Jonathan was such a pleasure to work with - I was looking for a diamond with strong hearts and arrows and very specific specs and he sourced the perfect diamond for me! I felt that he listened to what I wanted and made me feel comfortable throughout the process. He offered his expert opinion but also ensured that my vision was coming through in the end. I even had a moment of cold feet and wanted to make changes and he was super accommodating through that process, even though I ended up changing my mind and keeping the ring as is. BEWARE: DO NOT SELL ITEMS TO THIS STORE!! They engage in self-serving business practices, are dishonest, misrepresent information, and do not stand by their commitments. On 6/20/25, my daughter and I visited Marci Jewelry with a diamond ring we wanted to sell. We were introduced to their "diamond expert" Jonathan Borghes. He examined the ring (including the estimated size of the center stone and the white gold mounting with several smaller accent diamonds as well as other details regarding the large stone). He offered to pay $5000 ($500 for the mounting & $4500 for the center stone) in the form of a check written immediately. Jonathan went on to tell us he strongly believed he could get more than $4500 by selling the stone to his contacts if we left the stone with him. Of course, we wanted as much money as possible so this seemed like a good approach. During the conversation, we asked multiple times "if it took too long for him to find a buyer, could we request he send a check for the original offer" of $4500?" He assured us each time "oh yes, just call and he would send the $4500 original offer check". Based on Jonathan's confident reassurances and the store's longtime stellar reputation including online reviews, we decided to leave the stone and take the $500 check for the mounting since he had disassembled the ring. He asked me to sign a form he said was simply "my proof/receipt that the stone was left with him". Over the next few weeks, I contacted Jonathan multiple times for an update and each time was told "I need to make a few more calls, just need a little more time". On 7/22/25, I spoke with Jonathan again to ask he send the $4500 original offer check. This is when the situation became a problem and the poor business practices, dishonesty and misrepresentation surfaced. He refused to send a check, now saying the form he had me sign was actually something completely different what he claimed was simply "proof/receipt that we left the stone with him". He now called it a consignment agreement and stated that he wouldn't stand by his original offer of $4500. That in fact he would not pay out anything until he found a buyer. When I recounted our 6/20/25 discussion, he abruptly said he need to speak with store owner and would call me back. Not having gotten a return call, on 7/23/25, my daughter visited the store to get the check in person since I live out of state. Now Jonathan was refusing to acknowledge his agreements from our 6/20/25 conversation, calling it "all a miscommunication". The store owner refused to hold Jonathan accountable to his original offer. We took the stone and will pursue other avenues to sell it. Jonathan blatantly lied and the store owner refused to hold him accountable. We believe Jonathan intentionally misled us during the initial conversation, presented the enticing recommendation of getting even more than his offer of $4500 and then set me up by misrepresenting the nature of the form he had me sign knowing he would have "an out" and wouldn't have to follow through with his original offer. Rather than hold Jonathan accountable to his original agreement, the store owner chose to back his actions, a very poor example of leadership and customer relations. read more

We went to go get my mom a Christmas present, she wanted a diamond ring for her anniversary. Marci jewelry had the best reviews so it was the first place that we went to. They only sell natural diamonds and it was important to me to get a certificate to ensure they were not conflict diamonds etc. We were helped by John who was celebrating his 40 anniversary at the store. He is a gem (no pun intended) and a genuine pleasure to work with. He went into great detail and helped my mom find the perfect ring within our budget. They also trade gold and other fine jewelry and she was able to trade in an old ring that she does not wear anymore. They were able to get the ring to us before Christmas (in 5 days time). If I could have chosen 0 stars, I would have. I came to Marci to sell some gold rings and earrings that I had inherited from my mother. The gold buyer, Rex, seemed too busy to be bothered with my business. He passed over several items that he said were "no good' when in reality they were real gold as I later found out from another gold appraiser name Ben at Sound Gold Buyers. During my visit here, I was "helped" by 3 different people (if you could call it help). After spending about 5-10 minutes with these people, Rex offered me a mere $400 and when I said I had a couple more places to visit he rudely asked me to come back the next day if I was still interested in his offer because they were so busy that day. His snide comments and what seemed like a total disinterest in my business lost me as a return customer immediately. I will never even go there to shop for jewelry in the future. Ben at Sound Gold Buyers knows what he's talking about. He sits down with you and takes the time to explain everything he's doing and answers any questions you may have. From the time I walked in the door to getting the ring in my hand, I really like doing business with Marci. I'm sure I wasn't the easiest guy to do business with, but the ring had to be perfect, and it was! I had a design in mind and they worked with me very patiently for several revisions before making a cast that I could see hold before giving the ok to make the final ring. At one point when I said I had some room left in my budget, John said he couldn't take my money because it I wasn't going to be able to see any difference in the ring or stones. I went back to talk with John about it and he let me know the issues of putting diamonds into tungsten rings. However, he showed us the new tungsten rings that are available and helped us choose one that is perfect. The customer service at Marci Jewelry is top notch! We've known Marci Jewelers since 20 years ago. It was just like our family started out with friendship ring, promised earrings, promised ring, engagement rings and then wedding ring. My then boyfriend took me to Marci and let me picked my own engagement ring just because he didn't want me to bring it back for exchange later! John spent more than 3 hours helping us pick the right stone. And then another couple hours for the mounting. I went to Marci Jewelry to have a ring made with a Garnet as the center stone. I worked with John and he showed me a Garnet that he had in stock and it was a unique shape and I loved it. My ring was finally ready after 3 months. I picked up the ring, but not even 24 hours later the Garnet fell out, while I was at work. I took it back to John the next day and he said don't worry; we will take care of it. "It was just a fluke". I believed him. Shortly after I picked it up again, the stone was loose again. Over the next eight weeks, I lost track of how many times the stone came loose and I had to bring it back. I was becoming furious and on May 1st I took it back again. I talked to John again. He said it keeps coming loose because there was nothing under the stone to support it. He said he was going to start over and remake the entire ring. My friend came right out and asked him why they didn't do it right the first time, to which John backpedaled and did not give an answer. So, once again I left the ring with John on May 1st. I waited another entire month. I came in to pick up the ring on June 1st. John showed me how they built it up and there was now a basket to hold the stone in place. It looked secure to me and I thought this was finally the end of all the problems. I started to get excited again about the ring. I left the store and got a few blocks away and I was at a red light. I was looking at the ring and touched the center stone and realized it was loose. I was absolutely shocked! I pulled over and called John. I brought the ring back again and Emiko had the nerve to say to me "you said it was fine when you left". I was so insulted and furious at that comment. My response to that is, YOU should have checked that ring before I got there, if you had, you would have know the stone was loose, that is YOUR job, not mine. John took the ring to the back room. When he came back out with the ring, he said some cotton had gotten under the mounting from the polishing cloth and that made the stone come loose. Are you kidding me, I could not believe that. I would think after all the problems with this ring; someone would have checked this with a fine tooth comb. This is just so unacceptable. Once again I left. Within days, the stone was loose again. I will not come back to Marci Jeweler. It cost me $300.00 to have my ring fixed right by another jeweler. The stone was all chipped from Marci's trying to fix it so many times. I had tried to talk to a Manager or the owner with no success. I wrote a letter to the owner and he never even acknowledged me. I owned a retail business for many years, and you better believe I would have done whatever it took to make this right, but they obviously did not care. read more

Went in for the Men's ring sale to check out tungsten carbine rings, which are featured on the ad for the men's event. Had the usual selection of Triton rings that every other jewelry store has so I was curious how good this sale was. The saleslady tried to push me to look at white gold at every chance she could. No big deal. Always try to upsell...sure. But I was just like no thanks. I like the look of tungsten. After I picked one I liked, she asked the manager to get me a price. When he walked over to give me a price, he was like you should check out the white gold rings. Again I said no thanks, I am interested in tungsten. He pushed again and was like the white gold rings are on sale too. I said no thanks, I just like the look of tungsten. He quoted me $288 for the ring I was looking at. I asked about another tungsten ring and he quipped, "It's tungsten. They're all cheap. Who cares!" and walked away. Indeed...$300 to me is nothing. I have plenty of money. I would have bought the ring on site that day since it was a good price. I was also looking for a woman's wedding band, which is significantly more expensive and I could have thrown him business in the thousands with better margins. But whatever. read more
