Burger and steak were delicious. The burger was definitely made fresh not frozen. This restaurant even though they offer gluten free pasta they have no clue when you say gluten free not to put fried onions on a steak. Onions coated with flour. We did start with wine and the Chianti was bad. It was vinegar tasting. The manager offered us a new glass from a new bottle. We started to feel how much can you complain. Tonight they had father son singers and they were fabulous. Servers were really great.

I visited Joseph's Italian Steakhouse during Hudson Valley Restaurant Week and opted to order from the special prix fixe menu. While Restaurant Week menus usually highlight the best a restaurant has to offer--and have impressed me in the past--this time was a bit of a mixed bag. We were served bread with packaged butter, which felt a little underwhelming considering the ambiance. For starters, we had mixed green salads, which were essentially small bowls of plain lettuce without any real presentation or excitement. It felt more like a box-checking item than a true appetizer. For the entrée, my husband ordered the Tuscan Short Ribs in a red wine reduction over mushroom risotto with vegetables. He really enjoyed it--the risotto was creamy and flavorful, and the short rib was cooked to perfection. The portion size was standard but satisfying. I chose the Pan-Seared Salmon with capers, roasted peppers, and risotto. Unfortunately, the salmon was overcooked and dry, and the combination of flavors didn't quite come together for me. While the portion was generous, it wasn't something I cared to finish--or take home. Dessert was a letdown as well. I had the chocolate cake, which tasted store-bought and lacked any real flavor. I ended up leaving most of it behind. The highlight of the evening wasn't the food, but rather the live music. A talented father-daughter duo performed on piano and vocals, adding a lovely and elegant touch to the atmosphere. Their music was truly the best part of the dining experience. Would I return? Possibly--but only if I ordered more selectively. Avoid the fish, and you might have a better experience. Joseph's has potential, but it depends on what you order.

Conveniently located on 9G next to the Roosevelt farm lane trail with the best 100 % usda certified steaks. Along with a great heated patio for anytime of year.

Our first visit and it was a great success! We decided to eat in the dining room which is a more intimate setting, but the patio is also available and they can close the outside doors when it gets cold outside. They also have live music 3 nights a week. We started with drink specials and a couple appetizers...shrimp cocktail and a caprese salad. For entrees, we had filet mignon, prime rib, bone in ribeye, and a fish and chips sandwich. Everything was great, and the filet mignon was so tender and juicy. Then the desserts...tiramisu, chocolate mousse cake, and apple cobbler a la mode! We were all stuffed! Service was amazing and the owner stopped by to chat after our meal. We will be back!

Plus coming here worked nicely- bc on this particular day, another rest'nt we wanted to go to ended up being temporarily closed for renovations, End C. is inviting with the bar off to the right and a few tables. The main dining room on the left gets cozier with dim lighting, has a romantic feel and even a grand piano that really adds to the vibe. My halibut with a tomato-"lobster sauce" was nice- but I wish the sauce had more of a lobster flavor or had some lobster chunks since that's how it was described. Hubs enjoyed his medium ribeye though. The service was great from start to finish and I loved the strawberry sorbet palate cleanser- such a nice touch. The cocktails totally knocked me off my feet and definitely one of the highlights of the night. End C. is a cozy steakhouse if you're celebrating something special or just looking for a nice dinner spot.

Although Poughkeepsie has a decent variety of excellent restaurant options, there aren't a lot of upscale places to select from. We opted to book reservations for Brasserie 292 for a Saturday night. When we arrived, we were nearing the end of the dinner rush. We were sat right away, unfortunately it wasn't all too romantic being sat in the middle of the restaurant but understandably the restaurant is on the smaller side. The waiter was attentive, and addressed any of our questions about the menu, even hunting down the bottle of pinot noir we ordered. We opted to start off our night by splitting a half-dozen oysters which came with their in-house hot sauce, and an order of pouple, which was cooked to perfection. For our entrees we selected the red wine braised lamb shank and the dry aged prime NY steak. Since sides for both entrees were not mentioned on the menu, we also ordered sides - wild mushrooms, brussels sprouts and crispy smoked peewee potatoes. Overall the food was excellent and I'm still dreaming about the mushrooms. If we lived locally, would we go back, maybe but overall we had a great experience. Since this was an upscale restaurant, I opted to not photograph our meals and enjoyed being present in the moment.

But I'm giving 4 stars because what I DID have was really good! I don't see it on the online menu so it may have been a special -- but they did a mushroom/vegetable risotto, which was flavorful and the perfect size to not overwhelm. If I can find out whether this is part of the regular menu, I'll return just for that! Service was great -- we were going to an event at the convention center, and could walk from there. So if you're going to something at the convention center and want a nice meal (especially date night) ahead of time, I'd suggest checking this place out.

Worth it? Mostly, yes! Food: 4/5 We tried a little bit of everything, the Seared chicken breast - Hands down my favorite dish of the night. Perfectly cooked, well-seasoned, and flavorful. Followed by the Bacon, egg, and homemade biscuit - A close second! The biscuit was dense and satisfying, and it had a really unique pesto-like sauce on top that made it memorable. Some other shout outs: 1) Orecchiette veggie pasta - Orecchiette is hard to find on menus, so I was delighted to see it here. It was a nice light option among our heavier dishes. 2) Jerk ribs - OK, so this is where my expectations and reality didn't fully align. They were well-cooked, but I'm a saucy girl, and these weren't as slathered or juicy as I'd hoped. That said, the rest of my table really enjoyed them. Also, that hibiscus lemonade? Chef's kiss. Refreshing and flavorful, and exactly the kind of detail that makes a place stand out to me. Service: 4/5 Now, here's where I was really surprised: one person was running the whole show. The head chef was managing the kitchen and the front of house--no servers, no extra help. Just him. For the amount of work that entails, he crushed it. Was it a bit slower than a staffed restaurant? Of course. But honestly, it gave the whole experience a humble, homegrown vibe that I appreciated. Also, it meant a lot to support a Black-owned restaurant and actually connect with the person behind the food. Final Thoughts: While we came for dinner, I could tell from the menu (and the vibe) that this place is really known for brunch. I'm genuinely curious to come back during brunch hours to see how the energy--and menu--might shift. Either way, it's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and looking for a spot with heart, flavor, and soul.

We visited on the Friday before V-day, the house was packed around 18:30. The wait was 45 mins which wasn't too bad for a Friday night. We decided to wait in the lobby after trying to find a cozy waiting spot near the bar and missing. My wife attempted to order me a mocktail, but of course the bar was crazy busy. When the bartender finally acknowledged her, the mocktail requests obviously threw the bartender for a loop because I ended up with watered down ginger beer and a sprig of mint. My advice for anyone looking for a virgin drink at this bar would be to order a club soda with lime and call it a night. We were seated at the 45 min mark, and were escorted to the packed bar, where they have some exterior tables for diners. My seat was in the middle of the couch split, which I found mighty uncomfortable so we opted to request a seat in the main dining room, which the staff happily obliged. With dinner we ordered hot tea and were given lukewarm water and a choice of Stash teas. Our beverage experience here was very disappointing. The calamari arrived and may have been the only highlight, although we didn't find it to have that fresh calamari texture. My wife ordered a ravioli with mushroom, and felt the pasta and veggies were just swimming in butter. I ordered my steak medium and it was okay, but the juices from the greens made the croquettes soggy, and unenjoyable. The server did his best, and all the staff here are so kind. Coulda been an off night but I doubt we'll be back anytime soon. The Mocktail Madam.
