I was in a group of groomsmen to get sized for suits under a reservation. When we arrived we were told as soon as we walked in just looking at our group that we would not be able to pick the grey color the groom requested we get. The salesman said due to some of the groups body shapes our only selection was a blue suit or black. The salesman seemed irritated that he had to deal with our group and didn't have any room to work with us. It almost seemed like he told us he couldn't make the suit work just to get us out the door. We left and went to men's warehouse in West Hartford and had a completely opposite experience. If you are in the market for a suit, skip this store and head to men's warehouse. read more

I ordered a suit for my son's senior ball at Jos A. Bank, 140 Glastonbury Blvd, Glastonbury. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The suit's quality was extremely poor and felt grossly overpriced. Honestly, it didn't even look new -- I pointed out that it looked a bit dirty, and the sales lady just offered to steam it to "make it OK." After only one wear, the seam on the shoulder ripped. When I returned to the store to request an exchange, they came up with every excuse not to honor it and insisted on steaming the suit before they'd even consider fixing it. Overall, the customer service was terrible, and the pricing does not match the quality. I wouldn't recommend anyone shop here. It really felt like the store manager prioritized making money over maintaining the store's reputation. read more

Clothes are mid-quality and they still can't deliver on time. I ordered a suit and blazer for a business trip and was promised delivery in 5 days so I could get them altered locally. I ordered suits online that didn't fit, so I brought them in to return, and Isabella was super helpful. She pointed out some shirts that were on sale and would look good on me, and when I mentioned that the suit i kept came in wrinkled, she immediately offered to steam it and help remove the wrinkles. in the meantime, I shopped some more and got a few more things. Terrible experience with the store return policy. The clerk would not look up my transaction to return an item I never even used.

The orders arrived quickly, I tried the suits on and didn't like them, then I decided to return them to the Glastonbury store. When I arrived at the store, the gentleman who helped me, while not very knowledgeable of his company's own policies, was nice enough. I should point out that he asked me to write down my credit card number in order to perform a return. I refused and the return seemed to go smoothly from that point on. Fast forward to late December 2014. Yes, one month later, I received only ONE OF TWO refunds. During the weeks before and after Christmas, I made several phone call and email attempts to contact the Glastonbury store and the online ordering customer service. None of my emails were returned. The phone calls went like this: ------------------------------------------- A. JAB Customer Service: "Please give me your info and someone will call you back in 24-48 hours." B. JAB Glastonbury Store: "I don't understand what's going on...I called customer service and they are very busy with the holidays...We'll call you back within the hour...Please give me a few more days." ------------------------------------------- This wasn't the first time I had a sub-par experience with JAB, but this was by far the worst retail return experience I have had. On multiple occasions on the phone, the store manager, Gregory, placed all responsibility on JAB customer service. Since his store mailed the suits back, he felt as if he had done his part. That's great, but that attitude didn't help the customer one bit. I would not recommend JAB at all, never mind their Glastonbury store. Who closes a retail clothing store from 2:00 to 2:30 on Saturday afternoon for "lunch"? Unaware of the mid-afternoon lunch break, I happened to arrive at 2:20. I along with others waited (in the rain) until 2:45 when the store clerks finally came strolling out of the back to unlock the door. No apologies... nothing. Went in 2 months before I needed my suit for my sisters wedding. Took 1 week to order the first suit. It was the wrong size, so another week to reorder the 2nd suit. I go in to get it sized and they cant get it sized in time for my first wedding I needed it for a week later (1 month after the initial order at the store). So I went to the first wedding with sleeves longer than my fingers. Today (3 days after the first wedding) I go in to have it resized and I have to wait for someone to help another gentleman first. I over hear him tell the dresser he needed it by NEXT Wednesday (6 days away) and he gets a "No Problem". My turn. I get sized and then when I tell them I need my suit by the 9th, 11 days away and 5 days after the guy before me they said no problem to, they tell me "We can help you". Now Im left to go find another tailor somewhere and hope they can do it in 2 weeks. What a crap shoot its been dealing with this store. A LITTLE MORE THAN 2 MONTHS WAS NOT ENOUGH TIME for Jos A Bank to get and size a suit! read more

I shopped here a few times years ago but was turned off by the cold stares and indifference of the sales staff. They seem to not want to bother selling to me. I went back and today because I needed a specific item. There was only one other customer in the store. There were three salespeople - and they could barely bothered to even look in my direction. I left without buying anything and will never come back again. I don't know how store stays in business. read more

horrible service. Indian guy with the Jerry curl tried to sell me a suit that was way too big. telling me the tailor can fix it. I told him it was too big to be brought in. he argued with me till the seamstress came out and said it was too big. long story short I ended up walking out. horrible service, just wanted a sale. never going back!!! read more

Don't rent a tux from Jos. A Banks! 1st issue: Too expensive. 2nd: We went to pick up the tux because we got a call, and the alterations hadn't happened, so we had to go back again. 3rd: We were a day late, so we were hit with a $20 late fee, plus $1.20 tax on the late fee. ;( read more
