I have seen specialists in 4 different cities and 2 different countries about it, and none were able to provide the insight, help and long term change Praneeth has. After spending some quality time with Praneeth, I'm not only walking, but starting down the jogging trail for the first time in almost a year. I could not have been happier with the outcome!! I'm in my early thirties and didn't want to trust the longevity of my active life with someone who I didn't feel was dedicated. I got incredibly lucky when finding Praneeth, because he did everything I could have hoped for and more. He listened attentively to my history, and continued to ask questions about different angles, sensations, etc. right through to our last session. He is completely personalized and will go farther than I would have imagined to get you (literally in my case) up and running! Journey was my best PT experience ever and I have lots of PT experience with lower back problems. Praneeth and Phil run a personal and professional outfit that far exceeded the care I've received at other PT facilities in the past. Praneeth and Phil provide detailed professional care. I worked with Praneeth and he was right there directing and monitoring my therapy activities. Unlike other places, at Journey the ratio of therapist to patients is roughly 1:1. As a result of this close care my experience at Journey was superior in several ways. First, Praneeth evaluated my needs and goals in order to get me back on my feet as a father and professional. This helped me stay on track during therapy and helped Praneeth help me meet my goals. It also helped me understand my PT program and clearly see the progress I'd made. The personal attention meant that Praneeth was able to explain, teach, and reinforce rehab techniques essential to my recovery. This point is paramount. In two previous PT experiences elsewhere they failed to explain and monitor how I was doing my exercises. I was more or less doing them wrong for lack of instruction and monitoring. In contrast, Praneeth explained the way my body works and how rehab is meant to heal me. To be specific, in the past I was taught to do low crunches for lumbar support. But Praneeth explained exactly which muscles I needed to engage, how to do so correctly, and why. He also watched me closely as I learned to do these lumbar exercises and he corrected my mistakes. No previous PT had provided this level of care, and so my results with Journey were far superior. I'm profoundly glad that I found Journey (through Yelp, btw) and extremely thankful for the care I received. It seems like Journey is setting a new standard in PT care. This is truly an amazing physical therapy practice, Praneeth is not only a skilled practitioner but also a truly sympathetic and patient-oriented physician. This is my first Yelp review and it's because I was so impressed with his approach to my injury and thoroughness in diagnosing and treating my ailment. Having fully ruptured my achilles in 2013 and enduring follow-up surgery in 2014 for an infection, my ankle was in very bad shape. Two years later (late 2016) the pain and swelling returned and had gotten so bad I could barely walk. My wife convinced me to seek therapy and after researching several places, decided on Journey Physical Therapy due to the excellent reviews from other patients. I'd gone to many different rehab/therapy facilities right after my first operation and while some had "fancier" offices, not one of the therapists I encountered were as knowledgable or asked as many pertinent questions as Praneeth did. Scheduling an appointment was easy, they were helpful with figuring out insurance and I really felt he cared about what was occurring with my ankle and was making the extra effort to see what was going on. He even contacted Rush University Medical where I had my surgeries to get background information and ensure there was no chance of another reinfection or other unexpected issues. Within two weeks of his treatments on my ankle and following his advice on stretching I saw TREMENDOUS progress and the incessant pain was soon completely gone. After two months of therapy I'm fully healed and couldn't be happier with my choice. I can only say that anyone who has undergone surgeries or who has had to endure chronic pain understands how important it is to find a caregiver who is knowledgeable, competent and most of all compassionate. Praneeth is an awesome doctor and human, and if your body is busted, you should go see him. Right meow. I ended up with severe pain starting in my hip during my first pregnancy. I did nothing about it and assumed it would resolve itself after I gave birth. Famous last words. It got worse. I had been an avid muay thai athlete, runner, and weight lifter. My hip left me barely able to walk -- no exaggeration. Getting out of a car was a five minute process. Limping around with newborn was probably funny to watch. And, I was totally unable to sleep at night because lying on either side resulted in the 7th ring of hell erupting in my hip socket. Enter Praneeth. Through regular sessions of manual therapy, exercises to stretch and strengthen, he helped me return to my former self within a few months (kicking, punching, lifting -- running came last, but it did). He helped me manage the pain to a level where I could continue to participate in my sports of choice. When the pain returned with my second pregnancy, I was back at his doorstep and he got me back on my feet again. Even now, when I feel shadows of old injuries flaring up, I still use the exercises he taught me to therapeutic effect. Bonus: he's also just fun to be around, and has a great family. Praneeth and Phil are the best physical therapists in Chicago. Welcoming, smart, funny, empathetic, knowledgeable, etc - these guys know their stuff and make sure you're well taken care of. I recommend them to all my friends or coworkers that live in the city. Prior to treatment, my sciatica had gotten so bad that I could hardly fall or stay asleep. I was treated by Praneeth for ~8 weeks through therapeutic massage and a series of stretches/ exercises he taught me in the office. With the stretches/exercises, I was successfully able to manage any additional stress on the nerve and get back to running/regular exercise. Even though i have completed treatment, Praneeth still kept in touch to make sure I am staying healthy and even sent me some helpful articles. I came to journey physical therapy after Tendinopathy surgery. The goal was to recover and regain full strength and mobility in my knee. 23, M. I got a sports injury to my ankle and after 6 weeks of stiffness and limited function, I went to the doctor. The ankle doctor recommended going to see Phil at Journey. Phil is an excellent therapist, providing a level of attention and care that makes the patient feel at ease in a pretty vulnerable situation. Phil works with the patient to improve comfort, function, and mobility on the day-to-day, and manages to do it while cracking jokes. After 6 weeks, I could run again and play sports. I actually went to see him again after chronic neck pain and swelling stopped me from rock climbing. Another 6 weeks, and my upper body is in great shape and I can climb any time I want! Phil is one of the best physical therapist I've experienced. I was in a car accident in 2011 and had quite a few different physical therapists. But none were able to relieve as much of the distress as Phil and in a short time period. Phil listened to my physical complaints and clearly explained to me what was going wrong with my muscles and spine. He utilized diagrams, videos with an IPAD, and physical models to help me fully understand my condition and what joints he would be working on to relieve my pain. I originally saw Phil before he started Journey Physical Therapy and I chose to follow him to complete my care because I have been completely satisfied. I would give 10 stars if that was an option. I have had left knee pain for over 3 years. It comes and goes. When it comes, I can barely walk. I had seen an ortho specialist several times, but the pain still came back. I was not able to go up and down stairs and started limping. I absolutely LOVE going to Journey. I'm a dancer, and I injured my leg a few years ago but never received proper treatment. It never healed completely but gradually got better on its own- then earlier this year, I injured it again the exact same way. I began my treatment with Praneeth about three months ago after I suffered a tear in the medial meniscus in my knee. Praneeth was professional, and, most importantly, very knowledgeable. He provided a detailed breakdown of the mechanics of the knee and why the tear caused such discomfort. Praneeth is a total professional and miracle worker. I had brutally sharp pain in my shoulder and went to another national branded PT firm only to have the pain persist. Headed to another sports medicine practitioner who hooked me up with Praneeth. In 5 sessions I went from being in constant discomfort and being unable to be physically active with my arm to being 90% and back into the gym.
