Zero rating,i made an appointment and he never showed up and didn't answer my calls until 2days later... the car he offered was behind in registration he met me at a school parking lot which was a red flag in my book to begin with, he kept staring at me like candy and kept saying how pretty i am which made me really uneasy, he was unprofessional and brought a car to me so i wasnt able to pick a car from the lot like the website shows and he said it was his last vehicle available. I rented a Ford Mustang for 5 days and it was a disaster. For the price the car wasn't worth.The car had many problems like: windshield wipers that didn't wipe, speaker volume lock, top speed lock, broken plastics in the interior, slick tyres, etc. It was so dangerous. We agree with the trader about turning the car at the last day in the evening but when I turned back the car, he said that's not true and I had to pay 1 day more. The low pressure light was on & the manager didn't care at all I tried explaining how danger their car is he could care less also he refused to give me a discount for giving me a crappy car. Beware: This company goes by Economy Car rental on Travelocity, and probably some other online travel sites. I received a quote on the site and of course, the car I booked was not available, so they offered a more expensive one. When I reluctantly agreed because I was in a hurry, as I drove off their garage, I noticed plenty of small four door cars on the lot, so they obviously lied to me, in order to upsale. My experience with joy car rental is nothing short of outstanding. Their customer service and loyalty to former customers is the kind of was you expect from the big chains, but just don't seem to get. An example we came to get one vehicle that was unavailable and immediately they not only accommodated me but upgraded me to the best vehicle that I could get in that class. Horrible company. We pointed out damage on the vehicle that was not listed on their form, prior to renting, and they got an attitude saying it's not our responsibility to point out damage. Huge customer service issues and didn't have the car we reserved. Worst car company I've ever used. read more

I wish I could give a negative star review. This is the most unprofessional and horrible experience I have ever had dealing with a "business" The first car they gave me was a joke...a 2006 Toyota Corolla that reeked of cigarettes, had trash and someone's old hand lotion left inside. There was mold in the trunk and the tires were so bald I hydroplaned almost the whole time teying to drive home from work downtown and almost got into several accidents as I was unable to go over 50mph without hydroplaning. The windshield wipers were so old and torn up I could barely see anything on the freeway. The car actually wouldn't start on me while I was downtown and I had to wait in the rain until I could get help and it finally restarted, thank God. I can't believe this actually happened. When I called to complain about almost dying and the numerous other issues with the car, the owners cousin came to drop off another car. A Mazda 2, 2008...this one still had not been cleaned and while it was raining the windshield wipers were once again old and basically useless. When I told them I was unhappy they took the car from me, paid me $150 in cash and dropped me off at my house like I was nothing as well as telling me he couldn't believe how ungrateful I was being after they had done me so many "favors". To top off the whole thing owner threatened to break my lawyer's jaw if I tried to sue them for giving me such an unsafe car. Please for your own safety do not go to this place... there are enough legitimate car rental places to choose from that will rent you a safe and reliable car without threatening or leaving you stranded without a vehicle. This is the worst experience I have ever had with a company in my life. read more

Haven't written a review in a long time but these guys are really bad. They will give a low quote and when you show up its several hundreds more. They play dumb and the receptionist will swear she never talked to you on the phone. Then they play the game that they're doing you a favor. The company is a scam! I was involved in an accident where the driver of the rental car from this company hit me. Of course the insurance information was not available in the car. So when I contacted the company for this information the lady who answered the phone refused to give me the insurance information. She yelled at me for calling her cell phone number (which was the number listed on her companies website). The accident was not my fault and I'm just trying to get a couple things to get the situation worked out. As a business owner you should be providing excellent customer service no matter the situation. Because of your reckless attitude alone, I would never recommend a person to rent a car from you. Also you probably shouldn't have the business number connected to your cell phone. Worst company ever. I suggest you rent from someone else. If I haven't rented a car from them and have a headache from this mess, I can't imagine the people who actually rent from her. read more

When I had a bad experience with Enterprise they messed up my reservation and didn't have a car for me so when I was recommended to go to the Joy car rental I spoke to Mehdi and he hooked me up with a car right away and even gave me a veteran's discount and the service was great and I highly recommend this place to anyone read more

Pretty quick and simple. Just called and went in to pick up the vehicle. All within one hour. You do have to be on your toes though, i was told that i would get one car and when i arrived i was handed the keys to a run down, empty vehicle and finally they gave a different car because they were about to close and didn't have time to put in any gas. Other than that, just check the papers to see what they put down for the gas level. read more

STAY AWAY!!! They booked me at less than $20 a day but when I got there they refused to honor it. They jacked up their price to $60 a day after I got there. That's for an economy car! Then they wanted a $2000 deposit. These guys are super shady and rude. There is a reason they aren't in the building with the other rental companies and I'm guessing it has something to do with their business practices. I went down to another local small company in the rental center who gave me a price close to Joy's original price and only paid a $200 deposit. read more

I needed a car for four months and i chose this place because it was much cheaper than the chain businesses. Everyone I spoke with was very friendly and helpful. The car itself was fine, nothing special but had no problems with it. They made the check in and out processes very quick and easy, as well as transportation back to the airport. I would recommend this place, especially if you're on a budget! read more

After months of the rent the company JoyRent is still randomly taking money of my bank account! Without any informaiton. + I received 70 euros less than the deposit was. We rented from Joy over the NYE weekend! They had cars available!! The rental process was smooth and easy! The employees over the phone and in the shop were very nice and helpful. They worked with us and were very accommodating for us! We had no issues with the vehicle, and the pick-up/ return was easy. We will definitely rent again! No up charging or hidden scams. One of their drivers backed up into me and the company refused to give us their insurance information. I fact when I called back the owner called me an assehole. I turned the claim into my insurance company and filed a report with the San Diego District Attorneys office. They come across as totally dishonest and rent older junker cars to foreign students. I would not rent from them since they have no intergity. read more

This company is crooked and dishonest. I have rented cars from other rental companies and have never been treated so badly. They tacked on a $200.00 dollar deposit with the total cost of the rental and said it would be returned when I brought the car back, three weeks later several calls and multiple excuses later and still no sign of my money, I finally just called American express and disputed the charge and they took care of it for me. We had booked earlier on line and they failed to tell us they were off sight from the airport. The man who checked us out took over 40 minutes to get us our car and tricked us into a upgrade saying it was only $10.00 but it was really $10.00 dollars more a day for a piece of crap corolla with 80,000 miles on it. He also said we were getting a military discount but when I returned the car and asked the girl to show me on the paper work how much I saved with the discount it was non existent. read more
