TF why does this place smell like urine? Everywhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!¡!!!!!!!! It's bad!…read more Neve notice this intense smell of urine until now. Mixed with dirty people smell and unjustified sweat. I get it, it's a gym. But people need to use deodorant. This pungent oder is gross. There needs to be more cleaning happening everywhere.

What they say about the other fitness sf gyms are true in my opinion,…read more The soma gym is where you go with the gym/body builder lovers. The fitness sf is where the others go to socialize on the strip The Fillmore location is where you go to swim and beginners due to the lack of equipment. The soma one is def my go to since I've started lifting weights. The location is very open; the areas are labeled and separated "arms" "legs" etc and helped me navigate what areas of the gym focus on certain muscle groups for a beginning weight lifter. I like the natural sunlight lighting the gym gives off compared to the other locations. It's all an open concept and has two main areas of the gym, while the other locations are split by an upstairs (Castro) and multiple walls (Fillmore). I like the soma location way more due to being able to see the other weights easily and know what's available and not. The bathroom for the men are pretty clean and always has a worker tidying up. Staff is always friendly and telling people to have a good workout. Lockers need your own locks unlike Fillmores location that has built in ones. Fillmore locations looks like it has more newer/remodeled things in the men's bathrooms compared to Somas. But they lack the amount of equipment that Soma offers. Which is why I like somas much more, thar and fillmores entire gym is so separated by walls every couple equipments and it takes a while to know the gym to fill comfortable vs wasting time trying to find out where an equipment is, and they feel so close to one another vs the somas open building concept. But nice staff as well. Yes the soma ones can get busy and that sucks when people are on their phones or taking forever but it's the price you pay when going during certain times. I do like how they have a Dog Room: glass door inside area where you can keep your dogs there, it can keep about 3-4 medium size dogs comfortable for your hour workout, and the soma location also have a Simply SF Cafe area by the entrance for smoothies. There is a parking lot right across the street for members (just be sure to get your membership sticker tag otherwise I've heard people have got tickets/towed) WiFi: FITNESS SF Soma Password: livefitness I wish it had a sauna or pool (filmore location has that) but overall I feel I get a good muscle workout when going here compared to the other locations.

The stairmasters have been broken for some time now with the first one being broken for 2-3 months. One by one they broke & now they're all broken. I understand gym equipment can break from time to time but the fact that ALL stairmasters are broken, 30% of ellipticals are broken, a handful of treadmills, & the weight machines upstairs are missing pins, broken cables, etc is just pitiful from a gym like this. VARIOUS THINGS HAVE BEEN BROKEN FOR MONTHSSSS!!! The LEAST they could do is communicate to us what is going on & what they are doing to rectify this situation. I usually do not write reviews unless necessary to make a change to the establishment. I hope this review finds its way to someone who can do something Side note: this gym also is starting to have an issue with people hogging machines while doomscrolling on their phones between sets as they are "resting". If that grind your gears, this is a heads up. Side side note: notice how management only replies to "positive reviews"; this is a critical review from an intermediate gym goer(3 years of hypertrophy training) for some context.

He's also a dog lover and took great care of my dog while I worked out. Even gave him some treats which was super sweet of him!! I was initially worried I might not have access to the same equipment I had at other locations due to the smaller space but that wasn't an issue at all!! They also have a bunch of stuff to aid in recovery that I didn't know about. Ryan recommended the inflatable compression sleeves for my legs. I had never tried them before and he walked me through putting them on. Highly recommend this gym and am grateful for Ryan!

About two months ago, I joined SF Fitness because it's the only gym in my area with a swimming…read morepool. Even though the membership costs over $100 per month, and I knew I would only be able to use it a few times each month due to my schedule, I decided it was still worth joining so I could swim. Overall, I would rate the facility about 2.5 out of 5 stars. The staff does make an effort to keep the gym clean, but because it gets so busy, some areas can still be messy at times. The main reason I joined was for the swimming pool. Unfortunately, I found that the pool is almost always crowded. I tried visiting on different days and at different times, but most of the time all the lanes were occupied. Occasionally I could swim right away, but more often I had to wait anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes before a lane became available. However, the biggest reason I'm giving this gym only 2 stars has nothing to do with the pool--it's because of security and parking. My primary transportation is an electric scooter. I initially tried driving and parking in the garage, but I repeatedly experienced problems with the parking gate. On several occasions it took me 10-15 minutes just to leave because the security gate malfunctioned and someone from the Fillmore Center had to come reset it. It was frustrating, especially when I was in a hurry. Because of that, I started riding my electric scooter instead. I used it only three times. On my third visit, I locked my brand-new scooter with a $60 security lock to the bike rack directly in front of the main entrance, where people are constantly walking in and out. After my swim, I came back and my scooter was gone. I immediately reported the theft to the front desk. They told me they were not responsible and that I needed to contact Fillmore Center Security. When I contacted them, they said they first needed a police report before they could assist me. I went to the police station, filed a report, and returned with the paperwork. I then asked what they could do to help. They said they would review the security camera footage to try to identify the person who stole my scooter. Since it happened right at the main entrance, I believed the cameras would clearly capture the incident. I was then told to come back the next day to speak with the security manager, Sean. Unfortunately, he wasn't available. After several unsuccessful attempts, I finally obtained his direct phone number from the security department. I texted Sean multiple times explaining that my insurance company could not process my claim without the surveillance footage. He repeatedly told me he would send the footage to my insurance company. Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. Despite his assurances, my insurance company never received anything. Eventually, my messages went unanswered. This was extremely disappointing because obtaining the footage should have been straightforward if the security cameras were functioning properly. Without that evidence, I couldn't complete my insurance claim for my stolen scooter. At that point, I decided to cancel my membership. Because of my busy schedule, my scooter is my primary way of getting to the gym. If I don't feel confident that it will be safe--or that I'll receive meaningful assistance if something happens--it's simply not worth the risk. After reading other online reviews, I realized I wasn't the only person who had experienced security-related issues at this location. That was even more discouraging. I'm not writing this review to discourage everyone from joining SF Fitness. If you walk to the gym or have another reliable way to get there, you may have a completely different experience. My purpose is simply to warn those who rely on electric scooters or bicycles as their primary transportation. Be aware of the potential risks, and understand that if your property is stolen, you may find it difficult to get the assistance or documentation needed afterward. I genuinely hope my experience helps others make an informed decision before joining.

High ceilings, dramatic lighting, and that historic vibe make workouts feel way less routine and a lot more motivating. That said, it does get very busy, especially during peak hours, so you may have to wait for equipment or adjust your workout a bit. It's also on the pricier side compared to other gyms, which is something to keep in mind. The main downside is the bathroom and locker area. The space is pretty small for how many members use the gym, and the amenities feel a bit limited given the cost. Overall, if you care about atmosphere and energy, this Crunch is a great option. An old movie theater turned into one ridiculously cool gym! Every piece of gym equipment you could think of and fully stocked towels that are open on the honor system. A young gentleman constantly cleaning all the equipment, vacuuming and wiping down all the surfaces around. We were there early morning and it wasn't crowded at all, so that was a plus. We could see it getting busy in the evening, for sure. Everyone was friendly, and the gym is really cool, three floors of weights, cardio and stretching areas. Also there is a room for classes and you must sign up for in advance as they book up quickly. Aside from the normal yearly membership, they do offer day/week/monthly passes to accommodate your fitness needs. I was referred through the Four Seasons and booked spa services while in town for a week. While I paid full price and tipped accordingly, the overall quality of my services was disappointing. My facial, in particular, was not up to standard. I've had a HydraFacial before, and this experience was noticeably inconsistent. The serums that are typically left on the skin were removed, which was surprising and not in line with what the service should be. Meanwhile, my friend received a completely different (and much better) version of the same facial, including additional modalities and proper finishing--this level of inconsistency is a huge red flag. The massage was also underwhelming. The technique felt minimal and lacked intention, especially compared to my friend's experience, where she described a thorough, tension-relieving service that clearly went above and beyond. I did bring my concerns to the front desk staff before leaving, specifically about both my facial and massage. Unfortunately, the response was disappointing--they looked at each other as if unsure how to respond and offered no feedback, follow-up questions, or attempt to address the situation. At that point, I simply paid and left. (I will add that our initial encounter with the spa front desk girl who gave us a tour was exceptional and had great customer service etiquette. Sadly, she left as I was changing.) Customer service unfortunately didn't improve afterward. I inquired about Pilates Reformer sessions, and the front desk staff were less than helpful. I also followed up via email and didn't receive a response until a week later--which, again, is disappointing for a business of this caliber. Overall, between the inconsistent services, lack of accountability on-site, and delayed customer support, I left feeling that the experience did not reflect the price point or reputation. I had high hopes, but sadly, I'm not very impressed.
