I found Pleasant Smiles online and from the very start it was, indeed, a pleasant experience! Tammy at the front, who normally is at the Hudson location, was wonderful about going over the paperwork and my insurance as well as scheduling me my next appointment. Lisa, my dental hygienist, was so kind and patient/understanding of my dental needs before, during, and after the procedure. And, Dr. Avvaru was the best dentist I have ever worked with. She explained my situation thoroughly, checked on me repeatedly during the procedure, and made sure I was comfortable with what was going to take place. I already have a cleaning appointment scheduled, and will be returning to see Dr. Avvaru and her staff for my future dental needs. I highly recommend this dental office to anyone needing dental services, especially if you're uneasy about seeing a dentist or haven't been in awhile!

Then they called me in and insisted that I take a "tour" of his entire facility. It's a rather small office that is in the shape of a "U". I thought that was a little bizarre (when's the last time you went to the dentist and had to take a tour of the entire place?). Then after I was brought into another exam room.I had a cap that broke off and needed a replacement tooth. The dentist starting talking about how my teeth didn't seem to be "aligned" very well and that he would have do work to "align" my teeth before he could even think of fixing the broken tooth. I asked what kind of money he was talking about and it ended up being over "ten thousand"......Are you kidding? I have never been told my teeth were misaligned by any dentist! Then he asked me to go to another room where he asked me a "million questions" and then he wanted to take my picture.....I refused because honestly this whole thing was getting really weird. I ended up being nice and saying I would let them know even though I was thinking something entirely different. I've been to a lot of dentists, but never experienced anything like this. I ended up going to the dentist I go to now, who said no problem, and got the tooth repaired with no hassle whatsoever. My dentist put a new cap on and it looks perfect. I have no idea what that whole thing was about at Village Dental of New England: Leonard DiPaolo, DDS, but buyer beware...I think they are into making money...lots of money! Never went back needles to say.

The cleaning was done with Samantha and the inspection was done by Dr. Kim. They were both very friendly and I could tell they both enjoyed their job. The care quality was very good! The issues I had was it took awhile to get the necessary new patient paperwork done. I guess there were issues uploading forms. Didn't feel comfortable uploading my drivers license info. Jennifer (the receptionist), did point out it was a secure server. To save time, I would suggest having the new patient forms on their website.

I chose to try Dr. Jason Keshian at Nashua Family Dental in Nashua, NH. The entire staff was super friendly and professional. The office was welcoming, organized, and clean. I took these a good signs that they pay close attention to detail and care for their patients. The visit from start to finish was so easy and Dr. Keshian was friendly professional, and knowledgable. I had already had a similar tooth issue and went to my former dentist when I lived in Westford, MA where the dentist made me cry. Dr. Keshian at Nashua Family Dental explained everything as he went. He told me what the process was, how it would feel, and why it was medically necessary. I couldn't have asked for a kinder and more efficient experience from a dentist. I look forward to my next visit there bc fixing a chipped tooth takes a few visits. I have found his office to be difficult to deal with. I thought I had found a wonderful dentist…read morethat I liked and trusted, but after the past year, I wonder about both the office and the dentist. I had my first and only (and hopefullly last) crown done by Dr. Arsenault, I had to go to a different dentist for a root canal, followed by another dentist who had to do some work prior to the actual crown being created/applied. All seemed to go well, but took many months to finish and about $5000 out of my pocket. In the past, I had had my teeth cleaned there. When I went to go for my next cleaning, they wanted to do more xrays and I typically don't do that annually, but every few years and if there are any issues or concerns, I certainly have it done. When the office heard that I didn't want to have xrays this time at time of my cleaning, I was told that I couldnt visit any more and would have to find another dentist. First time in like 50 years this has happened! No other issues with previous dentists, of which there had only been a total of 2... I also got a letter in the mail that I was being dropped as a patient. Now after about a year, I am with another dentist for my cleanings and I have been warned that the crown (which is only about 2.5 years old) needs replacing - and it has to be an implant, at somewhere about $7k. (No insurance will cover any where near that and I have no dental insurance other than the standard cleanings, xrays, fillings, etc.) Apparently there is a space/pocket/divot at the gum line and this is going to decay in the future - and the only reason why it hasn't yet is because I floss 3 times a day, brush after eating anything and also rinse with mouthwash and peroxide - so I've been lucky. What a shame that my crown didn't last very long at all and that I got booted out as a patient because I wouldn't do xrays for my next cleaning visit. :-( So don't piss off the office staff by not having xrays done when requested. My original review of Arsenault/his office is below and is now removed to do this update: Switched dentists and have found the staff here to be incredibly friendly, explains everything and the same with Dr. Arsenault. A pleasure to have found a practice like this. Oh well. Have to pay the $7k to get an implant - I NEVER expected to have any issues with the crown, after all that timeframe in various dentist chairs and the expense. It is not fun and to find out that I have more expenses for something that I thought was finished and done, is a kick in the b*l@s.

My family still lives in New England, but I moved to Los Angeles a couple of years ago and have failed to find a dental office in LA that will provide quality care. Seriously, every office I have been to in LA have always tried upselling me with useless services and have even tried ripping me off by charging all kinds of extra procedures that never took place to my insurance company. With that said, I much prefer traveling 3000+ miles to Dr. Arsenault's office. The receptionists, Cindy and Diane, are so easy and pleasant to deal with. Rona, the dental hygienist, is truly the best dental hygienist I have ever encountered. She is always very thorough with the cleaning and will provide clear explanations to your questions. She is just an overall super kind and professional hygienist who really cares about her work and her patients. I also enjoy meeting with Dr. Arsenault at the end of the cleaning. He does a final check and will address any concerns you may have. Like his staff, he too, is very caring and professional. I wish there was a dental office even just HALF as good as this one in LA!
