcus has the worst repair policy. I bought a pair of Lola Cruz shoes for $255 seven years ago. Since then, I have only worn the shoes three times a year when I attend weddings. Arlene acknowledged that the shoes were lightly worn, in good condition and I even had the receipt. The right sole fell off and needs to be glued. They have a repair center that will take up to two months, but I am responsible for the labor cost to repair the shoes. I'm happy to pay this time since customer service didn't tell me over the phone this morning before I drove over. Every time I go to Neiman Marcus, there's never a sales associate in the undergarments department. I will be going back to Nordstrom for future purchases as they have a free repair policy for lightly worn items. read more

This Neiman Marcus location offers the best selection of clothing and perfumes of any location I've previously visited. I visited other stores that did not have items star, but I have not encountered this issue at this location. Staff are super helpful and go out of their way to help find what you're looking for and also even provide recommendations. They really seem to go above and beyond. I, myself, I have worked in retail previously and really appreciate this level of service and attention to detail. The only issue I had with this location was parking. I had to wait in line for over 30 minutes to find a parking spot, and this wasn't even during what I would consider to be a particularly busy time of day. The pricing is what you would expect from an upscale shop of this nature. There may be a slight added expense for the improved level of service versus some of their lower scale competitors, but again that's to be expected. First the positive: My husband came back to get the bracelet size changed because Ruth was able to locate it. They brought in scotch which was greatly appreciated, so I felt good about purchasing my Chanel necklace that day. Great advice on simple earings to go with necklace, so I went to Benold's to purchase 9mm pearl earings to complete my attire. Last negative experience: Ruth was adamant that my husband's bracelet was the correct size the first time and than changed her tune when the large sized arrived. I came back to get an idea of the next chanel purse I would purchase if I happened to find another one to go with my new necklace since I felt my black and gold chain clashed. Ruth's response was she couldn't take the necklace back since I've worn it. First of all that's not what I came for so; it was insulting. I tried to over look it by asking to get look at YSL, but again I was brushed off. I decided than and there that I would never make a purchase from Ruth. I still love my necklace and purse. Normally I tend to shop at those fancy french places like "Le Mart du Wal," but a while back someone suggested my closet needed cleaning out and restocking and that she knew just the person at N-M to help me do it and still stay on a budget. It was then that I was introduced to Mila, who normally works in women's wear, but also knew the menswear section like the back of her hand and was able to steer me to the sale items, markdowns, and clearance merchandise that put decent clothes in my closet for not much more than I'd have spent elsewhere. And what I have noticed is the degree to which buying cheap clothing is a false economy, since the stuff I've bought at N-M is better made and lasts longer. Mila has been very good at following up with me periodically as the seasons change (and the sales occur) to make sure I'm taking best advantage of what the store has to offer at any time. And that level of personal service has been invaluable. She's also known all the tricks of tailoring, which has meant as I've lost weight (and I've dropped about 70 pounds in the past 18 months), I've been able to keep much of the clothing I've bought along the way. Some of what she and the tailors have done has resulted in some of my clothes fitting better now after massive alteration than they did when I first put them on. Slowly a lot of my old clothes are going to Goodwill, and I'm pleased that thanks to having the help of someone like Mila who knows fashion, my closet is getting thinned to where it has much fewer items in it -- but they're all of higher quality and much easier to mix and match. And I'd rather have a few good things on hangars than a closet overstuffed with junk. But that's the value add of a higher level of customer "touch" that you get at a higher end store. And I've certainly seen that evaluated over the long haul, it's not much more difficult or expensive to be fashionable (and have a closet door that actually closes because there's not so much junk behind it). read more

I therefore informed the employee that I was placed in this room by an employee. I therefore decided too leave the fitting room before completing my fittings. Fantastic store! Me and my friend went here and spent hours in the store. We had a lovely sales associate (Jan, I think?) and tried on dozens of things we liked. We tried on a lot of expensive clothing but Jan trusted us with it and answered all the questions we had! My friend even ended up getting a beautiful dress she found (around $60. Quite a steal!) I've been in here multiple times since it's open browsing to see if there is anything worth buying. I will say that the numerous times I've come here to look prior to making an actually purchase wasn't the best experience I've had. The selection of items, are not for me, maybe it's because I don't ever have the need for $500 flip flops, or $150 T-Shirts. I do however have a weakness for purses so I tend to gravitate over there. Austin has a limited selection of designer purses or even stores that sell any except for Neiman's and LV outside. The customer service here is kind of what you typically experience at other "high end" stores, they only seem to cater to you if you look like a person who is a have vs. a have nots. So I wouldn't expect too much help from these people. As for products, the products in the stores are different from the actual designer stores, Neiman's has their own selection of things that they will get. There is Chanel, Prada, and Gucci here, plus I think a small Tory Burch section, but the Domain already has a Tory store. I have had some up and down service at the Chanel boutique. This past time I got help from a nice guy named Nathan. I purchased a Chanel wallet that he had to call other stores and get shipped into the store for me. He was very helpful, he called when the wallet was found and then called again to tell me my order had arrived at the store. He was there when I came to pick up. He's extremely nice compared to the other people I've encountered at NM, he would help me with whatever item I was looking at and didn't judge me on what I was wearing or if I could afford it or not. read more

Chanel boutique specific review- SA was unprofessional and lacking in communication skills. We were not greeted upon entry to the boutique. There was one lady who I honestly thought was a customer trying on clothes (wearing workout clothes and a Valentino bag). Once she was done looking at herself in the mirror she asked if we needed help. I explained I was looking for a specific Chanel bag. She said she would help me find the bag I asked for since they didn't have any in store at this location. Didn't ask me specifics about the bag- the metal color, because it currently comes in both silver or gold, nor the leather type, caviar or lambskin, because again it comes in both options. I told her those then she acted surprised and noted them in her phone (along with my phone number). She said she'd get back with me the next day Sunday.... nothing. Monday comes and goes... nothing. I text her Tuesday to see if she could find it. She said she was still looking, then nothing back from her for 6 days. I was able to walk into Chanel in Dallas, which miraculously had this bag in stock and purchased it. Sounds like Tiffany didn't look very hard for this bag. My wife walked the perimeter of your store 2x before anyone asked if they could help her. This is our third visit and this wasn't too much of a surprise. We are very sad about Sax closing. Y'all really make them look good. 2. One of your service providers fussed at my 2 year old and now daddy is mad. Now for the narrative of events. My boy asked if he could play with the peddle car. I told him to ask the nice lady. She said you bet. A few minutes later an old grouchy lady probably returning from break spoke in harsh tones to my son. "You can't play with that, put it away" I explained that we had both asked permission and for my son to be brave enough to ask - that was a two year old accomplishment. It was my first time here because I needed to exchange my Louis Vuitton wallet for a Chanel one. Because I purchased the wallet at NM in the Houston Galleria, I wasn't sure if I could return it here due to this location not having an LV boutique. Prior to my arrival, I called the 1-800# for customer service and they assured me that it wouldn't be a problem. Well, come to find out.. it sort of was. I wasn't able to get immediate credit for an exchange, but the Operations Manager, Rich, was able to ship my wallet overnight back to where I originally bought it. Being at the 14-day point of return, he assured me that if I ever encountered a problem, to notify him and he would make sure I would receive credit. He stated that LV leases their boutique within Neiman Marcus and they do not share the same store policies. Good to know. After that matter was handled, I went to Chanel anyway to see what their selection was like. Immediately upon entering the boutique, Maggie greeted us as if we were family. She was the most sweetest and friendliest SA I've ever met. She was also extremely patient with my requests to view multiple items and provided uninterrupted one-on-one attention despite other clientele waiting their turn for assistance. But I adore the level of customer service, the exquisite merchandising, the glittery make up counters, and the fact that they always let me browse without any pressure or sneers. In fact, someone usually tries to help me. Fun fact: my grandmother always counted Stanley Marcus as a family friend. He frequently bought pecans from our farm to give as corporate presents. And he'd usually send our family some interesting, gorgeous present, accompanied by the lush Holiday Catalog (which is a wonder of Texas oil extravagance -- indulge in browsing when you get the chance). This is a great Neiman Marcus especially if you're looking for the brands you love without the brand name all over the items. I'm always greeted in every section, offered lemon water, and the service is so kind. This particular Neimans doesn't have a cafe which is a bummer. I always loved grabbing a cocktail with a girlfriend at their cafe when I lived in California. This might be a smaller location but the items are worthwhile. There's a reason why you're paying for quality, workmanship, and material. I might not find myself here as often but I still come when I'm needing some classic staples for my wardrobe. read more

Dropped into NM today on a hunt for the perfect dress or two. We were helped by the fabulous Brady in Dress Collections. We found a beautiful "Sue Wong Cocktail Dress" and Brady made sure we had the right size. She also supplied us with a cold drink to enjoy while shopping and trying dresses on. Even when it started to get busy she kept checking in with us. On the way out another NM sales associate assisted us in fragrances, I do not recall her name however, she was very helpful and attentive. The overall experience was great but I can not give this NM the full 5 stars. The selection is just too small. I realize they can order in for you but typically when you shop you want to purchase and leave with your item that day! read more
