Quite possibly the worst retail experience shopping for men's clothing I think I've ever had. And to top it all off, this was for my wedding, thinking they would take care of a 13-person wedding, ordering suits from one location. That was a terrible idea. The female that helped me was very nice, but she simply screwed up my order. Their computer system was down, so she had to FAX IN my order. Then I had to wait an hour while she did it. Then I find out she triple-charged my credit card in over $1000 in extra expenses! She apologized, but it was simply unacceptable. The extra order was sent to my home. I had to take these back to the UPS Store to have them shipped back. And now I'm finding out that the suits sent to men in different cities are wrong. It's a groom's worst nightmare. Was going to let this one go, but then I called to check on the status, and I was on hold for 7 minutes before I finally hung up. I'm not quite sure how this location is still in business. Poorly ran, poorly executed. I sent a note to corporate, and she apologized by sending me a $25 gift card. Thanks Jos. A Bank. read more

Didn't buy anything on my visit and likely won't be returning. Needed to get a suit and get it tailored within a week. Figured I should hit Jos A Bank because they're always running some terrific sales. The gentleman who first approached me explained the pricing on the current sale, but it made absolutely no sense so I just picked a suit I liked and tried it on. Went back to ask him questions and he directed me to someone else who kept saying he didn't know. The original guy answered all of my questions, so needless to say the entire experience was strange. Given my tight timeframe, I didn't appreciate the inability to give me any kind of answer - ie, tailoring "usually takes two weeks but sometimes less." Ok then. There was no urgency from him or anyone else to help me or make the sale, so I put the suit back and went elsewhere. read more

This place is amazing. It hasn't been reviewed since 2012, so let's chalk the previous reviews up to old management. I can't recommend this place highly enough. I haven't bought a suit in over 10 years and needed one for a wedding. Upon walking in the staff was super welcoming and we got down to business. After shopping around online for suits, the prices at Joseph A Bank were amazingly reasonable. From suit selection, ordering (I had to do suit separates since I'm a naturally-sized dude), fast delivery, tailoring, fast tailoring delivery, and final suit-in-hands walk-out-the-door the guys at Joseph A Bank were amazing. I was helped through the entire process through an associate as well as the store manager. Asking for pointers on how to tailor, how it should fit (again, I hadn't bought a suit in over 10 years), the guys were extremely nice and helpful and I left feeling confident that I had spent the money at the right place. I even popped back in to buy a pocket square for my suit and they had a great selection at reasonable prices. If I ever need another suit or have a friend who does, THIS will be the first location I refer people to. read more

I typically don't leave reviews but because my experience has been surprisingly a breath of fresh air, professional and on-time delivery, I feel I would be doing a service for not leaving a review. Let me first say, I've held off shopping at Jos Bank for a number of years. Their commercial came across a bit snobbish and  very high-end prices (judging a book by it's cover), so I really only walked in the store once and never went back. Little did I know, one location doesn't capture the breath and depth of their product line and price point. I'm kicking myself for waiting so long. Not only is their a wide array of prices but the website is so easy to navigate. Listen, I make a very good living but I'm extremely frugal and hate spending money on overprices items to be let down by the quality of the work and longevity of the material / service. I've recently became a loyal customer last year and have ordered multiple items online. The measurements I had submitted came back perfect. The website is very easy to navigate. You're able to hold items in your cart very several days, while you make decisions. Once you make a purchase, I'm able to track my orders (can't let the mrs. Know about everything. Lol!) in real-time and man, are the quick to process. Not only can you see your order but they tell you which orders are still in process (alternations) and which have been shipped all in the same communication. I had to return one item just because I didn't like the color in person but (Oakbrook store) the gentleman was friendly and professional. Did he try and get me to look around and make an additional purchase yes, and I would n't expect anything less. But he only asked once. The return process was smooth and seamless. Let me reiterate, I'm extremely focused on customer service and many companies drop the ball on several fronts. I really expected any alternations would take several weeks and possible delays. I've been dragging my feet about writing this review since it was more of an issue for my groom than for me personally, but since it was our wedding it's about time I write it. I'm not sure how this could be so confusing as people get married every day in every city in every state. I also have to imagine that our wedding party was not the only one in history where the groomsmen live in and traveled from different areas of the country to stand up in a wedding. We went to Jos A Bank because we thought that they could handle this scenario better (from a customer service perspective) than Men's Warehouse could. I am not so sure about that now. When my groom showed up to pick up his tux two days before the wedding it was not there. When his father picked his up at a store out of state, he opened it up after arriving in Chicago to find that they gave him a tuxedo with no pants. Our ring bearer arrived at his local store a few days before the wedding to find out that, despite the fact that he was fitted for a tux, the order was somehow never placed by the associate that helped him. Another groomsman that lives in Chicago (and yes, this should be the easiest one since he didn't even need to travel) showed up at this store to find out that his tuxedo was sent to the Schaumburg store. They even told him that it was done at his own request... really? Also, when my groom changed his mind about pocket squares a few weeks after we placed the initial order we stopped in to another Jos A Bank location to update it and were told that orders can only be edited at the store in which they were initially placed. I will say that this store did everything that they could to rectify these issues and every one of the men in our party did manage to show up at the wedding in full tux. However, the additional stress and running around that they had to do in the two crucial days before (and the day of) the wedding was really unnecessary. I realize that this review is slightly unfair as not all of these annoying instances occurred due to service we received at this specific location, but the bottom line is that they did happen. And for a store/company that specializes in outfitting wedding parties you would think that it wouldn't be too difficult to coordinate this correctly. read more

This place is a life saver for men working in the West Loop. Great convenient location with where the trains are. I had an emergency where coffee spilled all over me on the train ride to work. Instead of looking like a dork in meetings with coffee stains over my shirt, I had to buy a new shirt ASAP. This place opens at 8 AM, and I conveniently used the fitting room to change into a new dress shirt I got from the clearance rack, took off the tags, and gave the tags to the guy at the register to pay for it. Pretty smooth, and was only setback by 15 minutes of my day. again, lifesaver. read more

I have been in and out of this store for a number of years due to to convenience to my train. They have discounts all of the time and the clothing is certainly reasonable made of some quality. While I don;t find their dress shirts reasonable at $100 a piece, if you monitor the sales you can get 3 to 4 for $100. I have always had very nice sales people and I was in there recently and was provided with recommendations and did not feel rushed. Location can't be beat if you need to grab something quick as well. read more

Company is a racket to begin with but the execution of this location in particular is poor. On the corporate side, more than half of the groomsman/ushers that rented suits were unable to find an appropriately cut shirt and nearly all billow out like a snowman. No hemming was completed prior to first fit and some slacks were in excess of four inches too long. I received no call that the tux was ready for first fit. I was then promised that I would receive a call that afternoon that the tux would be adjusted and ready. A call was never received and it was not until I returned in person the next day that I was told the tux was ready. Upon asking if there was a slim cut, I was told "better buy, good luck with a rental." Very disappointing but unfortunately Men's Wearhouse is just as much of a joke. On the upside, most of the staff was cordial and there was no wait for service. read more

Terrible customer service! Came into the store today to get fitted for a suit for a wedding and my "fitting" consisted of me trying on a jacket and that's it! No measurements of my chest, waist , inseam etc. The employee must of felt like I was a waste of time. Its funny how one employee can affect a customer from ever shopping at a particular company! read more

I recently stood up in a wedding and rented a tux from here. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The tux came in early and they quickly notified me. I went in and tried on the tux and it fit perfectly. The wedding was on a Saturday and they normally ask for tuxes to be returned on the following day, but they were very accommodating and allowed me to return it the following Monday. Been wanting to hit this store for awhile so I did today. Needed 2-3 pairs of pants and a bunch of shirts. The clothing seemed reasonably priced but didn't see a sizing list anywhere. And with at least 5 people mulling around the store, you think one of them could have asked me if I needed help. Guess the "deer in the headlights" look wasn't enough. At least they said 'welcome' and 'bye now'. That earned them a 1 star rating. read more

Awful, awful and awful! Worst customer service I have ever experienced and the rudest sales associates. Attempted to work with this store for wedding tuxedos...you would think they might want the business for 10 tuxs! They did not have samples in the store for grey tuxedos so they said they would order them. We went in to view them and walked in the store in a bit of a hurry. Three sales people looked at us without asking if we needed assistance. We asked one man (younger, black man) if he could help us with wedding tuxedos and he half snorted (not joking) and said he didn't do the tuxedos and walked away. I was already furious at that. Then we spoke to an older gentleman who was trying to be as helpful as possible. They ended up only ordering one of the two samples we had asked to see so it was a complete waste of time. They said they would order the 2nd sample and we could come back to see it...that was about two weeks ago and still have not heard a word from them. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! While leaving the store a woman told us to have a nice evening which I didn't respond to but my fiance said 'thanks, you too' and the same young, black man snorted, AGAIN, at us as we walked out. I almost turned around to say something extremely rude back to him however I figured I could just write a review on here and hope that no one ever buys anything from this specific store again. DO NOT SHOP HERE, they don't want or deserve your business! If anyone from JOS A BANKS read this please take my advice and fire the entire staff at your West Madison Street store. read more

Horrible customer service, horrible sales person. I went there today to buy a suit for my husband because I saw Jos A Bank's commercial yesterday saying they had suits for 199. First thing the lady did was to dress my husband with a $248 suit. I said I wanted the 199 one and she said they did not have the color I wanted. It is a lie. Of course they did. Buy their decent clothes during their great sales but do yourself a favor and take them elsewhere for tailoring.

The customer service could be A LOT better. The gentlemen that work there are cold and impersonal as if you're bothering them by asking them to do their job and help you. No customer who is spending money at any establishment should feel like they're a bother. I thought it was just me, but coming online and seeing that other people have had a similar experience speaks volumes. At this point, someone needs to make a corporate complaint because it doesn't seem like our voices are being heard here. read more
