I think it's one of the nicer markets for South Florida but the price is absurd. 400$ the other day for a day worth of groceries. Simple things like goat cheese and a raw onion. Their prepared foods are extremely over priced 20$-30$ for what? Angel hair and tomato? The price hike is astronomical. I can afford most things but I honestly can't quite wrap my head around 100$ two boneless ribeyes. 60 yes - 70 yes , 100$! This town is so much more diverse than retirees. Our ethnicity is so much more varied than Jewish. And, yes, some of us work, so we'd like to have early morning, inexpensive, breakfast and a local late-night entertainment spot. (I really miss the movie theater that used to be on Kane Concourse!) Bay Harbor Islands dies a little bit more with each successive Town Council election. It's sad...so sad. Meanwhile, Bay Harbor Fine Foods Market *was* a great place to get hard to find items...but never took into account that, in this economic environment, not everyone wants to spend ALL of their money on imported dried tomatoes. More variety would have saved this store. But hopefully, people will continue to wear blinders in this neighborhood as our uniqueness continues to be sold away to the likes of Home Depot and Publix.

Once you are in the store, it seems to be a fairly standard Publix. We basically shopped here for breakfast items to cover us for 3 days. They seemed well-stocked with most standard grocery items. The pharmacy is at street level and separate from the rest of the store. I only know this as I saw it on my way in. If you are staying in a hotel in this area, it is a good place to shop.

The staff here is very friendly and very helpful and answer a lot of questions that I particularly had on this very first visit I ended up ordering a potato bourekas and took it back to our condo and I was thoroughly surprised that it was still warm realizing that the case and tray that it was displayed at in the market was also warm. And added bonus is that it was kosher as is everything else in this market. I would definitely come back, especially on a Friday because I was here on a Wednesday and disappointingly enough matzo ball soup is only made on Fridays.

I wanted a bunch of their beautiful Lillie's to cheer myself up after my fall and inability to move about freely. I called Trader Joe's on March 20, asking Fred from Customer Service if a bunch of Lillie's could be delivered. I told him why I can't come into the store. They do not deliver. Fred took it upon himself, on his own time, to come to my home and deliver 2 bunches of Lillie's with a thoughtful and lovely get well card. I was truly touched. He went above and beyond. His kindness made my day. What a wonderful store, what a wonderful person!
