I'm so glad that a good friend of mine told me about Josh's deli. The first time I went to this place was for Sunday brunch a few months ago and we think about the pancakes ever since. The place is fairly small but there is seating at the bar to watch Josh do his thing and there's a couple of tables inside and a few tables outside. We usually like to sit inside because we are in the hotter months of Florida and it's pretty unbearable outside right now. We decided to get coffee and milk to start while we looked over the menu. We went with the breakfast plate and the blueberry and banana pancakes to share. I love looking at all the artwork on the walls and just taking in the different locals that are surrounding us. Before we know it the food has arrived and it's super hot and fresh. The breakfast plate has everything you could want such as a latke, a salad, eggs and toast. The scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly and the latke was crunchy and delicious. It comes with some mango marmalade which was decadent & not super sweet. The star of the show is really the pancakes TBH. Super fluffy and folded over into a glorious stack that you could eat forever. Been meaning to come to Josh's for a while and today it finally panned out! It's a small spot, but tables turn over pretty quickly. Lezely (the server) was the only one on the floor, but she was a total badass. Super kind, attentive and speedy. I was between two dishes and she gave me such a thoughtful recommendation that I didn't regret. I ended up going with the French onion omelette, which comes topped with a house salad and super cheesy bagel. My mans went with the corned beef hash (HUGE portion, so he left some behind) and we split the challah bread French toast, which is probably the signature dish here because it legit looked like every table had it. For the portion sizes, the prices are reasonable. Only thing is that towards the end of my meal, I did get a little hot, but that's South Florida for you! Awesome hole in the wall breakfast/lunch spot! I sat at the bar and met Josh and his staff who were super friendly. I ordered the Latkes Barvas and the French Onion Omelette which were both incredibly flavorful and delicious! I loved the truffle spread on the cheesy bagel; the bagels are just like NY bagels! So happy we stumbled on this little gem that makes food in a big way! The spud chef is passionate we sat at the bar and could tell he really cared about every piece of food. I'm giving 2 stars because of the corned beef or pastrami taste, but this is a really over rated and expensive place. Everything is very dirty I was there early morning for breakfast and the floor has pieces of food, the cushions are disgusting and AC fans also dirty, French toast and pancakes are plain and expensive. Sandwiches are good but this extra reduced coleslaw side is disappointing for a 20 bucks sandwich. Service is like many places, take orders and wait for the tips not cozy at all. Fabulous deli! What great food. The kreplach are wonderful. The Reuben sandwich was tender and moist.

Hole in the wall on the beach but decent food. My only gripe was service was incredibly slow. There was only one girl working the front but still it wasn't full. I had the latkes and the pancakes. Both were pretty satisfying. If I'm hungry and In the area, I would definitely give it another try. The corned beef and mazz ball soup didn't meet my expectation. They can't compare to Murray's Deli in Bala Cynwyd (outside of Philadelphia). Katz's on Lower East Side is hereby relegated to second place. The best way to order it is on rye, just bread. In case you haven't eaten a pastrami sandwich before, you eat it, maybe with mustard, then nibble on the slaw. Don't touch the pickle, obviously. Bagels and lox are also first-rate. We ordered the French toast w/ bananas, the Surfside breakfast, an everything bagel w/ cc, coffee, and mimosa. I'm a fan of the coffee, it's a medium roast, and I know I'll be back just for a caffeine fix. They know how to put a mimosa, it's bubbly with just a hint of oj. The French toast has a crispy outside and heavenly soft inside. It tasted amazing, albeit a little dry. But that is quickly fixed by adding syrup or butter. I will gladly take a pound of their home fries found in the Surfside breakfast. Like the French toast, it's crispy outside, but soft inside. The Turkey sausage we got with the order was one of the better Turkey sausages I've had. The peach preserve that comes with the toast is not very sweet, which is how I like it. And the scrambled eggs! Oh they took it off the heat at the perfect time. The bagel is decent. It passes the seasoning on both sides test. Even though it might not be the best bagel in town, I'll take this bagel rather than stand in line for a marginally better one. I was looking at some of the other reviews and I was surprised that people were having issues with the staff. Outstanding food. My family came in on Sunday for breakfast as most places nearby were closed. Josh's was clean and cozy, has outdoor seating. Dad had the French Toast and it was enormous, fresh and delicious. All the bread was made in house including the French toast. The classic surf side breakfast was excellent. I had my eggs over easy. It's not too easy to do perfectly, but mine were great. Seasoned well, the bacon was crispy and thick, and the rye was fresh and some of the best I've ever had. Highly recommended 5/5. read more
