Yellowtail tasted AMAZING! Miso soup with jalapeños is the only way to have it! Everything was made to order, fresh and so tasty!! Service was great, everyone is so friendly! It was pretty busy but it didn't take long for our food to come out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's on the smaller side but there's seating at the bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Nevada Roll / Salmon Sushi
    Ken P.

The Nevada Roll was excellent as was the Salmon Sushi. I never thought I would brag about the ginger but this was the best ginger I've ever had!

spicy hand rolls: salmon, tuna and yellowtail. The specialty roll has yellowtail and jalapeño slices...YUM!!!

Great for take out sushi...I like their hand rolls and the specialty roll they make that has yellowtail and jalapeño slices (pictured). [[HIGHLIGHT]]Interior is basic, not a first date kinda place. But good for a family, individual, or group of friends starting out an evening.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service is friendly and pretty fast for food to order. Can't wait to try their tonkatsu Raman and poke bowls next!

We decided to try a different sushi spot in Santa Fe. The location is great. It is away from the plaza area, where parking is easier. The service was a little different at this establishment, but not bad. You order at the counter and they bring it out to your table. The staff were all super friendly and the food came out quick. They do have a large menu, so I'm sure you will find something you like. The food wasn't bad at all and the prices were good. What I really like about Joy's is that is connected to an Asian market. We checked out the store after we ate and I found a lot of interesting things. It's worth checking out.

The husband and I love this place! Truly a hidden gem. Being from Hawaii I'm always looking for good sushi spots and after eating here multiple times now, Joys is solid! Very good sushi with very good prices. Staff is friendly and quick. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is clean and usually quite calm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Also love that it's right next to the asian market (which is also very good!).

My husband always makes fun of me for eating sushi in non-standard places: gas station sushi, sushi in the Middle East....and so I thought of that when I decided to get sushi in New Mexico. [[HIGHLIGHT]]While it looks unimpressive from the outside (in a strip mall) the location is legit because it is connected to an Asian grocery store.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside there are quite a few tables and a sushi bar. Everything is clean including the restroom.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You order at the counter and then they bring your food to you. They have a gigantic menu! Like fifty different rolls! I got the Nevada Roll and it was outstanding. The sushi was fresh and of good quality (and in from Southern California where I eat sushi weekly). I liked the variety of rolls and si es. They have fountain sodas and also a variety of specialty Japanese drinks. The service was good and everyone was friendly and helpful. They also do to go orders. Overall I had a great experience and after eating Mexican food for 3 days this was a welcome meal in my trip to New Mexico!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]A wonderful sushi joint that is consistently busy and won't break the bank.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I took both my Mom and daughter here on separate occasions and enjoyed our experience. It's counter service and takeout only, but the sushi is great. They have taken bowls and poke bowls as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Located inside the Santa Fe Asian Market, the ambiance isn't quite restaurant quality, but it's worth the price.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

New York Crunch and Shogun roll.
    Shay M.

I had the New York Crunch roll and the Shogun roll. Also side of edamame and all of it was delicious fresh and packaged nicely for delivery.

The food was amazing and great value. They didn't come to your table to get your order- it's "order at the counter". [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience was great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Happy Hour runs twice daily with reduced prices on food & beverages from 3-5p and 9-10p. They have an extensive sake menu categorized by flavor profile designed for pairings, along with a lean but modern wine list including detailed tasting notes. Japanese whisky and exotic green tea (try the kuki cha!) round out a full beverage program, and deep booths offer private views of the lush valley below. Chef Kiko Rodriguez offers a four-course tasting menu at an exceptional value for $65 - trying this or any of Paloma's suggestions from their fresh sushi menu (only restaurant in New Mexico with fish flown in from Japan daily) will surely please. Gloriously chilled tuna sashimi was thinly sliced cut with heat from fresh wasabi and a savory ginger shoyu. Hand rolls are served in pairs, and the spicy tuna was simple, elegant, and delightful - a perfect showcase of the freshest fish. Before switching to dessert, shaved ginger is also snappy and cleansing. I was absolutely mind blown by the Sakura Pannacotta - delicate and dreamy custard textured like chawanmushi with soft aromatic cherry blossom and the most delectable shortbread accent. Three light courses that were fully nourishing, absolutely satisfying, and delightfully delicious!

The other specialty roll we tried was the Green River roll which was pictured on the menu but not listed on the menu. This one actually came with 10 pieces of sushi which was a great deal for sure. Service was great and fast. This way they were also very fresh as soon as we were ready to enjoy a different roll. The restaurant is located inside a shopping center building and while it's an older building the restaurant itself was clean and inviting. We were quickly able to sit down and proceed with ordering our food. Give them a try if you're in Santa Fe. Tasty and fresh ;)

The goodness began with Naomi, who helped me fix an error in my reservation and get a table at a good time tonight. The goodness continued with our server Mitzi, who should be teaching graduate classes in hospitality in every big city. She was friendly without being overbearing, informative without being pedantic, subtle and gracious. Now, the food! My wife chose the vegetarian tasting menu and I had some of each dish: so very flavorful (a green salad with pears, a life-changing mushroom bisque [and I don't like mushrooms!], a chickpea croquette with pickled artichoke hearts and ratatouille, and a substitution of the lemon crepe for three yummy scoops of sorbet and gelato. I chose the scallops, perfectly cooked and moist, over couscous, and a dish of tasty sauteed baby spinach. A wonderful experience, and not overpriced, and everyone treated us sweetly. The musical soundtrack was swinging, and at a compassionate volume. Our first trip to Santa Fe, and we found a gem. Hooray! And thank you, Mitzi!

The interior is classy and very comfortable. We were seated at a nice comfy corner booth. The soft music in the background was soothing and just noticeable enough without being a distraction. We were served complimentary flutes of local sparking wine and a fresh baked bread basket and butter to start. We then ordered cocktails and three starters. First was a split plate of the endive smoked duck salad with a warm bacon vinegarette. Wow...this was nice and refreshing. This was followed by the crab dumplings with fresh corn and peas and lobster sauce. Delicious! The final small plate was seared foie gras on top of banana bread toast. This was very good. I miss foie gras. Unfortunately, it's banned in California. They had a 2023 Sea Smoke "Ten"Pi ot Noir on the wine list. This is one of the best Pinot Noirs produced in California and not easy to find. This was a no doubter and we ordered a bottle to pair with our entrees. My wife ordered their signature elk tenderloin for redemption because the restaurant the night before failed at executing this. I ordered the tomahawk pork chop. This was cooked to perfection with a nice thin crust on the outside and a perfect very light pink juicy center. We ordered a side of brocolini that was pan roasted with shallots and butter. Everything was very good and Michelin grade in our opinion. Lastly we ended the evening and split the tiramasu type of desert. My wife had the expresso martini and I had an 18 year old Glen Morangie scotch neat. The service was excellent and worth the splurge. This is a must when visiting Santa Fe.

I started with what I thought was going to be a plain Caesar salad, but when it arrived, it was served like a sushi or lettuce wrap. It was very creative and tasty! It made it much more fun to eat than the average salad. It was rich and topped with anchovies, like a true Caesar salad. I then had the peppercorn Elk tenderloin. I asked it be served as the chef recommended, which is medium rare. I am sometimes wary of medium rare, but this tenderloin was DIVINE! It was so moist and bursting with flavor. I loved it. The cocktails were creative and just as enjoyable as the meal. Other options for dinner apps include: cornbread, ahi crudo, mussels, and bison carpaccio. Mains: scallops, pan roasted Branzino, toasted masa gnocchi, grilled Maine lobster tails, duck leg confit, and a pecan coffee rubbed prime flat iron. I'm sure all of them would be amazing.
