The regular pedi included a lengthy calf and foot massage with oil, followed by a hot towel wrap and a hot wax treatment on the heels. The mani included a great hand as well as shoulder massage. Do NOT come here for any services, especially a dip manicure. One week ago I got a dip manicure at MB Spa Nails. When filing it down, my cuticles were rubbed so raw they developed scabs over the next few days. Two of my nails came completely off within 4 days, and the rest are lifting at the base of the nail, so my hair continually gets caught in them ripping them off even more. I do not live nearby, so I was unable to go in to request a refund until today, one week after I got the manicure. When I went in to request a refund, they refused, saying that they cannot give me my money back but would give me a gift card to their salon for a PARTIAL refund. I paid $50 + tip for dip removal and manicure, but received a $30 gift card to a place I have no interest in returning to. I was told that some dip powder is faulty, which is why all of my manicure was lifting/falling off of my nails, but I have never had this issue at any other salon and get dip manicures 1-2 times/month. I do not recommend MB Spa Nails. I cannot speak to their other services, but would avoid thanks to their horrific customer service. read more

If you want to have the worst nails on earth, come to this nail salon. I have never had an experience like this in my life. To start off she cut my fingers about 100 times. I asked for a simple dip manicure. She does the dip nails and they are so bumpy and ugly and disgusting and I say can you file this down. She proceeds to get out a nail file machine and it's broken so she decides to put gel on top of my dip. she adds six layers of nail polish on top of the bumpy dip nails. they look horrendous and I am so upset about this. Came in for a pedicure in the middle of winter while visiting family. The service here is above and beyond. My technician was extremely attentive to making sure my tired rough feet are now soft and smooth. She made sure to put my feet in disposable flip flops to dry before hand and the paint job is flawless. Not sure why so many bad reviews, but clearly they've either upped their game. Very impressed! They lie to you regarding the price, they tell you you don't need an appointment and leave you waiting for 45 minutes while they begin you and follow up with an appointment. I typically don't spend the time to give negative reviews, but after my experience I thought I would take the time. I have been going there for a few years and have never felt very welcome there. I would call for an appointment every time. It didn't matter. I always spent time waiting at least 15 minutes. They always overbook. I stopped going there because the last time I was there I had to wait 45 minutes. I asked for a shortened version of the pedicure. The owner did not apologize and gave me a discount because I did not get the full service. I no longer go there and found a place that is so much better. Hard to recommend this place. read more

I hate writing negative reviews and giving any kind of bad reviews because I usually resolve the problem with the owners and management. But this nail salon perhaps might be the worst one that I have visited all of north suburbs. All of the technicians are rude and it is very obvious that they have favorite customers while new customers often get neglected. I visited there and got a very quick pedicure. I tried to tell her to slow down but she did not! As a result my bottom of the feet was not smooth. I tried to be reasonable and say maybe that the salon was busy but that was not the case. The talent of the manicurists is average but fine for the price in comparable salons in the area. My complaint is management. First, there is no one other than a manicurist to answer the phone so when it rings a manicurist jumps up while serving a client and runs to answer the phone. Pay a teenager $8 an hour to sit up front answer phone and welcome clients! Second, reserved times mean nothing. If you arrive 5 minutes before your reservation you will still wait at least 20 minutes, no faster than a walk in, so why bother. Third, the manager assumes it will take another 10 minutes to pick color, so you end up sitting in the salon chair for 5 more minutes. Rather pay an extra $5. read more

Always a great experience. I have no idea what these other, negative comments are all about. Maybe the gel nail process, which I've never had done, is a choice everyone should re-think. I usually get a pedicure and my eyebrows done. It's always flawless. They take me at my appointment time. They let me know if I call and try to do a last minute appointment. I stopped in for a no-chip. Maybe I had a newer/inexperienced person, but she took a REALLY long time to complete the manicure. And when I went home, I noticed a lot of top coat had dried onto my cuticles (so maybe not as crisp of a polish job as I would have liked). I also like when they make sure to get the tips of the nails, and she didn't do that. I'd try this place again, but hopefully with a more experienced tech I'll have a better experience. My mom has lived directly across the street in Princeton Village for 30 years and I've been treating her to mani/pedis as she's not well with Dimentia etc. - it's easy right across the street. My first time at this establishment. I wanted a full set for a party on Sunday and it was saturday. I was told gel only which was fine i usually get gel. I was offered a drink then walked to the booth and was seated. very fancy. The tech was very slow and did 3 nails on one hand and put me in the light then did 2 nails and had me switch and so on. The filing was very soft no pressure which left my nails lumpy. I wanted french manicure but she had an unsteady hand so I opted for a color. Edges not done. Nail didnt last!!!! My thumb nail broke taking my lipstick cap off. then Monday i turn the key in the ignition and crack. Then i take my earring off and crack goes the index finger nail. Not strenuous tasks. Awful experience. I called in advance to make an appt for a dip manicure. I asked and confirmed 4 times if they do dip because the woman didnt seem to know at first. I had a bad feeling going in and I should have trusted my gut. When I got to the salon I let them know i have an appt for dip nails, they had me pick out the color and started taking my no chip off. About 20 minutes into my appt the technition started getting chatty about no chip manicures. She started with "are you getting a no chip today. " I felt uneasy instantly. She asked me to pick the dip and it was right there on the counter, whybeould she ask that. "No, I'm doing a dip" I answered. "Oh ok well do you know that a no chip is much better for you and lasts longer " I just said ok and tried to watch the tv show on the tv. A couple minutes later she said "so no chip then" I replied with " no I would still like the dip please. " that's when it all came full circle and I realized what was going on the technition said "ok fine" and we sat in silence for a minute. Then she said "sorry we dont have the polish for the dip we will do no chip" and she said this smiling and laughing. I got very frustrated and explained I want a dip and made an appt for a dip. I also didn't appreciate the technition to deceitfully try to change my mind and manipulate me into getting a no chip when she knew that the dip could not be done . The laughter was an add on that I did not appreciate either. I let them know I only wanted a dip and would go somewhere else. I left a tip for the technition and began to walk out. As I was leaving she stopped me and said never mind we can do the dip I found the polish . Again I asked 4 times if she could really do it. Only to save time i stayed. If I went to a different salon without an appointment on a Saturday I would have to wait a long time. So I stayed and an hour later my nails looked worse then they did when i came in. Im so upset I didnt take a picture. There were scratches ,huge bumps that lifted everywhere and on some nails then dip didnt stick so there was no dip on it at all. the technition just laughed and said "sorry can you come back another day and I'll fix it or i can take it off and give you no.chip" some people can over react at times and that's probably what the customer next to me thought as she watched me get more upset with the situation staring at my nails that a 2 yr old could have done better. I turned around and showed her my nails and asked if she thought they looked good. She was a regular and wanted to say yes until she looked down and saw what was done to me. She shook her head and said this is unacceptable I wouldnt pay for that. I ended up staying at the salon for 2 and a half hours when I should have only been there for 1 . They did give me a complimentary no chip but it is a service I did not want and my whole day was out of whack . I couldnt get the rest of my chores done on time because I spent so much time there. The staff dont seem to care they just laugh at you and will do anything to get you to come in or stay even if they know they cannot provide the service you need. I religiously go to a nail salon every two weeks, and have been for the past 10 years. I usually get acrylic nail services and pedicures. This salon doesn't offer acrylic just yet since they are new, but I did get a pedicure done. This pedicure was one for the books! I was warmly greeted as I walked in, they offered free drinks and snacks. They have great polish brands and colors as well as offer new seasonal color collections. Monica did a great job throughout my pedicure. The scrub they use here is more oil based than the usual coarse sugar scrubs everywhere else that leave my skin feeling dry and scratchy. The separate oil massage I received and brand new cushy massage chairs were so relaxing as well. She took her time when polishing and was very precise. The ambiance of this whole salon was luxurious, clean, and relaxing. I'm a stickler when it comes to music and magazine selection (because no one wants to read April 2015 Vogue magazines) this salon had new magazines and great music I can actually enjoy. All in all, I would gladly make a separate trip just to get pedicures here! read more

I regret having to write a bad review. Megan is a very nice lady. She was not the person who did my nails though. I was the only person in salon for much of the 2 hrs I was there. Yes, 2 hrs for a gel fill. In addition, I did have manicure too, something I didn't ask for. More on that later. I called ahead and asked for a gel fill. I explained that 2 nails broke off and I'd need tips. I went in a few hrs later and Megan helped me to my chair. She explained the girl doing my nails "has 10 yrs experience" The girl did a lot of filing and then asked me to put my hands in water, something I havent ever had done in the 8 years I have had gel fills. I thought maybe doing a little manicure on my nails was something this salon just does in addition to a gel fill. There was never a point where I was asked if I wanted a manicure or that there would be a charge for it. I assumed because Megan knew I asked for a gel fill, that this "treatment" I was getting was part of MB Spa way of doing gel fills. I explained when I arrived, as well as on the phone, that I wanted a gel fill and would need my 2 chipped nails to get tips. From the time the tech started to the time I left was 2 hrs. I dont understand why that takes so long. I have had gel fills for a long time, even with an occasional tip or several and all salons have done it within a 30-40 min time frame. My nails looked nice and I was happy with them. However, when I went to pay I was told it was $51! $51 for a gel fill and 2 tips. I assumed I was paying for the manicure I got, something I never asked for. Today is 5 days after I had my nails done here. 1 tip already broke off and several nails show a lot of wear...again, after 5 days. I've paid 1/3 of that price and had nails last 2-3 weeks. It is more expensive than other nail salons. I got a mani pedi, they do not scrub your bottom feet as well red6nails. The paint job on my fingers isnt smooth either. I can see the different layers since she didnt go over the whole nail. I prob will not return, altho they were very nice. About 4-5 days later, the nail polish starting chipping off. Most of my regular manicures from other places last almost 2 weeks. And the lines against my cuticles are not straight. I definitely will not be returning. read more

I made an appointment for Mani Pedi for a particular time. They took me 20 minutes late. While there was a walk in of a whole family which created the delay without taking into consideration of clients that actually made a set appointment, even more so when they have an employee call in sick. Once in the pedi chair no one asked if the water was okay. It was not the water was lukewarm. No one introduced themselves when they finally did sit down the pedicurist never introduced herself, never lifted her head up to even look at me once until I asked her (Grace, after I had to bend down to see her name tag) "please to slow down your hurting me". It was like she was running a race. I had to ask a second time to slow down due to her hurting. Up to this point Grace never spoke a word to me. Yes, she speaks English! The massage that they normal give to the legs and feet, never happed. Only oil rubbed on my legs. The lack of communication was actually nil. I chose 2 different but similar colors and ask Grace to try the two colors side by side so I can decide. She got up from the chair, the next I knew the owner (I think she is. Again I do not have a name) took over. Even the owner was less than professional. When she finished my nails she never walked me over to have my feet dry under the lights or fan (I've never been to this place prior, so employees should never assume that a client knows where, what, or how their apparatus works. I sat on a bench with no assistance. Now my polish is messed up on my toes (thank goodness I didn't have color put on my hands). So now I have messed up toes polish, the manager didn't seem to care one way or another for good customer service, but she didn't hesitate to take my money (I even tipped after this CRAPPIE SERVICE. Very overpriced and unprofessional salon. I had an appointment and informed the girl I had a flight. She answered phone calls and accommodated other clients during my services. It took her 45 minutes to soak off my dip manicure! There were very few dip colors and I was pressed for time, so I just did no chip. She filed my nails crooked and the tips are turning orange/yellow after the second day! She didn't even file the edges down, and ran over to another customer immediately after I took my hand out of the UV light.
