This was our second time here and we will certainly keep coming back!! We were there on a Friday night for dinner, barely made it on time to order our first round of drinks during the happy hour that ends at 6pm. The margaritas are some of the best around and I love when they use aqua fresca as the base for them, making them so fresh! The restaurant was starting to get busy and everyone was in a good mood. There's always a good vibe especially by the bar and our server was really nice too. I ordered the fish and shrimp tostada this time around and they aren't stingy with the ceviche or the avocado. It was very good and satisfying. My hubby ordered the mojarra frita which is the exact same thing he ordered last time because that's what brought us here in the first place! He was craving a nice sized fried fish and he really liked the one here. Looks like they have a nice brunch on Sundays too, so we'll have to try that out one weekend soon! read more

it's Friday 3/20/2026 about 4:00 PM during Lent and since we were in the area we heard about a spot to have fish tacos in Yucaipa, CA. and not knowing where to go we looked up on YELP for the places to go. Chose Del Mar Grill & Cantina since Seafood is posted on their ad and rated with 4.3 Stars. This is our 1st visit and last to dine with the DEAD (Día de los Muertos Celebration). We ordered the Fish Tacos, the fish had no taste and in my opinion the fish was frozen and was fried to Long. So much for Seafood. read more

I had one of the worst dining experiences ever at Del Mar Cantina. The service was completely unacceptable from start to finish. I specifically asked for NO shrimp on two molcajetes, yet both dishes came out with shrimp anyway. When I pointed it out, our waitress, Nilayza, said she would just bring me a plate to put the shrimp on the side -- but that's not the point. What if someone had a serious shrimp allergy? Then I ordered two tacos de birria and was given quesabirrias instead. When I mentioned the mistake, she asked if I still wanted them since she had already charged me, which made no sense because that's not what I ordered. To make things worse, they never even placed the order for my brother's kids. The kids were left waiting hungry for a long time with no apology or explanation. When the food finally came out, the situation was still handled very poorly. When it came time to pay, I gave both cash and a card, and it took an unusually long time to process. I had to walk up to the register myself to ask what was going on, and the staff didn't seem to know what they were doing. No apologies, no accountability -- just overall terrible service. But if you're nice, you can even mix and match--one of each for the same price! For my first Taco-Tuesday here, I came with my wife and son. Our waitress was incredibly sweet and didn't hesitate to share her favorite taco fillings. Based on her recommendations, I ordered a shredded beef hard taco and an al pastor soft taco. The portions were generous! The hard taco was packed with meat and topped with a colorful assortment of veggies and cheese. The soft taco had tender, flavorful meat, classic cilantro and onions, and a dollop of guacamole. In a taco showdown of epic proportions, I must vote the soft taco as the winner! The order also comes with complimentary chips and salsa--and honestly, I'd recommend coming here just for those alone. The salsa has a great kick and is absolutely delicious. The ambiance was calm and relaxing, not too loud, with a tasteful selection of upbeat songs playing in the background. If you come early (between 5-6 PM), you'll easily beat the dinner rush. This is a good place to have brunch at. You get to try a little of everything and don't have to settle on just one dish. I was happy to try things I normally wouldn't have ordered that turned out to be my favorite things on the menu! The cost (right now) for the brunch buffet is $29 per adult. The beans and rice are really good and I like to put chile con carne on top of the rice and eat it all together. Ugh! It's so good! The staff is very quick and they treat us well. Our waitress was rude. She charged me extra for cilantro, which is fine. I was upset she didn't warn me about the extra charge beforehand. I had let her know that she should let customers know when you're charging extra and she got extremely defensive. she said "No i don't need to let anyone know, people just know that anything extra will be an extra charge" like excuse me?! why so defensive? and then she immediately let me know she was the manager as well, without me even asking. My wife and I went to Del Mar Grill & Cantina in Yucaipa and were very impressed with something we hadn't experienced in our previous visits. Upon entering, we were greeted by the host, Nick, who kindly asked for a quick minute to prepare our table. Within two minutes, he returned and let us know it was ready. To our surprise, when we got to our table, the silverware, menus, and even chips and salsa were already waiting for us! It's the small touches like that that really stand out. Usually, we're seated first and then brought chips afterward, but Nick went the extra mile to have everything set up ahead of time so we could sit, relax, and start enjoying ourselves right away. Great job, Nick! As for the food -- amazing as always. My wife ordered the Birria Ramen with a Michelada, and I had the chicken burrito. Both dishes were packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. For this Friday date I was expecting a little hole in the wall but was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant's decor. I literally couldn't stop visually exploring this place. I liked the dia de los muertos art throughout. With both a brunch and happy hour menu, this place was promising. We tried the surf and turf nachos, but the turf was very chewy. I didn't care for the chipotle crema but my husband enjoyed this. The biggest disappointment was that taco salad. I've never had such flavorless ground beef in my life. Yes, I know it's not authentic Mexican food, but don't put bad tasting food on the menu. Any seasoning would have been appreciated, even one of those Old El Paso seasoning packets. Service was a bit slow, but she was the only one working plus had to bartend. She did what she could. We may return, but hard to say when there's so much competition with Mexican food. read more
