I visited this location on a Saturday afternoon. It was very crowded with about eight customers and only two sales people trying to measure and help everyone. I ended up buying two tuxedo shirts that had studs and cuff links displayed in the package. I got home and both shirts had only one cuff link. I called the store since I live 45 minutes away and was told that the older version of the shirts only came with one cufflink. He quickly offered to give me the second cufflink for each shirt if I drove back up to the store. I appreciated it, and drove back to the store however I feel this is a bad business practice and was not happy about having to spend another hour and a half traveling back-and-forth to the location. read more

Went here yesterday with my boyfriend so he can get a nice tailored suit for an upcoming wedding we're attending. We looked online for places that can do his measurements and there were a few in the area with this one being the closest. Jos A Bank had a sale going on as well so we visited them to see if we can get a good deal. Danny greeted us right away and asked what we need. He helped with everything-- the measurements, style recommendations, etc. My boyfriend ended up with a good looking suit! They have a clearance section where you can get knit sweaters for $15 as well so we took advantage of that great deal. Overall, it was a $400+ trip but that's the suit, alterations, tie, dress shirt, and the sweater. I think that's a good deal! Employees were very friendly, but I'm highly disappointed in the fit of the shirts. Last time I came, one employee spent at least half an hour trying stuff on with me and telling me what fit vs what didn't. Today, I was assisted for all of 5 minutes. Told the employee I did not like the fit of the shirts and he told me it fit me. The two shirts I was given also fit completely different from the ones I tried on in store. One of my best friends is getting married in two weeks back home in Wisconsin. I have now lived in Arizona for three years and being this is my first wedding back home I was nervous about getting fitted as well as packing and traveling with my wedding suit. When I went in I was greeted warmly and customer service was great at this location. I used to work in the financial industry and come to the stores all the time. Usually when people come in for rentals I feel as if the employees at certain locations almost feel frustrated/annoyed. But the gentleman at this location really took it upon himself to make sure I felt welcome and fitted properly. Everything went great and couldn't be happier. They also are able to ship my suit so I don't have to worry about traveling with it in a suitcase or any problems that could incur before the wedding. read more

From reading the yelp reviews I was hesitant to bring my 6'5" tall boyfriend in to get a new suit for a wedding we will be attending. Ok, so I got suckered into checking this place out one day because of their Buy 1 get 2 FREE TV commercial. After hearing it 100x on TV, it finally got to me and I had to check it out. There's a large selection of suits. They're made from a variety of places around the world....Mexico, India, Southeast Asia....and the quality ranges form OK to poor. The OK quality suits were severely overpriced at $1100....yes, that's right, $1100. Ok, so that means the Buy 1 get 2 free really means 3 suits for $1100....that's if you're on the ok end of the quality scale. The poor quality suits are priced around $400....so that's $133 per suit on the low end of the scale. Well, forget that.....I can get better suits elsewhere. I just couldn't get myself to pay that kind of money. I'd rather have 1 very nicely tailored Italian suit for $1100 than some ok tailored suit from some other country. the female manager at the north scottsdale store has an attitude issue and was insulting and demeaning in front of her staff and other customers in the store. we arrived at the store to return a defective shirt -- the sleeve elbow was torn and we have had the shirt only about 2 months. we returned it to get a replacement and were told that we had the same issue with another shirt and Jos A Bank already replacement one shirt... i replied "then your quality control staff is not addressing the issue of the thin fabric on these sleeves of ecru color shirts" and if the quality cannot last longer than 2 months for $55 per shirt, then we have a bigger problem. she insulted us by stating louding, implying that we were just trying to get a new shirt --- not to mention that we purchase 3 other shirt and a blue blazer just last week... but she wanted to use her power to make us sweat it out --- like we were some level of criminal??? her attitude, customer service skills and just outright nasty behavior should have this one removed from the store... she is the poster child for what NOT to do with a customer... deplorable and just appalling how a manager could set that stage for building a "return" for more purchases... who and how did she get this position? a nightmare experience and one that did not include a "sorry for the inconvenience or sorry that the shirt did not hold up as we expect"... just an insulting person who i would never speak to at any other situation ! One guy just stood at the register and when we started to walk toward him he walked away. We couldn't get any help and stood at the front of the store with another couple who were also ignored. So, I wrote a review about my recent experience purchasing a shirt - - yes, just one shirt - - online. I arranged to have the shirt shipped to the store, as it's just easier for me to pick it up when I have time. Anyway, my experience with the store manager (Scottsdale store) was, to say the least, terrible. She was nasty on the phone when I called to check on the status of my order, telling me that she was too busy to help me and to call back some other time. She then hung up on me. Well, fast forward to today when I got an email from the company asking me to review my recent experience. I wrote a review where I said the product itself was just fine, but also pointing out my terrible experience with the manager. About an hour later, I got the following email from Jos. A. This is a very poor managed store! I went in to order 6 custom suits for my wedding. It took over 3 hours to even begin the process. Every suit came back wrong and did not fit properly. They had to be redone and even then, the grooms did not fit. There was a different person working every time. Whenever we had something in the store to be tailored or hemmed, we would have to call them to check on the status. Multiple times they acted like they didn't know what suits we were talking about, had a hard time finding them etc. We spent thousands and it took month to get this figured out. We finally got them back 5 days before the wedding. Will never go back to this store or invest in them. read more

Terrible customer service. My first day I went in I had to get sized under my brothers wedding party. A 10-20 minute trip turned into an hour and a half because the staff was poorly trained. When I finally got to the end of the data entry portion, they told me the "system was down" and they'd call me later. I didn't receive a call. Then I called the next day and was told I would need to call the following day to speak to the same employee. After finally getting a hold of the employee on day 3 I was told I was going to be charged a late fee!!! This location is so unorganized. None of the staff here are truly helpful and just tell you what you want to hear to get you to buy a suit. We ordered 8 suits and vests from them for our bridal party. When the suits and vests came in, almost none of the vests and jackets matched. At first I thought they were completely different suits yet they all had the same group number. Half of the jackets and vests were lined with blue and half were lined with black. The girl working did not see this as a problem. We specifically had all of our groomsmen purchase the SAME suit to look the SAME. When I asked if we could order more to make them all the same color, the store associate just replied that it's out of her control and even if we ordered new ones they could still come in mismatched. This is totally unacceptable and unreliable considering you're spending a few hundred dollars on a suit. Save your time and order from Men's Wearhouse. read more

I have dressed in Jos A Bank clothes for 39 years and that's the only reason I am writing this review. I hope someone see's it and takes action to reverse an ugly decline in service and the store in general. I stopped in to take advantage of a sale that they emailed me for men's slacks intending to purchase two pair as a gift and one for myself. After a sales person directed me to the assortment of slacks by category size and price I selected two pair and then went to check out. I was then charged 30 dollars more per pair than advertised on the email to me. When I balked the Staff challenged me on the email and demanded to see the price I was quoted. ( the price is all over the web site and even on words with friends). I left the store obviously dissatisfied. After arriving home I purchased the three pair at the price I was emailed on line with no obnoxious sales and management staff to deal with. Jos A, I bought my first suit from you what has happened!! We were recently out here for a wedding. My husband packed his suit, but forgot to pack a dress shirt. Since he discovered this an hour before the wedding, he started to panic. We knew there was a Kohls about 5 mins away, and he wanted to go there. The problem is, he's a Big and Tall kind of guy, and I wasn't sure we could find his size at Kohls. He has had really good luck with his size at Jos A Banks, so we called there just to be sure. Chanel took our phone call and after we told her what we needed, she said to,come on by and she would have some shirts for us to check out. Of course, she pulled exactly the shirt he needed, and then offered to press it for him! We made it to the wedding with about 5 min to spare. Chanel and her co- worker saved the day for us! Too bad I didn't read the Yelp reviews prior to placing an order with Jos A Bank. Their buy 3 program to get a 'deal' sounded wonderful with no addl. shipping cost. The only problem is one of the shirts I ordered was on back order. It seemed like no problem since I ordered well in advance of when the gift was needed. I received one email within a week informing me that particular shirt would be shipped in one more week. Still no problem because I ordered well in advance of when the gift was needed. That was 3 weeks ago! No additional emails from this company! I sent two emails one week apart to their 'customer service department' with NO reply! I then called their 'customer service department' and was placed on hold for 19 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously.......................the key word here is CUSTOMER SERVICE! Once I stated my displeasure and inconvenience the gal quoted a 'stock response' almost robotic with the excuse that the floods have set them back a week possibly two. I told her I can understand that, however, I have been waiting for over 3 weeks now. There is NO excuse for that. No one emailed me back from 'Customer Service' and when I took the time out of my day to call I received this excuse that by now is outdated! This is a great lesson learned, I will never shop at an unfamiliar store in the future until I read the Yelp reviews. I also will never shop at Jos A Banks again. This store is amazing. Thank you to John, the Store Manager, for recommending Julie as a department manager to take care of my second half who is transitioning from the U.S. Army to civilian life. We were in the store for about 2 hours and Julie was patient, considerate, and most of all real. She gave recommendations based on experience and even gave recommendations on which color to wear for each interview. Bought over 3k worth of suits from their location here. They then sent me to a "outside trusted" tailor to adjust sizes for they couldn't do it for 6 months. Went and the guys made them completely wrong and didn't understand English. Needless to say these 3k worth of suits have been sitting in my closet for over a year not worn. If you are looking for a decent suit at a fair price then JAB in Scottsdale is an option. If you are looking for a suit that needs tailoring, however, you may want to go elsewhere. My main gripe with this place is that after purchasing $5k (with the mandatory pre-payment) worth of merchandise I was treated poorly by every employee other than the employee who must have earned the commission on the sale. When I came back to retrieve my suits after they were out for tailoring, my sales person was not working that day. The other employees in the store were not at all interested in helping me. A salesperson just retrieved my suits with a "have a nice day" attitude. He could have cared less whether the garments were tailored properly. If you are an executive who needs suits that are tailored then this place isn't for you. read more
