I have finally found the best nail salon in Glenview! It is very conveniently located next to the Jewel on Waukegan, very easy to access and tons of parking! I made my appointment for a Tuesday morning and I always recommend setting appointments on weekdays during the day as to avoid any rush there might be on the weekend. This also allows the technicians to take their time and make sure everything is absolutely perfect. My no-chip mani/pedi was just that! Absolute perfection! Not only did Joe my nail technician spend quite a while removing the builder gel I had on, but made sure not to hurt/damage my natural nails underneath! He was very sweet and made me feel very relaxed. Joann my technician for my pedicure was just as sweet and made sure the shape of my nail was just to my liking. Everything went 100% perfect and after everything was done, they made sure to ask if I enjoyed the service. I loved the fact that they had a sign displayed that said "If anything is not to your liking please let us know and we'll make it right". I believe this salon takes great pride in their work and always puts the customer first. I adore this place! It saddens me when I walk in and it's mostly empty because I feel they deserve great business for their great service. I usually go here for my eyebrows and they make them exactly the way I like them, I never need to repeat myself or feel like they are taking too much hair off, especially since I like my eyebrows thin. My one and only drawback is the price for eyebrows being 10$, but it is well worth the money so I can't complain too much. I've also received a Mani/Pedi from there and was completely pleased with the outcome. I didn't expect much because usually I am disappointed with Manicures, I always end up looking closely and finding atleast some imperfection but I have to say there were none! They had about 50+ gel / shellac / no-chip colors to choose from. All of their polishes seemed new plus they carried multiple brands. Outside of the shellac, they had every Essie or OPI polish that you would ever want. They had tons of regulars coming through and the staff never rushed me because they seemed to really care that I liked their work. $60 for gel mani and pedicure. I had a great experience at Josie's. My pedicure was soooo nice. They spent so much time rubbing down my legs and massaging my feet. It really was one of the best pedicure experiences I've had. Overall I felt the salon was not friendly and welcoming to new customers. What made the difference was once a salon polish was selected and charged at a premium, after four appointments the owner suddenly decides to charge more for what appeared to be polish not used very often. I mean who does that? If you are trying to keep customers, if that is why you are in business, why raise the price after 4 visits? I am giving the salon one more star for the technician who seemed to be doing the best job she could under these circumstances. read more

So much for this nail place we originally thought was decent. I made an appointment for my two daughters to get manicures. We were on a tight time frame so I called to confirm. I then confirmed a third time in person with them when I was here in person this morning. My daughters just arrived for their manicures and the owners are arguing with me that they didn't know I had two appointments- despite my two phone calls and confirmation in person. I asked to have someone else help out and I was flatly told no. I then said that as a customer, they should care about our satisfaction and then delivering on their appointments and promised. It was my first time here today. After reading all positive reviews on Google I wanted to give it a try. Scheduled an appointment in three days ahead. I came for regular mani and pedi. Well, what can I say: it was very painful. My technician named Connie was very harsh. Maybe she was in a rush for the next costumers. But she was scraping and pushing my cuticles with unnecessary force. I chose red polish for my nails. I have to say that I came home and started to clean my fingers and toes from smudges of red polish. So let's give my impression of this overrated salon. Painful, messy, rushing. I guess I wasn't treated right because I was not a regular. Oh, I forgot to mention that my technician became considerably warmer and nicer when I gave her 10 dollars tip for 43 dollars service. Probably should have paid the tip before she started to work on me. And as I write my review my right thumb is throbbing with pain. I will put antibiotic ointment before be to avoid getting it infected. So I won't come back and wouldn't recommend getting the manicure and pedicure there to anybody. And one more complaint why no website with description of services and prices? Almost every salon have a website this days. Very unprofessional. After I posted review Josie, the owner, contacted me by phone. She apologized for my bad experience and promised to send me a refund for the services. One week already passed no check. If I thought that my bad experience was one time unlucky visit, now I am 100 % sure that it was correct. Not only technician was unprofessional but the owner as well. I didn't ask her to call me and promise to reimburse me for services. But if you did reached to me first, then you have to keep your promise. That would at least could make it up for horrible experience I had at her salon. So once again do yourself a favor don't go to this salon. Wanted to make sure Josie read my response to her answer on my second review on Yelp. Josie that was never my intention to get your services for free. I said that I will remove the review from Yelp because I didn't wanted to damage your business reputation. But you went as far as accusing me that I just wanted to get my refund? Please stop this! I am not that cheap. I didn't even expect you to call me back and promise me a refund. I just simply told the truth about my experience at your salon. I am not that cheap as you are trying to insinuate in your Google response to my review. But you made me feel horrible and made a liar out of me? I won't come to your salon even if it will be the last place on Earth for manicure and pedicure. I don't need your refund. But I do know now how are you handling your unsatisfied costumers. I am very picky about nail salons and I really enjoyed my visits to Josie's! The employees were very kind and friendly and remembered my name. The physical salon is nice and has two tvs with entertaining programming playing. I got a very nice and high quality dip manicure. A couple days later, due to a freak accident, one of my nails chipped and Josie's very graciously fixed it for me for free! Josie's is FABULOUS. This nail salon is AWESOME. It's clean, it's friendly, the manicurists all do a great job and it's reasonably priced. I've been going since it opened and I have never been disappointed. There are always mix of customers including older and younger, men, women, teenagers, and the occasional younger girl getting manis/pedis, etc. They have all of the nail techniques from regular polish to gel to the dipping powder. One word...Linn!!!! This place is great, clean, and friendly people. The owner Josie is super personable and very sweet. My review though is about Linn. What an AMAZING person and an even better nail technician. I've been going to her (and only her) for years, and she most recently relocated to this salon. After my initial panic that she wasn't as close by, I came to the conclusion that I would travel as far as I had to for her to do my nails. As someone who has been getting her nails done weekly for 15 years, I am BEYOND picky. I've tried other people and other places when she's been on vacation, etc and NO ONE even comes close. Checked in and redeemed their promotional offer of $28 for mani-pedis for first time clients and was told they don't accept the code even though it's clearly on Yelp and I showed the owner the check-in on my cell. He was incredibly rude about it. Their regular price ($35) isn't much more by any means, but I was put off by his poor attitude. Went in for the first time on my lunch break today. Not only were they timely, but they did an excellent job! I can't remember being this happy with a manicure in the past. I went over to Panera after for lunch and chipped one while paying, so I went back over and they fixed the nail with no problem. This place is fine if you only have Paige or Lynn do your nails. Josie does a nice job too but never has availability and it's near impossible to get in with Paige or Lynn as it is. Do not let anyone else touch your nails especially not the guy nail tech or some of the new younger girls. I made that mistake more than once (trying to give extra chances) and not only did I leave with cut up fingers but the polish was a mess. I feel like they got busy so they just hired anyone to fill chairs. What is even worse is that the owner will be upset with you if you even make the slightest comment or complaint about obvious mistakes. I stopped coming in because of how uncomfortable she made me feel after her employees messed up big time. It's too bad because I used to like going there. The salon is clean, they play great music and the massage chairs are amazing too.
