My husband had sinus allergy problem more than 2 months so we decided to go to Joseph Medical this morning. The male nurse was so friendly and dr. Kong was so nice to listen to his problems and I asked her to give me a cold sore medication too. Today, we had so many pills to take care of our health issues. I felt a lot better w dr. Dr. Chun has been my PCP for past 3 years until beginning of this year. I was having pain in my upper stomach and was vomiting. He sent me out for blood work and I was advised Helocobacter was causing pain. I took necessary medication but it wasn't getting better. The list of foods I couldn't take grew longer and longer. This year my PCP changed to different medical group. The first thing they did was to send me out for ultrasound. Gallstones were found and all the list of symptoms I had for past 3 years was caused by Gallstones. Thank you Dr. Chun for 3 years of pain. read more

There were times this facility was better than now. Came here for the blood test with the appointment and took more than one hour. There was no doctor available anymore on Saturday. Only a nurse practitioner is available on Saturday. For the blood test you need an appointment, and this place was available...and now I know why. First and last time coming here. Went for annual physical and blood works. Things got uncomfortable when the Dr made a series of inquiries and remarks including if I was married, that I should get marry if I want kids etc. What got me very uneasy was when I told the dr I've been stress. His follow up question was do I go to church. Which in my opinion was highly inappropriate. I went for medical consultation not religious advice. Further more he didn't even ask what denomination i am or if I am practicing at all. I change the subject and redirected the topic back to my medical concern. The Dr then proceed to write down 3 churches near my house on a piece of paper. I can't believe he was pushing his religion on me and made me think does he do that to everyone. They are accepting our insurance again, and they have hired a nurse practitioner (Michelle Tran) who specializes in children. Michelle has a terrific manner with kids! My wife was also happy to find there is a new female doctor (Jane Kong) here, as she is much more comfortable in the exam room with a lady doctor. The wait time with an appointment is around 30 minutes to the pre-exam room, and another 15 or 20 before the actual exam - about average, in my experience. We still miss Dr. Lin, but their current arrangement works great for us! read more

Just one visit here will show you exactly why this place has such horrible reviews. Daisy, my nurse, was amazing. She was very kind and empathetic, and a great listener. If she was the only person I spoke with during my visit, I would've given five stars. But she wasn't. Receptionists are the forefront of customer service, since they're the patients' first encounter. The white lady in the front with short hair and glasses, the one I assume is the reason for all these one-star receptionist reviews, was extremely rude and unpleasant. She didn't even bother to make eye contact with me during my question, and made no attempt to even act like she cared. Why work in healthcare if you don't like dealing with patients? I truly do not understand how one can be so cold and apathetic towards someone seeking genuine advice from a healthcare professional. This medical clinic is SCAMMER - Watch out! I have taken my families for more than 16 years, just last few years the office workers started performing SCAMS & over charging customers. Just because many patients are non-English speakers (Koreans, Spanish speakers, middle easterners, elders) they take advantage of them because they don't know how to fight back. SO DISGUSTING!!! The doctors are great, but you WILL get a major STRESS & sickness following after because of the office workers and the clinic managers. They will pull some scam and forcing you to pay extra money. First, they tell you how much the TOTAL IS. You may be told you'll get discount if you pay cash or you will have to pay full regular amount if you're paying with credit card and/or insurance. Once I decided to pay in cash 'cause some vaccines were not covered by my insurance. Then I paid with a personal check full amount. 3 months later, we get a call from the clinic stating that they didn't charge full amount and additional $100 is due. About 9 months later, I'm getting constant billing demanding for $100 payment. Went to speak with billing manager (Grace Kim), she said they made some mistakes, but she said .... "this is a common mistake & practice by our billing department", and I was told I still have to pay. The doctors know that I'm a law enforcement, but the office workers and managers don't know that I'm a law enforcement officer. I Filed complaints with BBB & Consumer Affair!!! I strongly ENCOURAGE anyone and EVERYONE to file complaints with BBB (Better Business Bureau) https://www.bbb.org/cons... AND Consumer Affair http://www.dca.ca.gov/co... I'm a law enforcement officer for the past 24 years. This is not acceptable! My wife had food poisoning the day before calling this place. She had to miss work because symptoms were getting worse. WORST doctor's office visit experience. Even though I made the appointment I had to wait 1 hour. After an hour of waiting, (people who walked in later than me complained to front desk, and front desk let those walk-in people see doctor first). After an hour I asked them why aren't they letting me go in, the office lady was saying "Oh, who are you? you still haven't gone in yet?" WOW.. I have signed and provided my insurance information ONE HOUR AGO. OK.. after all that I still couldn't been seen by the regular doctor that I was seeing before, I was seen by a new PA that I have never met before. The WORST part --- they billed the insurance company and I made online payment right away. Doctor's office is keep sending me the bills saying it's overdue. I called them to sort this out and they made me wait 20 minutes. When I told them I paid online, they told me "Call the insurance and sort this out yourself". First of all, I work at a insurance company, if they want to get paid, they can easily follow up online. TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL WITH INSURANCE CLAIMS. The front desk ladies are SO RUDE. They are acting like patients are against them and not helpful at all, their tone of voice and the word choice is really rude (especially you are 20's like me, if you are young, they don't have respect AT ALL. The negative reviews are accurate. 45-60 minute wait time after your appointment. The reason is usually "Doctor likes to spend quality time with each patient". Well, then schedule someone an hour later! Rude receptionist, don't bother asking any question. Most importantly, be aware of getting pulled back for more procedures/appointments that are not needed. I'm a healthy man got talked into 2 separate blood tests (because the first one wasn't "adequate") then an ultrasound, then subsequent visits to wait 60 mins each for the doctor to say that the prognosis are good and I'm healthy, then few weeks later I get a bill in the mail, then another bill. This all started with something small which I got taken care of. 4 visits (and 4 bills) later, I caught on! They called again last week to schedule another appointment to go over one more result even though I was told on the phone the results are good but doctor would like to meet with you. I went there for some mucus in my chest did some adborteral (sp) and they left the rest of the vials with me and since my LA doctor would give me the rest of the vials to take home and use my home machine I thought it was same practice here. NO instead, they called the police on me and said I stole a huge bag of vials. 1. There was 15 vials in the bag total. 2. They have my passport, my home address, my cell phone number. What kind of thief gives all their information before "stealing" something. I had my wife and my 3 kids with me while at the doctor. My wife met me there, so when we left we were in the parking lot for over 20 minutes, nobody ever came out to ask us about anything. I have never been so embarrassed in all my life with this lowlife place. I actually said to them when I dropped off the vials that I hope they don't get hit by lighting next week. This review is about Dr Rana Choi. I've been a patient at this location for about 5yrs. Dr Joseph Chun was my original Dr. I was happy with his service. Then, I met Dr Rana Choi. She's been taken care of me since then. Just few days ago, I visited her due to really bad flu. The way she took care of me was above and beyond my expectation. She did everything she possibly could to find a cure for me. It is one of those experience where you can feel how Doctor care about you in personal and as well as professional level. My prior experience with her always been the same. She is really awesome. I have no intention of going anywhere else. If you need a Doctor who truly care about you, you must see Dr Rana Choi. Dr. Chun is a very experienced doctor. However, the front office staff members are very rude and unprofessional. Plus, even with an appointment, the average waiting time is 1-2hrs. Doctor never gave me a follow up call after a test. I had to always call and leave a couple messages to get the results. It is usually very hard to get hold of him. The worst thing is I cannot even make an appointment with Dr. Chun since he has so many patients. My kids were very sick but never got a same day appointment. He is in the Buena Park office only M and W for pediatric patients. That's another reason that it is usually very hard to schedule an appointment with him. Numerous times, I ended up taking my kids to an urgent care instead. The previous pediatrician, Dr Han and Michelle (nurse practitioner) were excellent, both left the joseph medical group. That's why I ended up switching to a different pediatrician for my kids. I don't recommend this place. read more

Sometimes it doesn't seem like you need to bother making an appointment because either way you will waiting at least 30 minutes after you arrive. Overall the facility is okay at best. My experience with Dr. Kim was great. I'm used to doctors making me feel rushed. Here I felt listened to, I actually had all my questions and my concerns addressed. Dr. Kim was empathetic to the difficult situation I'm currently going through with a very sick family member. I left feeling better and knew I'd found my new doctor. They are all very helpful. The wait was a bit long, and the staff wasn't really on the friendly side, but that might have been due to how packed they were for the day and were a bit tied up. I think all the Korean doctors and nurses were great, and they all knew what they were doing pretty well, but there was this one other nurse who seemed to be new, because she kept on having to leave the room to ask questions in the middle of measuring my blood pressure. read more

The worst!!! My infant baby was victim of malpractice by Dr. Han and Dr. Bang. They prescribed my 3 weeks old infant baby, a medication with steroid that no other pediatrician will ever prescribe unless to an adult with serious pain. came in at 945 for my 10am appointment. the receptionist was very rude when she asked me to fill out the paperwork. i also noticed that she was rude to other patients and anyone who called. blah... they took me in little after 10 to get blood pressure checked and other routine things. soon after they sent me in a room to wait for the doctor. 11am. i see salesmen walk in wanting to see the doctor to introduce new medicine and whatta you know, i finally see a damn doctor. he spends couple mins talking to them to recieve his free samples then disappears again. 12am no doctor 1230am no doctor 1245 doctor comes in and says sorry for the wait i tell him about why im there and only spend about 5 mins before he decides that i should just get a blood and urine test. he then says he would call me the following week to let me know the results, but of course the guy doesnt call. so to sum things up, spent 2 hours at this place waiting for the doctor only to accomplish absolutely nothing. Even without looking at the reviews, i think this place speaks for itself... and also i am going to HATE myself for rating medial professionals,... there should not be rating but then again, do your job right. where do i start??? its hard because if you were never seen, its hard to rate. so i will rate whatever seen. i took my mother here due to HMO and the "korean" thing. they seemed to be on top of their game to make appointments but wherever they were free so.... no problems. When i went there (mind you, my life is on schedule so when i take time out, that means certain death for my school, because i have really tight schedule). we went there as signed in appointment clip board and they were already unfriendly (korean places they talk either in higher pitch and or they talk in honorific term) but okay, whatever they must be busy. so we sat down for about 30mins and my mother need to get up but she asked me to check in the front why they are taking so long. so i went up and asked how long is the wait, and they just mumbled and asked my mother name and date of birth. they said they will let us know so have a seat. about another 30 minutes passed and they called us back and said that we don't have appointment today, my mother said you guys are the ones who gave me the appointment today and they just had an attitude like "so? what about it" i was super pissed because now i wasted 2 hours,... after i put my mother back in the car i went back to make sure they didn't confused my mother with someone else. second appointment, my mother said that instead of seeing the doctor 2 times she wanted to see him after such gets the x-rays, so the office scheduled her to Saturday. and we showed up on saturday and checked in on appointment as usual. i got up around 20 minute mark to see if they are busy and they weren't and i asked how long it may take, they said they will call us if they get to our number. WTF? okay... at this time my mother's name is high lighted on appointment clipboard. total of 1 hour passed and people behind us is moving right in. my mother was getting impatient so she went to the table and asked when is she gonna the Dr? they first said you already went in and the doctor you mention does not work today. *Ladies and Gentlemen,* this is a PSA, the people working in this office have dementia... the high lighted names means they went in to go see the doctor, which my mother did not. the doctor was not even working today and they still check us in. so we sat there for 1 hour and again wasting another 2 hours at this place. they told us it was schedule next saturday. (my mother a week ago got off the phone with these people and told me it was on saturday, may 7th, so i don't know where the miscommunication was.) they didn't look like they did something wrong, nor it was a mistake. they just sat there, not even trying to fix a problem. so we took off. waste of my time. i'm sure most days they are nice people, i'm sure the doctor is a good guy. please hire some people who have some social skills and someone nice... read more

What an unfortunate office this place is for the doctors. I took my mom in one time and we got to see Dr. Uk who was extremely kind and genuinely cared about my mom's health. However, the whole receptionist desk along with the people need a complete makeover. Absolutely the rudest and most incompetent set of ladies at that front desk I've ever seen. I mean, come on, you work in healthcare, the word "CARE" is embedded in that very word. Don't even bother calling, they will not help you.
