***READ THIS BEFORE CHOOSING THIS PLACE!!! Went there for dinner with the family. It wad the WORST service I've ever had in my life. We ordered appetizers and half of them came with the dinner. Then since my hamburger hadn't even been made yet I cancelled it and the waitress cancels the rest of our order, therefore cancelling my little girl's mac and cheese. When the mac and cheese did come out of the kitchen, the waitress tried to give it away to the rest of the waitresses that were hanging out with the owner in a booth ignoring their customers. My kids ordered from a kids menu they gave them and then they argued with my wife and I when they did not receive their complete meal. Lastly when the bill came I had to notify the manager of the bad service and the unserved food we were being charged for and she argues with my wife that my kids ordered from their old kids menu and certain items of their meal were no longer included, after we had just told her the waitress gave them the menus and never told us it was an old menu. At this point I couldn't of cared any less if she discounted my bill or gave my kids dessert. I was fed up, wanted to pay my bill and wanted to leave. I will never return to this place ever again and I hope they close soon. They are a disgrace to the restaurant that was there previously! read more

Third time im here and worst time ever! Security in front with long bear is a yerk! We were told we didnt have to wait in line due to we had bottle service, when we get here he says no. WIlling to pay to go in but it was too little for him. While asking him to let us in he ignores us and took other people in. Loved the place not anymore ! Not even the owner and acts like the owner! Horrible service, first off, it was not busy at all, so we decided to try it out instead of Portos or Lock and key, mistake! We went in for Sunday brunch, no deals, but still we thought we would try it out, party of about 12...anyhow, everyone was getting their meals sporadically as if we didn't order together, the first person got their meal about 20mins away from the last...horrible. we asked for water many times before we actually would get it from different waiters/waitresses. Mind you, we also had to wait for our drinks, even something as simple as ketchup. Our orders were mixed up as well...anyhow we disregarded all of that and then a friend saw that if you checked in, you got 20% of entire bill. She did, and when the bill came, they said they had to get the manager to approve, well he did in one condition, he whispered, "if you give us a great review" horrible right? If that wasn't rude and enough, our bill was about $300ish originally, then it was about 270something....then the same guy came back and whispered, "remember, the tip is from the original bill." Again, wow!!! As we were finishing up, the mix of wiaters/waitresses sat in a booth staring at us like vultures, what was that about? Then we had debit cards to put a certain amount in and $200 in cash, but the waitress came back pretty much putting 200 into one card...wth? Service is just not worth it, not hollywood, no service and just unsatisfying food....the country potatoes had like 10 little sliced potatoe pieces with 2 pieces of sliced onion and 2 of bell peppers...just not recommended!!!! Just left this place after a terrible encounter with the bouncer. I guess this place doesn't respect their clients and definitely is looking forward to continuing to loose business to Lock and Key that does a better job at treating their clients with respect. Last time I have a get together here. If you like being around ghetto hot headed bouncers, waiting forever for a drink, go to Josephs, otherwise save your money and frustration and go somewhere else. Being a Downey resident, it sucks to see local businesses going downhill like this, but I won't continue to support them with my business. This place doesn't even deserve one star. Friday January 17 me and my three friends walked in. One of them was the birthday girl. We had made reservations and they told us who ever had answered the phone when we called never wrote it down. Are you kidding me?! So the birthday girl showed them her phone with their number the day she had called and they still weren't able to do anything about it. There was even an empty table against the wall and three empty tables in the back. The old man with the pony tail is who we spoke to, and he was very rude. I would never go here again because of him and because one of the workers didn't do their job and write our reservations. This was very unprofessional. After we were all ready to celebrate her birthday and got denied for the restaurants fault, we decided to go across the street to Bastards... Their service was amazing, along with their food so I would recommend bastards across the street over this place. read more

I was there with 5 girls celebrating a bday and spent over $500 and was told to leave because my husband had on a football jersey after a football game. The security there are useless they think they're big and bad. You can't even enjoy being there since all the do is watch what you're doing. The music was alright but having to get the drinks is horrible. Nothing but lots of drunk people there at the bar if you try and grab a drink you might end up having to fight someone since they think you're disrespecting them and security wouldn't even be there to stop it. That also included the restrooms there's only one stall and two toilets, the place is small. Wouldn't recommend it... there's no place for you to sit down so if you want to rest you would have to be standing up the whole time. Being my first time going there it, it will also be my last. Started off by getting our drinks super late we waited over 20 minutes and this is when the place was dead literally about 20 guest for a staff of 25 they also took an extremely long tine to serve. The food was stale and we ended up just moving on to the drinks so don't bother coming here for dinner it is disgusting. After my first drink my friend and I stepped out for 20 min and when we came back the bouncer was hostile and ended up threatening to slap me in the face I was shocked. Never have I been disrespected in front of peers and colleagues like tonight and my friends stood up and walked out we paid our bill in full but left ashamed of how low and trashy the staff were towards me I was the only target but everyone around me was in shock at how the bouncer yelled at me for absolutely no reason. The drinks were good but where I have a problem is when I got there the night of 1/9/15 to celebrate my birthday with 3 other people we were told that we couldn't be seated at a table unless we were 5+. I saw at LEAST 4 tables where only 4 people were sitting. So we went to the bar. After about 20 minutes the door man came and said he had to take the chairs. Really? You won't seat us at a table, and yes there were open tables, and we can't sit at the bar? I really don't know if I will be back after I was ready to drop some serious dough for my birthday and this happens. Where to start! It's obvious the managers could care less about customer service. I've been one time and will never come back! Waitresses are less than knowledgable. Brainless monkeys would best describe. Wait time is ridiculous. You can visibly see open tables, but if you do not look like your going to blow 100's of dollars your business is unappreciated. The staff is extremely uneducated. Do to the fact I am a vegan. When I asked if the chef could accommodate, I was asked, "what's vegan?" My 5 year old sister knows what a vegan is. Good grief! Second they continuously screw up your order. Over charge for the portion and the food is mediocre at best! In a rush to close your tab? Expect to wait 30+ minuets. Not to mention the waitresses drink while on duty. They seem more concerned about looking sleazy than providing an enjoyable experience. I Do not and will not recommend this place to anyone! I can go to a far busier bar in down town LA or Fullerton and will not have to deal with any of the headaches as I or my friends have had to at this establishment. The atmosphere is rather over done. If you want a low key hip place to dwell this place is not it. Try Fullerton or Huntington Beach, they have way better bar and grills with better service and more bang for your buck! read more

First we HAD to get bootle service for a booth, which I was fine with but they wouldn't let people stand around it, we HAD to get another bootle or another booth! The place is small as is its not like people can avoid from being standing up.. Then I get my tab and they have suggested gratuity amounts but they decide to add it to my tab, how is that "suggested" it's more of demanding for it ... We got turn away for being intoxicated and didn't want any former Marines there. First of all we wanted to start our night there, so of course not we were not intoxicated, I just got off work. The host was UNPROFESSIONAL, which of course there you will alway have your few disgruntled employee anywhere, which is understandable . What got me upset the most, they didn't want to provide services to Veterans "bullshit", because they knew were heading to Basters after. Had a horrible Father's Day dinner! When we arrived the music was so loud we had to yell just to tell the hostess how many were in our party. As we waited in this rude environment, our waiter comes out with our appetizers and a portion of our main course...because he informs us that my dish was never ordered! One would think that now, with the knowledge of a major screw up, that the rest of the food would be made perfectly. Guess again, it gets worse. My ribeye comes smothered with mushrooms (which I hate and I originally told him I did not want--probably too loud for him to hear me) and with some orange rice that they want to say is rice pilaf. OMG..definitely not worth it unless all your looking for is a bar. Definitely NOT a restaurant. First time here and it's not bad at all. We were seated fast and approached by our waiter right away. We ordered the wings first and they were delicious. I'm very picky with my wings and if they're not perfect I will not like them. They were perfectly cooked and a lil crispy just like I like my wings. The waiter brought us more than 1 ranch right away which was a plus because most places swear 1 is good enough for 12 wings! He constantly refilled our drinks without us ever having to ask. He also helped us get to know more about the restaurant and the chefs since it was our first time there and the food tasted just as he described it would. Fresh and cooked how we wanted it. Both my husband and I ordered the honey bacon burger. I'm NOT a burger person at all but this one was probably the best burger I've ever had. Could be the pregnancy cravings talking but it was very good! The reason I'm giving this 5 stars is because of our waiter. He was very nice and professional. Helped us for beginners. Made sure everything was good and constantly made sure we had what we needed without feeling like an overbearing tip hungry waiter. He was just perfect for us and I wish I could remember his name because he deserves all the credit for our 1st visit.
