The salon is pretty big, with a lot of stylists. Felipe cut and styled my hair and gave me exactly what I wanted. I want to keep growing out my hair but needed a good trim and he did a great job with blending the layers and taking a lot of the weight off my super thick hair. He was really friendly, and offers free styling for his time customers, so my hair cut was just $35. Overall it was a great experience, I highly recommend Felipe and I will be back! read more

I made the crazy decision to cut off all my hair (it went down to the middle of my back). And anyone should know that a short hairstyle can be really bad if the cut isn't right. Luckily, Felipe knew exactly what to do with my fine hair to give it a fuller appearance against my face structure. He made sure that it looked just right and paid attention to the finest detail. I did read a Bad review that he keeps his clients waiting but since I was his first appointment I figured I was safe. WRONG. Two people had come in behind me and were taken back by their stylists with still no sign of Marco! I was out of there! Why he thinks his time is more valuable than his clients is a mystery! While this review is long overdue, I have so many good things to say... Moving to OC I looked to Yelp to find a new salon, and ended up at Joshua Christopher and an appointment with Marco for my boyfriend's cut. Tagging along on his appointment, I noticed how much attention to detail he had, and my bf's hair came out great. When it was time to color my hair a few months later, I came back to Marco, and I'm so happy I did. We decided on a new color together and he had the same attention to detail with me, which was really appreciated. Plus, my color looked great for 4+ months! One of the things I enjoy most is that even though It had been about 6 months between my first and second appointment, he remember our prior conversations and it was nice to chat with him during my appointment. After my stylist of five years became just too far of a drive I had to find a new one. My last stylist was amazing. Brissa is an upgrade nonetheless. After I was over my Justin Timberlake hairdo which Brissa easily did. I brought in a picture of Brad Pitt with his hairdo from Fury. Needless to say my hair looked just like Brad's after Brissa finished. I can only speak from a guy's perspective but I'm pretty positive that her talent for women's hair is just as good. Lisa Ramirez has been my ongoing hair stylist since 2010 and I have had nothing but praise for how she has taken care of me. Marco! I love him! I keep coming back because he is amazing with hair!! I've gotten a Brazilian blowout with him and multiple dye jobs. I had a terrible red hair job from another salon and he was able to cover it and make it look awesome. Furthermore, later when I wanted a balayage he was able to take out the brown, red, and leave me with blonde tips that looked perfect and weren't orangey from the red I had in previously. He is so awesome I already brought him my best friend (who went bleach blonde all the way from black!) and my mom. He also specializes and loves curly hair! Went to brissa for a curly hair cut for some volume and shape and was not good. She charged me 70 dollars for a cut alone and left me with real harsh layers where i almost considered cutting my hair off after that. It looked like a sharp bob wwith some long hair underneath it and that was the first thing family members pointed out when coming home from salon. Just had another fantastic cut, color AND keratin treatment with Kristen Macchio Winn! This was my first time trying the keratin/brazilian blowout treatment. I was so excited to try it, and it definitely lived up to the hype. Kristen added golden highlights to my light brown hair, then added the keratin spray and sealed it in with a flat iron. Super shiny, gorgeous, and sleek hair! The key is to not wash your hair for 4 days to let the treatment seal around your hair and work its magic :) Literally life changing. Upon washing my hair 4 days later, I was amazed to find that my normally frizzy and wavy hair dried straight and beautiful! I had my doubts that it would my drying time (normally 45 minutes) in half...but it worked! No wrestling with a round brush and blow dryer trying to tame my unruly hair, my hair dried quickly and fell perfectly into place. The best part was that my hair looks totally conditioned and healthy, no frizz whatsoever (your hair cuticle has been sealed by the keratin). Even when I sleep on my hair it's suddenly more manageable in the morning, requiring very few touch ups with a flat iron or curling iron. I now wake up with perfect hair! SO AWESOME and SO WORTH IT for the keratin treatment. Kristen has been my stylist for a few years now, kicking myself that I didn't try this sooner! read more

Ugh, I should have made the drive to my stylist instead of sticking to somewhere closer.. I made an appt on sat afternoon because I had to take care of my split ends. When I walked in there were sooo many people. At first I thought it was a school. I had Felipe. He seems nice. He led me to wash my hair right away without talking about my hair and how I styled it.. He had conditioned my hair and put me under a dryer since he booked another woman to do her roots at the same time as me. I was under there for about 15 min and it got hot but I didn't mind. This place was a mess. So unorganized. People were jumping from chair to chair. Someone was in Felipe chair so they had to get out so I can get my cut. Another customer forgot his book. It was just odd and a different experience from what I was used to. But I guess that is how they roll. Felipe didn't really talk much about my hair. I said I wanted a trim and I mentioned how my stylist always edge out my layers to make them more defined. Bangs are always side swept. He didn't talk much which I didn't mind at all. He took off a little more than I wanted. Then he says that he will give me a blowdry for free because usually you will have to pay for it which is $30. Wow, I didn't know they were willing to let me walk out of the salon with wet hair. How am I suppose to know I like my hair when it's wet??? Oh thank you so much for the service that should already be a given! $65 for a haircut well noted. Should have mentioned it to me before I even sat in the chair. So he dries my hair with a big round brush that had a crap load of hair on it already. He kept on scratching my forehead with the brush as he was doing my bangs. When he was finished I was pissed. My layers are not edgy. There are more layers on the right side of my head than the left... He tries to edge them but I didn't think he knew what he was doing. The back of my hair doesn't look smooth at all. The tips are all choppy and straight. I didn't want to be there anymore, nor have him fix it. He didn't take his time to talk about my hair. The salon has a great layout, its spacious and bright with modern design and upbeat workers. Martin was welcoming and friendly and listened, then created, the hairstyle I described. I highly recommend anyone looking for the perfect haircut to go to Martin. He has been there for many years and trained with the salon owner. He is also a perfectionist, so he will not let you get up from the chair until he is satisfied with how every strand looks. I have been coming to this salon for about a year now. First of all, let me say that as a black female in Orange County, it is very difficult to find and TRUST someone to take care of my hair and who knows what they are doing-especially when it comes to hair type and chemicals. I am currently relaxed and have short previously pixie cut hair that is growing out. I first met Toni Belle after I literally DESTROYED my hair by trying to relax it myself (I am very impulsive when it comes to hair...). I mean, I really effed it up and chunks of hair were falling out when I rinsed the relaxer out. I thought I was going to be bald!!! Frikin MORTIFIED. So, a few days later, I scheduled an appointment with Toni for the first time. She got me in quickly! I came to her with tears in my eyes over my hair devastation and she was so nice about it (I was expecting to be fussed at lol) and she literally SAVED my hair! Since then, she has taken such great care of it! It is growing out healthy and lovely. Toni is so awesome- she is sweet, caring, GORGEOUS, and makes me feel like family. Love her. Also, can't forget to review the actual salon itself. This salon is so clean, big, and professional. All the staff here are VERY nice, check you in quick, and even offer to get you any refreshments upon arrival. I know it sounds cheesy- but when you come here, you feel like a star. I am trying to grow my hair out and had a stylist cut my hair too short 3 times before finally giving up. I was looking to become a new client of someone if they would only have listened to me. I do not grow hair long easily, but it is possible and I know from experience alls it takes is a smidge off of the ends to get it to the length that I want. She did not listen and took it all the way up to what she preferred. I will not be going back again. came here because of all the good reviews had deep conditioning for my hair $15 the stylist recommended to me was Filipo (since i've never been here didn't know who to ask for) took about 40 min. and my hair came out really nice and soft the conditioning was $10 and up and they charged $5 extra blow drying my hair .. i thought that was a bit bizarre coz he conditioned my hair and just said "ok you done" when my hair was all wet .. i was like .. well i can't go out w/ wet hair .. he's like well it's another price for drying . another price for conditioning .. and i said yea yea i know but i need to walk out w/ dry hair .. so hence the price was $15 - which wasn't bad .. only thing that bugged me was the stylist was a bit too rough while he was drying and brushing my hair .. kept scraping me neck and forehead with the ceramic large round brush .. and it really hurts but seeing that my hair came out so nice - i still tipped him generously and it's been 4 days since and it's still so soft and velvety .. oh and the products they use are very good - i would definitely come back for hair treatment at least once or twice a month read more
