3.5/5 The tortas are meh but not something I would go out of my way for. The parking situation is pretty ridiculous, with a super small lot and some people parking wherever or however they want. The overall vibe is pretty cool, and the horchata was really good, not too sweet. The nachos could use more meat, and as I mentioned earlier, the torta isn't anything special. The customer service is good, but they tend to want to take your plates away quickly, probably because they don't have much space. If they're busy, they ask to clear your plates early, which is understandable. read more

I just recently found this spot in my neighborhood, and I'm so glad I did! The food is incredible, and Jaime (the owner) makes the experience even better. He's super friendly, always checks in on us, and shares great stories about his journey--once you try his food, you'll want to hear everything he has to say. My favorite dish so far is the chilaquiles plate. The quality is top-notch, and it's actually healthy--the chips are baked instead of fried. The Spanish rice was perfectly cooked (no hard pieces like you get at other places), and the beans were Peruvian instead of pinto. Bonus: both the rice and beans are vegan and gluten-free, so you leave feeling great after eating here. I came back the very next day for the menudo (available Fri-Sun), and it was amazing too. It's made with calf meat, which gives it a higher-quality taste you don't find everywhere. This place is definitely a new go-to for me--I'll be back soon to try more! read more

The food was really good and flavors on point. The service was fast and friendly. We didn't have to wait much for three plates of chilaquiles. The ambiance was really homey and welcoming. It was my first time trying this Gem. It was recommend by my sister and I'm sure glad we stopped it. I'll definitely be back. So good and much needed!! I'm always disappointed by the lack of authenticity in some Mexican restaurants but this place was a 10 out of 10. From the café de olla, to the Chilaquiles prepped queso panela; this place was everything! My husband took a bite of his birria torta was he immediately knew it was gonna be good. What a nice little hole in the wall place this was! First of all, the ambience and the plating that they use is the definition of rustic. Love all the custom decor they have in here, especially the chairs. We were greeted warmly by whom I assume is the owner multiple times, alongside with the nice lady who was cooking up a feast for us. I ordered the birria en consome and it was delicious. It wasn't greasy like other places and wasn't too heavy so I was actually able to eat it all in one sitting. It was super hearty and homey. Owner was friendly and offered suggestions while I ordered the food, he even chatted with us for a bit. The cubana was good, didn't feel heavy or greasy. Ate here about a month ago and forgot to leave a review: Food was very delicious and authentic. It was very inviting and its family owned. The owner, his wife, and daughter were very friendly and generous. The owner takes a lot of pride in his quality of food and service and it was not disappointing! The atmosphere felt like you went over to your Tio's house and they are making you a fresh Mexican dish made with passion and enjoyment. It's rare to walk into a restaurant these days and have that home cooked meal vibe with genuine hospitality. Towards the end of our lunch, the owner gave my 3 daughters a sample of their ice cream in their cute little clay cups! They let my girls keep them and they were excited about it! Will definitely be coming back and I highly recommend this place if you're looking for authentic Mexican food that is also good quality ingredients, great atmosphere, and amazing customer service! What a hidden jewel in the Inland Empire, this place is absolutely spotless, urban modern decor with a touch of a Rancho. We got to try the Menudo this morning, lots of flavor and aroma from the herbs and the spicy salsa roja it's just perfection. I highly recommend to visit Tortas El Charro. Everything tasted fresh. The almond croissant latte was great, not overly sweet. We enjoyed everything we ordered. It's a smaller spot, so seated is limited but everything is clean. This sandwich was super flavorful containing hummus, cucumber, pesto, avocado, and feta cheese. My only criticism is that it was grilled, and therefore the lovely sourdough bread was a bit greasy. I would certainly have the sandwich again and just ask that it be toasted and not grilled.

It looked like it was made with love. The egg+cheese sandwich absolutely carried the experience (seriously, give that thing a raise), and the matcha held its own as it was refreshing! Now the not so great... the huevos rancheros were unfortunately very, very, salty.. but I didn't want my money to go to waste so I made myself eat it.. The coffee was bitter, pretty but bitter. I usually like bitter coffee but this one caught me off guard haha The Customer service wasn't great.. The server asked if we needed anything else but was already walking away before we could answer. Overall, the matcha and egg+cheese sandwich was the best part from this experience. I would recommend those two.

The owner, Santiago, allowed us to come a half hour beforehand to decorate & we came in, not knowing what to expect. Upon our arrival, the birthday cake was promptly whisked away to the kitchen, we found Santiago PERSONALLY on his hands & knees fixing the electrical cords for us, our servers introduced themselves & graciously helped us rearrange the set-up to accommodate the band we brought in. Then helped us rearrange the layout yet again once we realized the band needed to be next to the electrical outlets. I was embarrassed to even ask so I started doing it myself but they jumped right in without being asked. If I'm being honest, usually I'm not a fan of buffet meals, so I wasn't expecting much. But everything served was SO delicious! The fajitas were my favorite dish, not only flavorful but also nice & moist. Not only that, but they refilled the food for us as it ran out. They brought out to-go boxes for the leftovers, & best believe my family took home every last bite! The lime margarita tower was SO yummy but also hella dangerous because it was strong!! Other restaurants will give you watered down drinks but El Patron doesn't play. We were only planning on one but it was so good, we couldn't resist getting another. From start to finish, the servers (Leslie and Cecilia) were on POINT. Their service went above & beyond expectations-- continuously checking on us, refilling drinks/food, taking photos, etc. Not only that, but also, when my young autistic nephew unfortunately got sick, they were so incredibly compassionate about it & helped clean up the mess right away. I was absolutely blown away by the attention to detail & quality of care. As my grandma is getting older, we are especially cherishing these final years with her. We spent thousands overall (venue, music, photographer, special mass, etc) but every last cent was worth seeing her happy with all of her loved ones. After many months of planning, I was super nervous about something going wrong but I can honestly say that core memories were made. Thank you to Santiago, Leslie & Cecilia for your hospitality, good food & work ethic-- it truly meant so much for our family unit.
