Slightly less variety of products due to smaller space? Sure. But still more than enough. Parking is on the first floor and is generally smooth traffic flow unlike some other Publix parking lots. There are elevators, escalators, and stairs up to the store, but 50-50 chance one of the escalators is out of service. There is no way to cut through from the parking to the stairs without walking around the outside of the building and through a crowded bus stop, so the stairs are more convenient for pedestrians. The stairs entrance leads to a small terrace with cafe tables overlooking downtown Surfside. If you're visiting the beach and don't want to invest a small fortune in lunch, grab a chicken tender Pub Sub from the deli, good as always. Skip the seafood department. Not unique to this location. Seafood from Publix just isn't the quality it used to be... and there are so many places in South Florida to buy fresh local catch. Staff in the store, including the pharmacy, are generally helpful and friendly. And everything's usually clean and bright. All in all, reliable place to find what you need.

Publix is great if you do it right. While on a trip I had the fortune of this market being…read moreconveniently located within one street block of my hotel. It easily became a relatively frequent spot for me to pick up essentials. It is in a residential area, so it was never very busy. However, given that this market is kind of huge and it was off-season" in Miami, that may have been the cause. They have a huge free parking lot. Once inside they have a market as well as a liquor store. The market was tremendous with everything you need from grocery to produce, and a deli to frozen foods. And the market was very clean and tidy. My one qualm is that the prices are generally expensive. However, some deals can be found. I discovered that you can grab some to-go foods near their hot buffet section. So, if you need a quick bite on the cheap, that's the best place to look. Overall, Publix was good and convenient, I would likely look elsewhere if I wanted more affordable options.

Agreed...agreed...agreed! I've lived in Bay Harbor Islands for many years now, and have longed for…read morethe day when this area could actually attract businesses that reflect the current demographic, rather than an outmoded ideal that started disappearing 10 years ago. This town is so much more diverse than retirees. Our ethnicity is so much more varied than Jewish. And, yes, some of us work, so we'd like to have early morning, inexpensive, breakfast and a local late-night entertainment spot. (I really miss the movie theater that used to be on Kane Concourse!) Bay Harbor Islands dies a little bit more with each successive Town Council election. It's sad...so sad. Meanwhile, Bay Harbor Fine Foods Market *was* a great place to get hard to find items...but never took into account that, in this economic environment, not everyone wants to spend ALL of their money on imported dried tomatoes. More variety would have saved this store. But hopefully, people will continue to wear blinders in this neighborhood as our uniqueness continues to be sold away to the likes of Home Depot and Publix.

Kind of sad they closed the original. I will go back, and try the food and update my review.

Saturday afternoon. Not too busy. Parking garage in the back on Polk Street is free, second floor…read more Upfront of store you must pay 7 days a week. I tried to purchase a product that was not available at this store. I went to customer service the girl did not know how to check if other Publix in the city carry product. She at least got the grocery manager. He did not know how to check other stores. Said he can request the product and can call me when they get the product. That was waste of my time. How are employees not trained to use an application to cross reference other stores to help locate a product if it is available. Now I have to manually drive to each Publix to see for myself. This is how companies lose business to their competitors. There has to be some training done by district managers to lower management and to front store staff as well. I'm very disappointed

There are bits and pieces of pistachios all throughout the tub.....so decadent.... The best time to stock up is when they go on sale and/or BOGO. Keep an eye open for the deals and grab them when you can. Easy shopping experience at this store. All aisles were clearly marked.
