I met George the owner was super nice and we chatted about the business and we are both from Brooklyn so ya figure the pizza will be good.

It slightly pains me to write this review, as my first experience at Cosimo's was soooooo good…read more Let's get on with it tho. We visited on the Friday before V-day, the house was packed around 18:30. The wait was 45 mins which wasn't too bad for a Friday night. We decided to wait in the lobby after trying to find a cozy waiting spot near the bar and missing. My wife attempted to order me a mocktail, but of course the bar was crazy busy. When the bartender finally acknowledged her, the mocktail requests obviously threw the bartender for a loop because I ended up with watered down ginger beer and a sprig of mint. My advice for anyone looking for a virgin drink at this bar would be to order a club soda with lime and call it a night. We were seated at the 45 min mark, and were escorted to the packed bar, where they have some exterior tables for diners. My seat was in the middle of the couch split, which I found mighty uncomfortable so we opted to request a seat in the main dining room, which the staff happily obliged. With dinner we ordered hot tea and were given lukewarm water and a choice of Stash teas. Our beverage experience here was very disappointing. The calamari arrived and may have been the only highlight, although we didn't find it to have that fresh calamari texture. My wife ordered a ravioli with mushroom, and felt the pasta and veggies were just swimming in butter. I ordered my steak medium and it was okay, but the juices from the greens made the croquettes soggy, and unenjoyable. The server did his best, and all the staff here are so kind. Coulda been an off night but I doubt we'll be back anytime soon. The Mocktail Madam.

This added so much to the overall experience. When eating there remember this is a learning environment so overlooking or being patient is important. The Calamari was perfectly fried with a slightly spiced tomato sauce. 19/10 Since the day was cold and rainy, I ordered the Tomato soup special. Creamy with well balanced basil notes from a basil oil and whole leaf. 9/10 The student who waited on us recommended a sandwich from the walk-in side of the dining area. The kitchen was gracious and agreed to make it for my husband. It was the star of the meal! Made from the sourdough pizza dough, it was layered with a perfectly fried chicken cutlet, arugula, fresh heirloom tomatoes, melted cheese, and a sauce!! The layers of flavors did exploded with each bite and was the best sandier have had in a long time! 10/10 The PEI Mussels were underwhelming despite the generous portion. What would have made the dish is more sauce, 7/10 The Zeppoli's were superb and again the recommendation to add a side of vanilla bean ice cream was spot on. Warm, pillowy and rich chocolate flavor enhanced by a warm milk chocolate sauce. Add a layer of vanilla ice cream and chefs kiss! 10/10

However, I thought I would enjoy the food more than I did, the mains were a little bland and underseasoned. I don't think I would return, although I do want to try the bakery at some point as the desserts were my favorite part.

We were one of the first guests to arrive and we had about a Halle hour to ourselves. We enjoyed our drinks and the food was delicious. The live piano music starting at 6pm was another great addition. We paid a lot more than we normally would for a night out, but from the friendly waitstaff (our main waiter was Joey and he was phenomenal), to the sorbet before the main meal to the hot towels at the end, you're paying for the experience and for the fantastic food.

Plus coming here worked nicely- bc on this particular day, another rest'nt we wanted to go to ended up being temporarily closed for renovations, End C. is inviting with the bar off to the right and a few tables. The main dining room on the left gets cozier with dim lighting, has a romantic feel and even a grand piano that really adds to the vibe. My halibut with a tomato-"lobster sauce" was nice- but I wish the sauce had more of a lobster flavor or had some lobster chunks since that's how it was described. Hubs enjoyed his medium ribeye though. The service was great from start to finish and I loved the strawberry sorbet palate cleanser- such a nice touch. The cocktails totally knocked me off my feet and definitely one of the highlights of the night. End C. is a cozy steakhouse if you're celebrating something special or just looking for a nice dinner spot.

I really enjoyed the freshness of the ingredients and simplicity of good ingredients with good equipment and technique. Nothing was being hidden, instead every component was highlighted. We were seated in the back near the pizza oven, which ended up being the best seat in the house because we got to meet Austin. He was absolutely fantastic. The energy, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality he brought to the experience made the evening so special. Mike was our server and he was also wonderful, checking in often and making sure everything was perfect. They had unfortunately run out of chicken parmesan, but instead of simply saying it wasn't available, they made it from scratch just for my husband. It was easily one of the best chicken parmesans we have ever had. The sauce was so incredible that we could not stop talking about it. Austin overheard us and, without us even asking, brought over a full bowl of the sauce so we could dip our pizza crust in it. That level of attention and care is something you rarely see. I ordered the New York style pizza and it was absolutely delicious. They use sourdough and King Arthur's flour, and you can truly taste the difference. The flavor and texture were outstanding. When we finished, they asked if we wanted dessert. We were hesitant because we were already so full, but Austin encouraged us to try their vanilla cheesecake and we are so glad he did. It was honestly some of the best cheesecake we have ever had. Between the phenomenal food, the thoughtful service, and the warm and welcoming atmosphere, this place completely exceeded our expectations. Experiences like this are rare and truly special. We will absolutely be back. Highly recommend!

My group of friends stayed for lunch at Bocuse for two hours. Oh what a culinary delight!…read more I've been wanting to go to a restaurant at the Culinary Institute of America for some time now. My friends and I were visiting the nearby Vanderbilt house and when I looked at CIA there was a 11:45 am opening left at Bocuse and I snagged it. CIA students alternate between doing the cooking and doing the serving at the CIA restaurants. Since we went in February, it was $30 each for a three course meal. It's $45 starting in mid April. We started off with freshly baked rolls and artisanal butter which was delicious and they asked us throughout the meal if we wanted more. For my first course I chose the garlic and butter drenched escargot which was deliciously marinated. Then I had the chicken in cream sauce with potato purée. Delicately delicious. And lastly my four layer chocolate in a glass had different chocolate and other flavors at each layer point. Overall a feast for the senses. Our student servers were charming and patient. They answered all our questions about their study. I look forward to trying additional CIA restaurants- they have Italian, New American and more. La Bocuse is a must try next time you're in the area.
