Updated review (11/16/18): New lawn has settled in after 3 months and in starting to notice the issues. The front lawn was not leveled out, resulting in patches of taller grass and lower grass. I have attached photos to show what I am talking about. In addition, Jose left an exposed drain pipe. When I showed it to a friend of mine, he explained that I needed to buy a drain cover and elbow pipe, then dig a hole to borrow the drain pipe. When I asked Jose what this pipe was he said he didn't know. There is no way an experienced landscaper would not know. He could have charged me a little bit more to take care of the pipe instead of just leaving it there. Very disappointed in the lack of follow up and quality deficiencies. Reliable and responsive is how I would describe Jose. He has been doing our lawns for three months and has done an excellent job. He does what we agreed he would do and anything extra we ask for. He doesn't seem interested in taking advantage of you or overcharging. His team is friendly and I would recommend them anytime. I called Jose because I needed help with both of my lawns in the front and backyard, they were pretty much covered in weeds. He did an amazing job at replacing the lawns and making sure the irrigation system was working properly. We paid Jose a small fortune to do a full clean-up at our El Dorado Hills home. After 5 hours of work Jose said he would be coming back to finish up. Jose never came back, we texted multiple time asking him when he would be back with no response. We paid Jose 100% of the money he requested but he chose not to complete the job. Jose made $110 an hour, I'm not sure if Jose is a landscaper or Lawyer charging those rates. So chose him if you like to pay 100% of the money but get 80% of the work done! read more

I called Jose based on what I had read in yelp, and was not let down. Jose showed up as scheduled and did exactly what I had requested. I needed to have my front lawn which was half dirt and half sod with dead spots as well as broken sprinklers with some needing to be relocated for better coverage. What I am most impressed with is that when one sprinkler was leaking that hadn't been leaking at the initial estimate, and one leaking sprinkler actually required more work than originally thought, Jose immediately (the same day) came and fixed it, with no additional cost to me. My Front yard looks wonderful now, and I really like the water saving sprinkler heads he used. I plan on hiring Jose to do my monthly lawn care! read more

I called and made an appointment. Jose was very nice said he will meet me on Sunday. He never showed up an never called.

I had Jose install a drip line and planted flowers on my retaining wall. Some flowers died and Jose never returned my text or calls. I also had issues with my drip system which caused the flowers to die and again Jose didn't return any calls or texts. Very disappointed with his service after he gets paid. read more

Called Jose Friday 4/8 and arranged for him to come out to my place in Lincoln to give me an estimate on what it would cost for lawn and trimming service. Even mentioned i'd be paying cash each time. He said Sunday (today) between 8-9am he'd be there and sounded confident about it despite the bad reviews about his no shows. Sure enough, he no showed, no call, nothing. Called him 5 times, no answer, and conveniently the "mailbox is full." I can't imagine why.. Finally txt me back after 9am, no decency CALL me back saying he's at "Sutter, cousin in ICU." No idea if that is true or not, but its awfully convenient. No reason you couldn't call me and tell me that so I'm not waiting around with a thumb up my ass. Im plenty understanding, but not when you're rude and don't communicate. And considering the other reviews about your no shows, I'm guessing you simply forgot or the weather's got you playing hooky. He then has the audacity to continue texting me saying "maybe you've never been in a situation like this" and "if helping a family member first means we can't work together, so be it" in a condescending tone as if I'm such an asshole for asking you to take 5 SECONDS to call and let me know. Seriously Jose? That's such a cry baby response to being called out. I didn't ask you to put me above a family member, I simply asked you to call and communicate. If you can't see how vastly different those two are, I feel bad for you and your future customers. I mean come on, you had no problem texting me paragraph long txts back and forth until I blocked your number, so why couldn't you simply relay the situation? Stop being so goddamn immature about it. We bought a home with a yard that was overgrown. After finding Jose on Yelp, we set up an estimate to remove old plants, trim existing plants, replant new plants, repair the drips, replace sprinkler heads not working properly, and mulch the entire front and back yard. He was such a pleasure to work with and did a fabulous job!!! Jose charges reasonable prices for the work he puts out. He and his partner were extremely fast but paid attention to detail. We are writing this under my Father in-laws name since he is already registered as Victor. We located Jose through Yelp and called him. Our 1/3 acre backyard in Roseville was in desperate need of trimming from the top down, many trees, shrubs, bushes and weeds everywhere. It was an embarresement. I tried to keep up with it, but with the rains in turned into a jungle. A huge backyard looked rather small the way it was overgrown. We got 3 or 4 estimates and Jose's was the lowest by far. We choose Jose and he brought in his crew a couple days later. It took them a full 6 hours to do, but let me tell you when they got finished the yard was literally transformed. We took before and after pictures and will save them for posterity (LOL) You cant beat Jose's prices and if you are looking for a true professional then give him a call. We have hired him to come in once a month now and do the yard, if you were smart you would do the same. Give him a call you wont be sorry....................... Jose is an awesome guy, and he's great at what he does! I called him to replace a few sprinkler heads and he met and surpassed my expectations. He is extremely friendly, gave a very fair quote, and even taught me how to adjust my sprinklers. He was able to move one sprinkler head about a foot to the right giving me better coverage for almost no extra money. I called Jose to get a quote on a bunch of yard work, clean-up, repair of hardscape and refreshing some mulched beds. My experience with Jose started off well. He took my call late in the day on a Friday and set up a time to take a look at my yard on Sunday. After spending about 30 minutes walking my property, he seemed interested in the job and suggested it would take his crew a few days to complete the work. Jose said he would text me a quote on Monday. He texted on Monday but said he needed a few more days to get me the quote. Unfortunately the quote never came, and I never heard from Jose again. I was disappointed by Jose's decision to leave me hanging, and the time I wasted walking the job with him. I can only guess he had enough work to keep his crew busy and did not need my business. I called Jose first thing in the morning because I had a couple of sprinkler valves that weren't working correctly. It has been hot and many of my plants were dying. I had already had my regular lawn guy look at them twice with no resolution to the problem. He arrived at my house by 9am that day and had the problem diagnosed within 15 minutes. He came back at 2pm the same day and replaced both valves in 100 degree heat. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I would hire his company to fix my sprinklers any day. A+ read more

We have had a challenge with finding a good and reliable gardener. Our yard had gotten out of control and we needed a big cleanup, we contacted Jose and he came and gave us a bid. We hired Jose to do the cleanup and his team did a wonderful job cleaning up and spent all day here. Our yard never looked better and we were so pleased that we hired Jose to do our weekly yard maintenance which he does wonderfully. We have also had a couple sprinkler leaks and issues and we call Jose and he gets right on it and resolves them for us (even on the weekend). I'm sad to leave this updated review for Jose. I have been working with him for a number of years and he has been great, until this spring. I referred him to two other people. One he did some landscaping for, but they contacted him with issues and questions several times shortly after installation, and Jose has not returned any of their texts or calls. Another referral was for a new client looking for on-going maintenance and weekly services. I very highly recommended Jose, and they tried to contact him several times. I even contacted him myself to try and get him to return texts and calls, but he totally ignored me as well. 3+ years of working with Jose, trusting him to take care of my yard and always making sure he was paid on-time, and this is what happens now? I feel terrible for referring him and speaking so highly of him to others, who are very disappointed to say the least. In fact, one of the two people also gave Jose's number to another neighbor, and he ignored their calls and texts as well. Not sure what is going on, and I hope you are ok, Jose, but I am very sorry to see your service level drop like this and ignoring everyone, including your long-time fans. read more

Five stars doesn't give Jose justice!! OMG. I could not believe my eyes when I returned home! The EXCELLENT detail and care he put into my lawn, was astounding. I'm still awed. I cannot believe only 4 peeps reviewed him so far! Are you serious?? Yeah. Money well spent with this guy. He's also SO reasonable. Hire him and you will ask him back, no doubt! He's on my speed dial as "The Man!!" lol. Very responsive, attentive, and has a great memory for detail! It took about a 1/2 hour to go through the front and back and he listened intently and clarified what I asked. Very impressed. I'm tellin' ya! He calls back right away, keeps you updated on any changes, and is a man of his word. I've been referring to Yelp for all my service needs for the past few years - and finally felt defeated with my weeds and found him here - I registered for the first time tonight JUST to comment on him...he's that good. :) The many bushes surrounding the house each look picture perfect.
