After my hairdresser of 5 years moved to Hawaii, I had to find someone new, which is always anxiety-provoking. I put it off until I had to go out of town for an emergency, which meant I needed to find someone in two days, so I was even more anxious. Going off of online reviews, I decided to give Jovie a try & it was absolutely worth it. Booking my appointment was easy & pleasant; Jessica listened to my needs & helped me find a hairdresser for the next day who specialized in color with a little bit of a funky side. The decor & atmosphere at the Allen location is pretty & professional but still relaxed, & I was offered a wide selection of drinks, both alcoholic & non. Hillary, my hairdresser, instantly put me at ease with her friendly, attentive attitude & was always happy to clarify what she was doing & what options I had. She was very gentle with my hair & frank with her opinions on what would look best with my face & preferences. I'm really happy with my cut & color, & she did an excellent job explaining how she styled my hair. She's absolutely amazing at washing hair to boot (which is the best part of getting my hair done)! Best haircut I've gotten recently and I've been to a lot of places around town. I'm the guy who's been going to the quick cut haircut places for a haircut whenever I needed to, but it was never really that good, kind of a "one on the sides and longer on top" kind of cut and it would get shaggy fast. So I tried some more expensive places recommended to me and it was hit or miss. While I think my haircuts were better, my haircut was a bit different each time and never what I asked for. My girlfriend recommended Jovie Salon to me and so I went there this time. Honestly, it was great as the stylist spent a lot of time asking me about how I normally style my hair and how I like to get ready in the morning and what kind of products I use and things like that. We shared some funny stories and she made me feel really comfortable and even offered me a drink (I took a glass of water, but learned I could had a glass of beer!). Since my first cut with Julie 20 years ago, I have stalked her through her few moves to different locations. Prior to finding her, I used high end salons and had some horrible results. I have hair that will show every snip mark if not done right. So horrible, in fact, that once on a flight a lady handed me her hairdresser's card and said I needed help...this occurred after a recent cut at Neiman Marcus' flagship salon. These days, I am frequently asked by strangers who my hairdresser is, and they want to use her, which is a far cry from the conversation on that airplane! A bonus is that she knows I don't want to spend any time fixing my hair and cuts it accordingly. I even get compliments when I literally drip dry! My first experience with Jovie Salon was better than I expected. I left an email message on their website three minutes before their closing time to inquire if there were any next day appointments available, and to my surprise- Taylor called me ten minutes later to set up a next- day appointment with the nearest salon! Upon entering the McKinney salon, I was warmly greeted by the receptionist and offered a drink. Vetta listened carefully to what kind of haircut I wanted and what my normal hair care routine was before she cut my hair in exactly the way I wanted it. I was shown the haircare products that were used, but there was no pressure to purchase any of them. I have been going to Jovie Salons since the first salon opened many years ago. My two daughters and my husband have also gone to the salon. I followed Julie from the salon she had been working at in Corinth to her first salon she opened in Corinth. When she opened a salon in Allen I started going to Allen and now I also go to the one in McKinney. Julie and the other stylists there know how to cut hair. This is not a Supercuts. They work very hard to continue their education in cutting and coloring hair to keep up with new products and trends. The hair stylists and managers are all very friendly and courteous. I have never had a bad experience in the 16 Plus years I have been going to Jovie. Julie and Jo are great people. I highly recommend Jovie Salon. read more

I have been going to Jovie Salon just about 1 year now and I get so excited when I have upcoming appointments. Although the entire staff is great in Allen and Frisco, my stylist Jak is AMAZING! My hair was so damaged from bleaching that it wouldn't even dry any more, Jak has restored it and we have played with many styles and demi colors in the process of restoration and lightening, she always gives you the most bang for your buck. I leave with exactly what I want while strengthening my hair and bringing it to life! I have recommended friends with different hair types and preferences and I would recommend others to Jak absolutely hands down she is great! read more

I just moved to this area after living in Louisiana all my life- so this review is for all the people looking for an honest truth! The staff at Jovie salon is amazing. One thing you can tell that they strive for is to always get to know their costumers! I had Mrs. Amanda and absolutely loved her and her kind personality! Pricing is a tad high, but SO worth the money spent! Incredible place if you want your hair done RIGHT. They also do complementary cuts after your hair cut in case you want something trimmed! This salon is amazing! Everyone here is so welcoming and kind. They always offer something cold or hot to drink, which I always appreciate. The salon space is gorgeous, the lighting is beautiful and it's always an excitement to walk on the purple carpet in McKinney, as it feels like you are walking on a red carpet. The staff is amazing, always so sweet and welcoming. They always make you feel special and cared for. And of course, my hair is AMAZING! Good service, everyone is very kind, and so friendly. I had a terrific visit, my hair is very, very thick and I've found it challenging to find stylists who can handle my hair. I wear it pretty long, too, and it can take some time to fully dry it and style it. The young girl who I saw used great product and worked carefully to cut my hair (honestly, my haircut is fairly simple with long layers) and I was impressed with how she hard she worked to make my hair so smooth, shiny, and pretty. I have been going to Jovie in Craig Ranch in McKinney for the last 6 years! Julie nailed my favorite haircut and Lauren has taken it over. Brent does amazing color and Jordan is a favorite of my daughter for color and cut. It is a great professional place, sparkling water, luxury scalp massage and treatment to thicken my hair. I love it all and strongly recommend!!! They have Jr., Mid and Senior stylists - more complicated cuts do require a mid-level or senior stylists. They invest in their staff training and development. So happy with my experiences at Jovie Salon! The salon is in a beautiful, convenient area (for me anyway, as it's near, both, my office and home). Great customer service and friendly employees. I have been going to Pearl at Jovie Salon for a year and I am a very happy client. I have sent three other friends to her and they love their hair. She is an accomplished stylist and colorist that is in tune with all of the current trends. I popped in after lunch at the great italian place next door and picked up a menu, didn't think I would be able to get an appointment. But the front desk person was so kind and after answering some of my questions, introduced me to a stylist for a longer consultation. I have been going to Jovie Salon in Frisco for a couple of years. I'm normally there for two hours to get my hair cut, colored, and sometimes highlighted. Lauren is my stylist and I couldn't be happier with the results. I leave feeling like she has given me the cut I want, but also advises on what may be better.
