Was here during the holidays with the hubby and my mother-in-law. They had a nicely decorated Christmas tree with a sombrero on top. Service from the host and server were okay. Oddly, I took very few photos. (Will post those shortly.) I ordered chicken tortilla soup and salad. Mom-in-law got the same. Wasn't super memorable nor was it bad. MIL seemed to really like hers as she almost finished her soup and salad. Hubby though got a plate of enchiladas, a taco, beans and rice. Maybe I should have ordered what he had! Haha. We just completely moved here and we're looking for a good Mexican food restaurant we had tried several and last night tried this place they have a great ambience very clean inside and we were very satisfied with our food service was great we were greeted and seated immediately. I used to love the Yucaipa Jose's, but my last three times there, I have been very unsatisfied. My last time there, I ordered taquitos, and the meat tasted like deli meat. My friend ordered chicken chimichangas, and they were basically no chicken at all. She let the waitress know, and the meal was removed from her bill. I will never go back. If the food wasn't good here I would never come back. I called to place an order (which I frequently do) so the food is ready when I arrive. The worker asked if it was okay to place me on hold and continued to do so. I was on hold for about 10 minutes while I was already driving to the restaurant, got to the restaurant parked and walked in to see the hostess and the servers not busy at all. Mind you this is 5pm in the afternoon, not a peak time for dinner. When greeted I showed the server my phone and said "Still waiting to place an order" he made no comment and proceeded to take my order, then said he'd bring it out to me. No apology or excuse as to why I was placed on hold for that long, just walked away. Horrible attitude overall couldn't imagine if he was my server and I was dining in. read more

Just got a salad to go from Jose's in Yucaipa and I couldn't eat any of it. The lettuce was dark green and slimy. $24 for a salad.

From the moment we walked in we were greeted by the hostess. We asked to sit in the bar which only was a few minute wait. Once we sat down we got our chips and salsa. The waiter offered us to try a new beer on tap and the person in my party ordered it and said it was good. Also the waiter said that they had other new items to try. If you want real Mexican food stay away from here. Taco Bell has better food than this for a quarter of the price. Service was decent. The atmosphere was weird though playing country music instead of Mexican music is crazy in a so called Mexican restaurant. They barely fill you up with meats in your burrito or tacos most just fillers like rice and beans. The quesadillas they had with supposedly milanesa tasted like a chicken tender. All in all I'd avoid coming here to eat if you want real Mexican food and look for better alternatives because this is not it. read more

Bad customer service from beginning to end. We(party of 2) waited a long time to be seated which would have been fine if the place was busy but there were so many empty seats. We finally get seated and the server took our drink order, The Margarita was not well made. Then we were completely forgotten. We weren't even brought water or a refill on the chips. The 2 families(bigger groups than my table) that got there after us, got seated beside us and they got their drinks, food and got to finish their food before someone finally came and took our order. Went here last night for dinner and the service was great- margarita was fantastic for Happy Hour. The only thing was that I suspected something was up with the tortilla soup. For $50 bucks it wasn't too bad but I think it should come with sides of sour cream, guacamole, and salsa for that price as well. Poor service and wrong orders. Everytime! We decided to give this location a third and final try despite the issues on the first two visits. Thursday night half a dozen people in the restaurant took 15 minutes just to be seated. We had an issue with one of the dinners asked if we could send it back. They said well if you're gonna send it back and get the same thing it's all gonna taste the same. Huh? Chose a different item. I completely finished my dinner and we are still waiting 20 minutes later for the food to show up. I brought it their attention and they were surprised the food had never even showed up. I finally said go ahead and just boxed up take it to go All the time we sat there not one drink refill not one visit from the waiter nothing. We keep getting the same goofy kid as our waiter. Every time we come there each time he screws up the order unapologetic for the poor service blamed the kitchen. The issue is there was no one in charge. There's no manager no assistant manager to remedy the service and food issues only the bartender who was very responsive to try and resolve the problem when I brought it to his attention because I couldn't find anyone else to tell ! This is a well established restaurant. To me, the cuisine is pretty standard tex-mex fare. My husband and I have been a few times and while he raves about this location and rates it a 4 star, I find it to be more like a 3 star, so let's split the difference and round up because the service is consistently good. The sauces... that is what keeps the man coming back. The nuevo sauce and salsa vinaigrette are outstanding. Per the hubs, they have the best green enchiladas in town. I found the carne asada dish to be kind of tough and overcooked, but I liked the quesadilla. We go here every other month. I guess it's in our rotation for a quick lunch. read more

After a long drive we were excited to not only stop for dinner, but to see my sweet niece and her family as well. We met up at Jose's for some yummy Mexican food. It's in a busy parking lot shared with many other businesses. It is not a free standing restaurant, but part of a strip mall. The location is not huge, but I wouldn't say small either. Once inside we were greeted right away. I can see having to wait outside if busy since the check in area is tight. We were taken to a booth which was pretty close to the bar. Our drink ordered were taken quick and chips and salsa brought over. The salsa had a good kick to it and chips weren't stale and I enjoyed them both. I knew instantly I was ordering the chile verde because it's my go to if available typically . Well, either that or anything shrimp. Everyone else ordered fajitas, chile Colorado and I can't remember the other items, but everything g came out quick, looked delicious and the portions HUGE. Our tortillas were fresh and soft and oh man everything was so good! the table ordered some margaritas and beer as well. I had a Coke Zero and while the waitress brought seconds rounds of alcohol my drink was never refilled or I even asked if I'd like anything else. No biggie I should really chill on the soda anyway, but you should be aware of your entire table when serving. Once we were done our check was brought quickly, to go boxed given and the plates cleared so we could chat a little longer before leaving. I see they had another location as well.
