This is nice a TJ Maxx that's only a few minutes away from Main Street in Glastonbury. It's not a big store, but it's well packed with items for men, women, kids, pets, and home. With the holidays quickly approaching, there's plenty sparkly holiday gear, as well as "Ugly" Christmas sweaters. There's a nice variety of holiday decor for your home. Depending when I go, the line to checkout can be pretty long, but they have several cashiers working, so it's a pretty quick process. read more

I pretty much now live at this TJ Maxx. My friend and I are here at least once a week on our lunch break and they have the cutest decorative pillows. Clothes wise, they have a good selection, but I can never find pants at this store for some reason. I highly recommend their mug aisle, they've got a really extensive section. I just wish they had more of a variety of bag options, they usually just have one kind and not different patterned ones. read more

I love this place! Shopping hasn't been the same since the pandemic started, but TJ Maxx is still great. They have great protocols in place, and have been getting lots of fun items in stock to celebrate the holidays. On on a very busy day, the cashier provided exceptional service as she was very friendly professional and also helpful. Basic tj Maxx. I usually shop in Norwich but stopped in while I was in the area. This one looks much smaller but was pretty well organized. Much less variety than the other stores. I found an item for $12.99. The cashier was very unfriendly yelling NEXT to me while I was browsing. She didn't converse or ask questions, just saying my total at the end. After I left I realized the sweater was the wrong size from what was on the hanger and chocolate covered cherries I bought are actually expired. read more

I heart TJ Maxx / Marshall's / Home Goods. That said, this location has a very limited selection of items compared to most others and the customer service is a hit or a miss, depending on who''s working that day. I try to limit my visits to this store and almost always score bigger and better when I go to a different location. I would recommend shopping around at other locations before settling here. read more

This spot is rather empty of people, but the women's clothing racks are stuffed! I'd say this is one of the best shoe selections I've seen at a store like this. There's not much to be said for the men's clothing or housewares section, however. read more

I have been visiting this TJ Maxx for about 5 years now. Very rarely have I left empty handed. They have a fabulous selection of clothing that is constantly changing. I hate paying retail for anything, so if I can get an Anne Klien outfit for $16 that still has the $60 tag on it, I'm all over it! All the brands you see at a retail mall are here (American Eagle, Tahari, Lapis, Anne Klein, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Izod, etc, etc, etc). They only really offer womens shoes, no childrens or mens. As space is limited, shoes tend to be clearance priced pretty quickly. Check out the last couple racks regularly and you should get some really good deals. I got a pair of Tahari sandals for $20 that retail for around $240, in the summer of 2010. The housewares section is pretty large, considering the relatively small footprint of this store. Typical towels, knick knacks, kitchen gear and a boat load of linens and pillows. The last aisle of this section is usually dedicated to whatever holiday season is coming up. Per usual operation for this store, clearance items are located on the end caps, facing the rear wall. The selection is OK, but the Marshalls/Homegoods on the Silas Deane has this segement cornered. If I cannot find something at that store, this is usually my second stop for hunting. The baby and toddler children's clothing section is decently sized. Juniors section dominates a good 1/3 of the clothing racks here, 2nd only to womens. I can't really comment on the Mens department, hubby has been getting his clothes at Mens Warehouse or Cabelas for several years now. I love to shop here for toys. Over the years I have found Melissa and Doug toys, lots of Dinsey and Sesame Street branded merchandise and random things (like Playmobil) too. Around Christmas the toy section grows a good bit and you can likely get most of your holiday shopping (for kids under about 10 anyways) done in one fell swoop. I cannot comment on the purse or luggage section, I haven't bought new luggage since my wedding and I get knock off purses in Chinatown every year. Your guess is as good as mine on that part of the store. For anyone remotely curious, the restrooms are in the rear, right hand side of the store. These were renovated a couple years ago now and looks great. Recently, TJMaxx and Marshalls finally started to honor each others gift cards! Yay! They've only been part of the same company for almost a decade now. But, any returns for Marshalls still have to go back to Marshalls. They will join the 21st Century eventually. Staff here has been pretty nice over the years. There are a couple of sales clerks with attitude, but I am going to go out on a limb here and say I think they are summer help only. Overall, this is a nice, small TJ Maxx. It's never too crowded, which is a huge plus for me. Also, I can bring my kids and browse for an hour or so and not feel like we're bothering anyone. In the Marshalls on the Silas Deane, sometimes the older ladies give us the stink eye and it gets annoying. Please give this TJ Maxx location a try, it's a hidden gem! read more

This has got to be the best TJ Maxx I've ever seen. That's not saying much... akin to "This is the best plain oatmeal I've ever tasted!", but nevertheless, I was impressed when my fiance and I stopped by for some impulse shopping last night. Organization is the best asset here. I'm certain that the totality of merchandise in this store is little different than any other second-market retail store in the area, but the staff presents it in a way that makes the experience feel like much more than rummage shopping. Also, I was actually asked if I needed help! Unprovoked! And the nice girl at the jewelry counter was happy to show my fiancee a necklace she liked, just for fun. This level of attention at Tj Maxx is certainly a pleasant shock. I walked out with a few things. A light green golf shirt, a small frying pan, and a plastic thingy to keep hot dogs fresh in the fridge. Now those are impulse buys! The total was sixteen bucks and change, certainly can't complain. read more

This TJ Maxx is conveniently located between work and home for me. It's always a clean and well organized store. They do have good prices on a lot of items and I always dig through any clearance sale sections. I don't shop for clothes, but I'm always in the purses, shoes, home goods and pet sections. This is one of those places I always end up spending more money than I intended because I find things I want (and probably don't need). read more

Love this TJ because they have high quality items & a lot in stock. Unfortunately I had a very bad past experience here at the time of my check out process. The women ringing me out was very helpful but couldn't help process a return. I kindly asked to speak with the manager about it and a women named Monique (who didnt have a name tag on i had to later ask her name) checking a customer out 2 registers over yelled "YOURE RUDE" to me. Then Courtney C - a coordinator came over with an attitude and told me she was in charge and I couldnt return my phone case because its a marshalls item (even though I have done this numerous times before). Within a minute the male manager came over & told me he would be able to complete the return with no issues. I let him know of Monique and Courtneys behaviors and he apologized deeply for their behavior. Thankfully part of the management was up to par, unfortunately the cashiers were way out of line. read more

It's touch & go at TJ's for me. It seems I can never find quite what I'm looking for but yet somehow I never leave empty handed because I always find something else really cool to take home. Last night I was looking for some work clothes - nothing fancy since I'm fortunate enough to work in a business casual environment - but found only 1 dress. HOWEVER, I did get a Buddha statue, a squeaky dog toy, some flavored coffee and a new insulated lunchbox. Word to the wise - don't use the restroom there. Trust me on that. Just awful. read more

I adore this tjmaxx they have us women covered clothing wise. Also customer service is always spot on :) The only reason I give it 3/5 stars is because the men's and children section is lacking. I can barely find any workout clothing for men and finding cute clothes for kids 2t and under is very challenging. If you guys stock up here as well as colognes and perfumes you guys would be awesome! read more

Once upon a time, TJ Maxx used to have some really snazzy clothing. Even in the not-so-hot times, if you searched through the racks enough, you'd likely find a gem or two hiding amongst the pebbles. Nowadays, it's just a bunch of dull rocks as far as I'm concerned. When I come here, I usually head to the bath/body section, where you can find a fascinating mix of products you may not need but MUST have. I've also picked up a few cute pairs of Sofft shoes and their kitchenware section is kitschy in a good way. The handbag section's been getting better too; not as much gaudy Juicy Couture and Kathy van Zeeland purses as before. Basically, I go there for everything but the clothes. read more
