Extremely Disappointed - No Results After 30 Hours…read more I spent 30 hours at Elite Tutoring Place, fully committed to improving my ACT score. I followed every piece of advice, completed all the assigned work, and put in the extra effort outside of sessions. I'm a hard worker--I don't expect results without putting in the work. But after all that time and money, my score did not improve at all. The tutors were friendly, but the strategies they taught me were no different from what I had already learned on my own. There was no personalized approach, no real effort to target my weaknesses, and honestly, it felt like I was just going through the motions in every session. For a program that promises score improvements, this was a complete waste of time and money. If you're looking for real results, I strongly suggest finding another program. Elite Tutoring Place did nothing for me except drain my wallet and leave me frustrated. The owner will respond to this message claiming I never attended Elite Tutoring Place in Wheaton as he did in my google review. Regardless, I did attend Elite Tutoring Place in Wheaton, and I find it concerning that he claims not to have any record of me. I showed up, did the work, and stuck to the program as instructed, yet my score did not improve at all. Nick- Instead of dismissing my experience, maybe take accountability and consider how blaming the student for not following the program correctly when I did everything asked of me is not a great look. Instead of denying my attendance, maybe focus on improving your program so future students actually see results.

When school has at times been something she dreads going to Miss Joanna has been something she has looked forward to and joyfully and willingly embraced going to. Joanna is nothing short of amazing. She truly is incredible at this role, she has come alongside my daughter and provided a place and instruction that has resulted in my daughter thriving. Every time we leave my daughter is encouraged (and so am I ). As a mom what is even better than the wonderful academic/reading help she gives I of course wanted to feel confident about who I was leaving my daughter in the care of. I couldn't speak more highly of who Joanna is. She is the best. So so kind, gentle, fun, encouraging, generous, warm, sweet and joyful. Her little classroom is just perfect. I could go on and on. I am forever grateful to Emily for the fantastic work she did with my son. She went way beyond what…read morea normal tutoring center normally would do. She "really cared" about my son's wellbeing. The personal care my son received was extraordinary. My son was getting C's, D's and F's in school. He was becoming depressed. His self esteem was low. He said, "Mom, I'm not that smart". His school said, "You parents are all alike. You always think your child is smart, but most children are just average". That's when I took my son to the Glen Ellyn Tutoring Center. Emily said, "when a smart child doesn't do well in school, check his vision". I did. The school had told me he had 20/20 vision. In fact his vision was very poor and he had difficulty tracking words when he read. Two problems overlooked by his school. He also had attention problems due to elivated levels of lead in his body. After these problems were fixed, my son started to get all A's and B,s. My son had to make up for wasted years in school during which he couldn't see the board or concentrate well. Emily helped him catch up. My son now has a lot of self confidence and will begin work on his doctorate at UAB this fall. This wouldn't have happened without Emily's help. She really goes all out for her students.

Instead of providing a proper invoice or any standard, secure online payment system, they send a text message asking for money through Zelle or Venmo. When I asked for a normal invoice, they refused -- and instead pushed for a credit card over the phone, which felt completely unprofessional and frankly sketchy for a business that should be operating with transparency. Customer service was no better. Every interaction felt dismissive and unhelpful, with zero effort to resolve concerns or operate like a legitimate, organized service provider. At this point, the entire setup feels unreliable, disorganized, and far below the level of professionalism any family should expect. It is sketch at best . I would strongly caution anyone from trusting them with their time, money, or child based on what I experienced.

The office is dated, crowded and disorganized. The secretaries sell olive oil on the side, unprofessional. We won't be back for the school year.

Yes, I am seeking assistance for my son, Joseph, 6.5 yrs in the 1st grade, Joseph recently transferred from a private outdoor school, (located) in Wheaton.... The transition (to his new school) has been challenging. Joseph is extremely intelligent, altho he's a left brain thinker. His brain filters and processes information from left to right. He performs exceedingly well in math, in some aspects, but struggles with math concepts presented in traditional school. He's an unbelievable narrative and conceptual thinker. Although he struggles, which is an understatement, with numbers transposition, letter transposition, phonics and short-term memory. His long term memory goes back to the womb. Prior to our appointment, I suggested we facilitate the meeting over Facetime or Skype. I mean why drive 30 minutes to meet someone who cannot pick up the phone and call a prospective client. Perhaps Tara knew innately she would be out performed by other tutor candidates who show more sincerity and professionalism. She certainly did not discern from the credentials in my email that newspaper folks write and interview with our noses - or least she doesn't care.
