My project hasn't been completed but I wanted to post my experience with the intake and dropping off process. I have a gemstone that has a chip in it. Joseph jewelry was one out of only three places in the area that I could find that offered cutting services. You can book appointments online with them within a day. At first I talked with Tony from the Seattle location and he helped inform me Bellevue is where Danny, the one in charge of the cutting usually works. I came in without an appointment and Christine offered to help me right away. The ambience in the store is very clean, comfortable, and has good lighting. Christine took a look at my stone in great detail, helped walk me through the process of what the cutting would look like. She also got me set up with an account that they will message me on with updates. I will say with the online booking and different actions allowed through their site/my account was so refreshing. A lot of jewelry places that I contacted or reviewed initially through my research were pretty dated. They would have you submit a filled out contact form, have to leave an email hoping for a response (and a few never did respond), or call them and hope they answer. This place is definitely the opposite. Having everything so accessible and allowing customers to self-serve via their portal and website is so nice and allowed me as the customer to feel like I can take some charge of the process and what I need. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place to visit for any jewelry needs! The customer service is very personable and great, they're one of the few places that I could find to cut my gemstone, and the online accessibility is so convenient. I cannot rave about this place enough. My first experience was to have a a new head & prongs on one of my rings. It was a quick turn around, 2 weeks and I felt the cost was fair. When I needed my wedding ring to have a new head & prongs i promptly went back to Joseph as I trusted their work. My original diamond was inherited and over 100 years old, I had splintered the diamond and they gave me a few options. They told me they could rehead it but it may cause the diamond to crack or break, I could replace it, or just wait to think about it. I appreciated the honesty and them taking the time to let me make a hard decision after wearing a sentimental stone for 27 years. I decided to remove my old stone and purchase a new diamond. Christine was phenomenal in assisting us, going through quality and cost and not rushing us. You have a portal you can log into to see how your item is progressing and you can message the store. I messaged them about the sizing and they responded within an hour and was able to make an adjustment. I also had a family member pass away and asked if it would be done a few days early. Christine at no charge put a rush on it and it was ready for me to pick up before I left town. I won't go anywhere else, they have my business from here on out. read more

I was thrilled to come back to Joseph Jewelry and update my ring for our five year wedding anniversary. We added a small strip of diamonds on either side of the band and upgraded to a larger center stone. I love that we were able to build off of the original ring. We had some initial communication challenges around the design/next steps, but Andrea (who we worked with the first time) stepped in and took great care of us. This particular design was also done with some additional reinforcements to secure the center stone. (With my previous ring, we had issues with my center stone falling out twice -- luckily found the diamond both times.) All in all, another good experience. I went for jewelry repair of a family heirloom and the quote was thrice the value of the jewelry. I went to another jeweler and had the repairs done for a sixth of what Joseph Jewelry quoted me. They're great! I actually communicated with a rep to inquire on a ring before but nothing came out of it. I finally decided to go back to them to polish my ring (that was purchased else where). They were the only one that would do a same day job if we got there as soon as they opened. We actually visited their DT store but to find out their jeweler was out on a last min leave. Bummer! They called to Bellevue and managed to get us in if we can make it within 1-1.5 hours. We made it happened and Joseph's nephew, Elijah? Helped us. Very pleasant and very nice. The only down fall is the lack of parking, we had to circle around couple of times and managed to find street parking. Erich helped my fiancé select one of the most unique engagement rings I've ever seen. Although my fiancé bounced ideas off of friends and family, he consulted with Erich and other teammbers to select the best diamond makers for my particular gems and diamond. Props to everyone for using my birthstone which changes colors depending on the light. I'm also glad my gems and diamond were all lab grown. I met Erich yesterday for the first time, and he was so excited to hear our proposal story, congratulate me and walk us through the resizing process. I am so so so happy with my experience with Joseph Jewelers! My fiance and I ended-up designed a custom engagement and wedding ring set using the stones from my great grandmother's rings. Erich helped us at every step of the way. We walked in with only a budget, but no real ideas what we wanted. We weren't sure if we wanted to buy a ring or design a custom one even. The staff at Joseph Jewelry were so kind and patient and really helped us to decide which was the best option for us within our budget. They never once made us feel like we needed to spend more money, and they never once made us feel bad for considering using heirloom stones. I HIGHLY recommend getting a custom ring done with them if you are looking to use a family heirloom! The entire experience was amazing, and I am sooooo happy with my completely unique and 100% "me" engagement ring! We primarily worked with Erich and he was wonderful. He was so patient with me and really made us feel cared for and special. Since I had no idea what I wanted, he spent lots of time looking at different ring designs with me and listening to what I liked/didn't like about each ring. After about 30 minutes, we went to his desk and he made some quick sketches of different ring ideas using all of my likes from the other rings. Within an hour, we had designed a completely unique ring using elements from various styles in the store. He also helped us to incorporate stones from my great-grandmother's wedding set so that everything would be cohesive and stay within our budget. After the sketch mock-up, the ring is sent to CAD so they come up with computer images of the ring using the exact sizes of the diamonds we provided. They were happy to make any adjustments we asked for and this whole process was really easy. You use an online portal so you don't even have to go back in to the store for this process. Overall, it took about 2 months to have the rings made. However, I think this is a bit longer than usual since it was over the holidays. I am so pleased with my experience with Erich and Joseph Jewelry. I am in LOVE with my engagement and wedding rings, and I am so happy to have been a part of the design experience. Initially, I thought a custom ring would be totally out of our budget, but they really work with you to make sure you get exactly what you want within your price range. There is nothing bad I can say about this place! My husband and I had an INCREDIBLE experience here! Antoine went above and beyond in helping make my birthday gift so special. I had chosen a stackable ring to compliment my wedding rings. Antoine mentioned it wouldn't be ready by my birthday. I was a little bummed, but understood their jewelry was made to order; I had to wait 4-6 weeks for it. Fast forward two and a half weeks... my husband and I are out to dinner in Ft. I've been meaning to hold off on posting my review until the wedding bands for myself and my fiancé were finished, but the staff at Joseph went above and beyond my expectations today, so I'm posting my review early. When my fiancé and I first started talking about engagement rings, we knew that our primary requirement was wanting ethically sourced diamonds. Using that as our starting point, I began researching local jewelers to see what was available (since we wanted to be able to view our jewelry in person if possible), and we discovered that Joseph Jewelry was only a block away from our home and had fantastic reviews. After visiting many stores online, and viewing a few in person, we decided that Joseph seemed the most reliable and had an incredibly impressive array of designs online (which are just as impressive in person). The fact that our design would be custom and unique to us was the icing on the cake. Erich is our closest point of contact, and he's always been great about walking us through details and educating us every step of the way (whether about the design process or the materials used). We never felt pressured or rushed in any way during any of our many visits. If Erich was busy with another client or not in that day, Tony would step in - and he's equally fantastic. Lex was our designer, and had a really quick turnaround time on any changes we requested to our engagement ring design, as well as good advice on alternatives if my requests would compromise the structure and strength of the jewelry itself. Safe to say, the staff never makes you feel like a nuisance - they listen to your thoughts, concerns, and always do their utmost to make their clients happy. As for the custom jewelry designing process itself - it's pretty cool, as others have noted. There's really nothing quite like the combination of seeing the digital renderings and getting to feel a physical wax mold to give you a sense of how the design will look and feel in the end. It's as close to getting to see an actual product as you can get before the jewelry is actually made, helping you ensure that you're truly happy with the design. (And even then, when I actually got to see the final ring in person? So, so much more gorgeous than I was expecting. I don't get excited all that easily, and I was giddy when I finally got to wear the ring.) The experience made it easy for us to decide to return to the same store for our wedding bands. And the second time we went to brainstorm on my fiancé's band, Tony also offered to clean my ring (for free) while we were there. I got to see their steam cleaner, which was super efficient. But adding to all of this, this past weekend I somehow managed to clumsily dent my ring. I was fully prepared to have to leave my ring at the store and pay to restore it, and was feeling pretty guilty for not being more careful. I popped by the store, and Erich immediately set my mind at ease, saying it was no problem. He headed to the back room to talk with other staff, and within minutes, they had my ring back out, polished and cleaned beautifully, and I literally can't tell which side of my ring had the scratch anymore. To me, this is truly service at its finest. Basically - service and style make all the difference.
