They are out of business. The family sold it's two-generation business a short while back, and the new owners couldn't make a go of it.

Many successful companies have achieved success because of their focus on the customer experience…read more These companies invest in training their employees because they understand the impact an employee can have on client satisfaction, repeat purchase, word of mouth and ultimately revenue. This is a review about a company with a good product, but one who is losing customers because of poor customer service. Brian is a customer facing employee, working the counter and helping with orders. Brian was so rude to us on three separate occasions that during our last visit the other salesperson apologized for his behavior. Brian has been such an appalling person in his attitude and the way he handles situations that everyone needs to know not to do business with him, or Delaware Valley Plumbing Supply and West End Hardware as long as he is there. Over the years we have purchased tens of thousands of dollars worth of products here and we have been loyal customers when we could have purchased elsewhere for less. We have purchased faucets, fixtures, shower heads, sinks, toilets, valves, hardware and more. Given this, you would have expected better customer service. We are not the only ones who have had a poor experience with Brian, just read some of the other reviews. We do not recommend this business and will not return as long as Brian is there. The customer experience you provide will ultimately determine your success... right now you are failing us and others.

Months after the purchase, we noticed that a wire shower basket was not there, even though our contractor had signed for it. Meredith was there for us once again, and sent us another wire shower basket at no charge. We could not be more pleased with West End Hardware's products and, especially, their customer service. We can give them, with no reservations whatsoever, our very highest recommendation.

I found Old Gladwyne Hardware is a True Value Hardware Store because I was searching for a plunger…read more I didn't want to go to a Lowe's or Home Depot and I am glad I didn't. The outside of the store has many beautiful plants that the is major curb appeal. Once inside, the aisles are cluttered, but if you ask for assistance you will receive quality customer service. I not only found my plunger, but I also received helpful plumbing tips to assist with my clogged kitchen sink. If I am in the area and require some hardware needs, I will be sure to stop back in because I appreciated the service received on this visit.

I made the mistake of trying to support a local business by purchasing our flowers at Old Gladwyne…read moreHardware. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. I bought four plants, and despite proper watering and pruning, all four were dead within a week. When I brought this to the owner's attention, she offered only a partial solution: if I bought four more plants at full price, she would give me half-credit for the original ones. Given that we used to live in Gladwyne and spent thousands of dollars at this store over the years, I would have expected better customer service--particularly a full replacement of the faulty plants. Had we gone to Home Depot or Lowe's, I'm confident we would have received a no-hassle refund or exchange. It's unfortunate that a local store didn't meet that same standard.

The Home Depot on Alan Wood Road in Conshohocken was an experience that was challenging, to say the…read moreleast. Went in today, Sunday at 10:AM on 6/14/26, needing drain cleaner. Asked two people, and was given the finger, as in pointing in an approximate direction, but not actually offering an exact location. It is frustrating to think that someone in an orange smock will help; only to find out that your questions have interrupted their cell phone activity. But, I should have known better because each time I enter this Home Depot, employees offer the same impeccable service: nonchalant, please don't bother me, let me look away, or better yet, you (the customer) please go away. I must be a glutton for punishment to keep patronizing an establishment that disregards the importance of customer inclusion. Home Depot thank you for a lesson learned.

There were employees at the front checkout, but they couldn't help because they didn't know how to operate the paint machines. When the paint associate finally arrived, she acted like she'd been there the whole time. She quickly got my paint and then immediately moved on to the next person. When I told her I had another question, she gave me a look like I was interrupting her flow and bothering her. After reluctantly answering, she continued helping others, clearly showing poor customer service skills. I've usually had great experiences at this location, but my last two visits have been awful. On a previous trip, I was making a return and explained to the associate that I'd used store credit for the purchase. I also mentioned that it wouldn't show when I swiped my card, but I had my receipt. Despite this, the associate processed the return as "no receipt" and only refunded half my money.

I will not be using Lowe's again and strongly recommend avoiding their installation services…read more I paid Lowe's about $2,600 upfront to remove carpet from my stairs and install wood treads. My contract clearly included both materials and labor. The materials were delivered, but no one ever contacted me about next steps. After I had to proactively call Lowe's, I was told they made a billing mistake and I would need to pay an additional ~$450 -- something I would have no way of knowing or catching as a customer. They only discovered this after speaking with the installer. What's worse is that instead of contacting me, the employee who made the mistake added a note in their system stating that I had agreed to pay the additional cost -- which is completely untrue. I only found out when I received a random text asking me to sign an updated contract. I spent over a month escalating this issue and made 10+ calls between the store and corporate. Even though Lowe's admitted this was their error, they refused to honor the original contract. My only options were to pay more or cancel. I was forced to take a refund after weeks of delays. This was a complete failure in process, communication, and accountability. I paid in full based on Lowe's contract, and they still wouldn't stand behind it. Even as a long-time customer of over 15 years who has used Lowe's for previous projects, they refused to make this right. I will not be using Lowe's again and strongly recommend avoiding their installation services.

Recently I have been met with a lot of issues when purchasing things or locating items. The only people I have encountered at this location that are truly helpful and pleasant are Mike, the appliance supervisor(?), the gentleman with dreadlocks at the customer service who's name is escaping me but has helped me dozens of times, as well as the older gentleman with glasses in the garden center who is always so kind hearted with my little girls. If they did not work at this location I would honestly never return. I want it to be known that my review is not a reflection of these individuals because without them I believe this store would be ill equipped to deal with any customer service issues.

Tyler rocked last time, but I had Lauren and Crystal this time, who also rocked!…read more For a long time I've wanted to get locking jewelry drawers for my walk-in closet design. These drawers are very expensive when custom, and normally made of MDF with laminate over it, which is not worth the price, IMO. I needed specifically shallow drawers, to see and access my jewelry easily, and a lot of them. After a bunch of browsing things like drafting table drawers, map cabinets, blueprint drawers, etc. I saw someone on CL trying to pedal a tool cabinet as drafting drawers, and I realized, duh, a tool chest! I could get a tool cabinet and sandwich it between built-ins, then put baseboard molding over the wheels, to make it look like cabinetry. The logo lettering can be removed, a countertop can be added, and voila, you have a custom unit. Harbor Freight has about 3 brands of large tool storage chests. I watched vlog reviews for all of them, and they all beat box stores on all specs, plus are cheaper and come in more colors. HF bills their brands as comparable to Snap-On, which is the Lamborghini of toolboxes. Not sure if their claims are a stretch or not, but the HF prices are a fraction of Snap-On, and the quality is way more than your average household DIY-er needs. For me, I wanted something safe for my huge jewelry collection. I don't have any one thing super valuable, but if you add it all up, it's not junk either. This solution was perfect to protect it all; the chest is too heavy to steal, with locking drawers, and extra keys. Love it! I now have my eye on another one, lol! HF's Yukon brand has a 46" wheeled box with butcher block top, that comes in a few colors and the white one is popular for a super chic instant kitchen island. It's adorable, and I might get one in the future for my new kitchen. Or, art supplies, craft stuff, etc. I'll have to wait for the next sale because you can't use the 20% coupons on these. But if you wait it out and get their emails, sooner or later they will announce a sale again! You can have these babies delivered (cost when I priced it was $94), or pick up at the store for free. I am glad I called ahead because I spoke to Crystal and she said she can only forklift this into an open top vehicle, like a truck. I have access to such a vehicle, and they had no issue getting it in. My chest was boxed up, but casters are already on it. All you need to do is screw on the handle. In my case, I'm making it part of a built-in, so I don't need the handle. I chose the bright cobalt color after googling said color + closet, and I got some swank design looks! Other options for this chest span the rainbow! But I'm psyched for my bold dramatic blue! So excited my jewelry finally has a home! Thank you Crystal and Lauren!
