Although he was nice and listened to what I had to say, there were some things about the visit which would make me not recommend him to others. I recently came back to the DC area and needed a doctor. I asked around but no one really felt like their doctor was good enough to recommend. So i went online, searched doctors and went here. He takes most insurances and can usually see people the same day, which was my case. I needed anti-biotics. He gave me a bag of samples instead of giving me a prescription, which is both good and bad. Good: I don't have to go to the pharmacy. Bad: I don't get the pharmacists recommendation of a cheaper, generic brand. He didn't talk to me about the drug at all. He didn't even tell me when I should take it, I had to ask. He didn't tell, me how the drug would react to something else I was taking. I had to look that up. Turns out that they don't work well together. He knew what I was on. He is a decent doctor and for the occasion, was good enough for me. All I needed was drugs, and I knew what I needed. But if I ever get really sick, I don't think I will be visiting him again.

I've gone through two separate primary care doctors just to get the referral--both were approved by my insurance. I've filled out piles of paperwork, completed their long online questionnaires, and submitted every document they asked for. Despite doing everything right, they still won't schedule the appointment. Every time I call to follow up (which I've had to do over and over), they come up with some new excuse to delay or deny my care. First, they said they needed to contact my pulmonologist. What if I didn't even have one? Then they demanded EKG results from the past six months--what if I've never had an EKG? Are they going to deny me care for that too? It's obvious they're inventing hoops for patients to jump through just to cover themselves. I've had major medical procedures in the past that never required this level of documentation or bureaucracy. What they're doing is not just frustrating--it's outright denial of care. I even got my insurance company on a three-way call with them to confirm everything was approved, and the insurance rep told them directly that I was cleared to proceed. They still refused to schedule the appointment. To top it all off, their call center is outsourced to the Philippines, staffed with people who barely speak English, are rude, untrained, and totally incompetent. There is zero follow-up, no accountability, and no one actually trying to help the patient. This is healthcare at its absolute worst. Avoid this office like the plague. If you value your time, your sanity, or your health--go somewhere else.

I took an appointment and waited my turn. The wait was well worth it. On my first appointment we went over my health history and my gastroenterology-related issues. Dr. Khan gave me an order to have an upper endoscopy performed which was completed on 12/09/2021. I am very happy with Dr. Khan and his bedside manner. I feel very fortunate to have become one of his patients.

Dr. Cohen is the best GI and overall physician I have ever had. She is my 6th or 7th GI physician…read moreover the years and by far the very best. I was very sick in a 2.5 year flare and Dr. Cohen cured me!!! I was told by previous physicians my only solution would be surgery multiple times, but Dr. Cohen did her research and we tried another combination of therapies, that have been working so well! She tried these new combinations of therapies with very close monitoring. She is so smart and experienced but ensures she explains everything in patient friendly terms, very comprehensively, practicing shared decision making as well. Our first appointment we went through my whole medication/disease history to ensure she had all the information- so patient and comprehensive!! She is always very patient with all my questions and concerns, quick with follow up, and extremely comprehensive. She focuses on GI of course, but she also ensures I am update to date on all vaccines and exams (even more so than my pcp :) ), and takes the time to discuss non- GI related medical concerns with me as well. She checks in on mental health and nutrition and provides recommendations and referrals for all specialities. She is truly the best, most comprehensive physician I have ever had and I feel so grateful to be under her care!! Highly highly recommend!!!

She immediately put me at ease. She gave me several openings in which to ask questions and at the end of the visit, she told me to email her if I had any questions before my procedure. I did end up having a question and it was answered promptly. There was also a video as well as several documents offering information concerning the Covid test, the preparation for the procedure and the procedure itself. The followup to make an appointment for the Covid test and procedure went smoothly. The Covid test was administered in her office where I felt very safe--all protocols were followed, there was only one other person in the large waiting room and I only had to wait very briefly. The day of the procedure, the staff and the doctor made me feel comfortable and were all very professional. The center seems very well-run. I was treated with such care and respect. I had great trepidation about having this procedure but Dr. Cohen gave me great confidence every step of the way.

I've been a patient for YEARS and only managed to see Dr. Lafsky in office ONCE due to repeated scheduling errors on their end. The final straw was after being denied a scheduled appt. With Dr. Lafsky by Nancy the office manager. All bc I missed an appointment while I was in the hospital with SEPSIS. Instead of telling the doctor I was there she sat me and my MOTHER down for 45min to lecture us about missing appointments. I even called from my potential deathbed to cancel and i saw Dr. Lafsky while in hospital!! Later that weekend, I retroactively received an invite from the receptionist Sam to an entirely different appointment the previous month that I did not make nor was I ever informed of. Clearly trying to clean up a screw up. So, after trying to schedule an over due Endo and colonoscopy for 3 years with this office, I finally gave up and found a new GI. Therefore for most of that hospital stay he was there and I will never forget how much compassion and kindness he showed me. I was very sick and he clearly was concerned. He ordered appropriate tests for issues affecting my GI tract. He communicated well with my internist and rheumatologist. I will always appreciate the care I received from him. Soon after that hospital stay my gastroenterologist retired and there was no doubt I would choose Dr Jager to take over my care. I have a lot of GI issues and he always tries to keep me as comfortable as possible. He returns phone calls promptly and although I know he is very busy, he takes the time to talk to me. The anesthesiologist's negligence was alarming; she didn't ask any necessary pre-anesthesia questions, making a biased and dangerous assumption based on my "helthy" appearance. This lack of thoroughness is unacceptable and could have had serious consequences as so many things can impact the anesthesia! Follow-up and Billing: After the procedure, I was hurried out without any proper follow-up. Despite promises, Dr. Jager never reached out to discuss my results or ongoing pain. Instead, I was bombarded with relentless requests for reviews and an overwhelming number of bills. Due to their mishandling of my referral, I am now left to deal with charges that should have been covered by my insurance without my involvent going back and forth between my provider and insurance. This is not just frustrating; it feels like a blatant disregard for patient care and responsibility. Billing Department: Reaching the billing department was an ordeal in itself. After eight attempts, I finally spoke with a representative named Elisia, who was clearly irritated and unhelpful. When I say children, my 2 kids had pediatricians but did not always get the attention I felt comfortable with and so brought them both to Dr. Idrees for second opinions since I had come to respect and trust his medical expertise. He has always treated us as family and been genuinely concerned with our health and always made sure to remind us and recommend best courses of action for whatever scenario. As I get older I have specialists for varied med issues, but i always make sure Dr. Idrees gets updates and reports from those specialists as his stamp of approval on procedures reassures me and lets me know I'm following the correct course of action. Only once did I not follow his advice on a specialist and I regretted it afterward! I have had many GP's throughout my life, but none has had such a positive impression on me as much as Dr. Idrees. I have the utmost respect for his professionalism, his whole body approach (including mental aspects of healthcare), his kindness and caring. My kids are both grown now and have their own lives, but they still see doctor idrees and in fact one even brought her new boyfriend to see him when he had a medical concern. I only wish all doctors in 2023 cared and were as professionally reliable and competent as Dr. Idrees is.
