Here's a little story for you guys. Back in April I decided to purchase a Joybird bed. I know, I know, big mistake. I actually knew that before purchasing. If it wasn't for the Bari J limited edition bed that I absolutely fell in love with, I would have NEVER risked it. However, I spent hours searching for a bed that was similar that I liked just as much, and I could literally find nothing. I decided to risk it with the hope that "no shenanigans will happen to me, I will be the exception." The ordering process was fine. I even told the lady on the phone whilst ordering that I was really worried about buying this bed because her company had such bad reviews. She tried to assure me that everything would turn out just fine .... well, on a positive note the bed did come with only a slight delay. However, when the bed was being assembled the brackets were off and most of the hardware was completely wrong. The delivery guys (now looking back I realize they probably deal with this all the time) immediately said "oh well this isn't our problem because we actually work for lazy boy not Joybird" which in retrospect really pissed me off because it was their way of trying to offload the problem and basically lie to me. They literally ran out of there so fast that they actually ended up taking some of the correctly fitting hardware with them. Well, as you can imagine, I was pretty pissed. This seems to be a reoccurring problem with Joybird furniture. The fact that the hardware being off is something I've read about in these groups tells me that this is a complacency issue on the part of the company, and they have no intention of actually changing it. Luckily for me, I actually live in Los Angeles so we have JoyBird show rooms here. I happen to live about 20 minutes away from one. You bet I drove my angry little butt over there ready to rip some new a**holes. When I walked in I was the only customer there and three employees greeted me. I immediately told them "Two things are about to happen. You're going to get on the phone with a manager, I'm going to get a direct number, email AND name of someone who actually deals with business and can get things done, and you're going to reimburse me a percentage off of my purchase." I proceeded to tell them exactly how everything went down... especially about how their delivery men lied about how they work for lazy boy and not JoyBird, and actually TOOK OFF with some of my hardware... and even pulled up reviews from the Facebook group "JoyBird sucks" to get them TO FU*!ING CONFRONT the fact that this isn't a "one time thing" (which of course they tried to claim) this exact problem seems to be rampant... honestly though guys, the look on their face was priceless. At first they tried to scramble and tell me well actually LazyBoy and Joybird aren't the same. I immediately snapped back (like seriously how DARE they) and told them not to f*&ck with me, it's the same company... owned by the same people... different names. I've done my research dumba**ses. It's interesting how different people respond when you're in the flesh in front of them, you know? Not just over email or some stupid customer service phone number that clearly is good for nothing. These people knew damn well that I have a reasonable right to complain, and that they've been scamming the sh!* out of people... they just never get people coming to their show room and have to deal with them face-to-face!! Long story short, I got the girl to get a "higher up" on the phone. After, of course, she tried to tell me that there's nothing she can do because "she just works here". I got $300 reimbursed to my partner's credit card for the bed, and I got the personal work email of (what I'm assuming) is her manager. I asked to be CCed in ALL the correspondences she then emailed the manufacturing company in Mexico for my new hardware. I was not taking ANY risks with these people. I told her straight up that I am absolutely sure that I would be ghosted unless I took the proper measures to make sure my issues where actually addressed and the proper people were informed AND that if this issue isn't properly addressed in a timely manner they would be seeing me back. She tried to feed me some crap about how the reviews aren't really that representative of the company because "no one writes good reviews they only like to complain" and initially tried to offer me $75 compensation but I was super insistent and got exactly what I wanted. Hopefully I get my freaking hardware. read more

I visited the LA showroom recently with my husband, we were browsing for potential decor options for our new home. Ross Weaver greeted us immediately and let us know about the current promotions, and said he was there to help. He also checked in on us periodically to see if we needed anything. We were interested in the Rumi rug, and Ross started us a virtual cart which he then emailed to us and gave us his card. Our delightful in-store experience definitely made a big difference in our eventual decision to purchase said rug! Highly recommend visiting the LA showroom if you get the chance :) read more

We are very happy with our recent purchase from Joybird. The whole process with super easy, but it was made even better with the help of Riyah, our wonderful designer! From the get go we were greeting with kind, easy going energy. We did not feel pressure to purchase or rushed to make a decision. She drew up a design for us to make sure we were 100% satisfied with our fabric choice and couch size. She went above and beyond! We couldn't buy a couch on the internet without sitting on it first, so we went to this showroom to try the Holt Petite. Our salesperson, Riyah, was knowledgeable, helpful, thorough, patient and just KIND. She came to our home with armfuls of fabric swatches, thoughtful suggestions, and she even kept my exuberant 4yo occupied while we were trying to decide. Her (free) design services even included excellent suggestions from other retailers for the items Joybird couldn't provide! When she moved out of state, she seamlessly transitioned us to the store manager, Ross, and made sure no details fell through the cracks. Ross is fantastic -- and he was just as determined to go above and beyond. When two of our items were damaged in transit, they were quick to resolve it. We liked our experience so much, we've returned to them to furnish our outdoor patio, too. At this point, it feels like collaborating with friends. read more

I purchased a bookcase, coffee table & 2 side tables. When I received the bookcase it was different color wood & I had to return it! When I got my coffee table it was chipped & 2 side tables were different color woods. The whole experience was very disappointing. I NEVER write review on Yelp! but I want to make sure that people know even if they decide to return something they don't get their money back within 5 days! After 3 weeks I waiting I finally received $ for my bookcase but not for other items! I don't recommend this store to anyone:( read more

My wife and I first went to West Elm and CB2 looking for the perfect sofa that was had the aesthetics we were looking for while being durable and practical and not the cost of a 2 week trip to Hawaii. Joybird and the Holt sectional with storage was everything we could have asked for, and the sales/design rep, Nicole, was super helpful during the whole process. I don't know who in their right mind would give this place any more than one star and frankly, if I could give zero, I would. This is a joke of a business. I ordered furniture in February. I was told to expect delivery in ~8 weeks. I get it, supply chain delays and all...but after a while this became just so much noise and excuses to me. Initially, I was impressed, I gave them my $$ and got a slick email with my "dashboard" that would have all of my updates and then...NOTHING. My slick "dashboard" turned into cobwebs and was never updated. I called on the phone and was told that there were supply chain delay issues. Blah blah blah. I was also told that one of my items was ready to ship and would do so, immediately. Thank goodness, I thought! Unfortunately, I was also told that my other item would experience another 2 or 3 month delay. The next day, I checked my "dashboard" and saw that this item that was supposed to ship immediately would ship in three weeks. HOLD THE PHONE, WHAT? So I called. I never got a straight answer. I asked the customer service rep to speak to a manager. I was put on terminal hold. I called back and I was told that all the managers have one phone to share. I am sorry but what kind of BS is this? I played phone tag with the manager for about a week until I finally was able to speak with her. She told me that I would be her POC for the duration and that my item would ship out ASAP. I felt better. The Friday that this item was supposed to arrive, I came home from work early and met the guys with the delivery. When they saw the box, the first words out of their mouths was "oh sh!t, I hope it isn't the green one". I knew what they meant because I ordered The Green One. They opened the box and it was broken. They told me that they weren't surprised because they see this all the time. This was the last straw for me. I cancelled my entire order. It was 3 months after my initial order that I first saw the broken furniture. I was ghosted by Troy, my initial sales rep AND by Breanna, the Manager that was my "primary" POC as soon as I let them know that i was disappointed and wanted to cancel. This is no way to run a company. Funny thing is, I have told several people about my experience and theirs was exactly the same. Whatever you do, stay away from Joybird. There is no joy in that bird as far as I am concerned. read more

Great furniture, great selection, great prices and Athenas who helped us out was amazing!

We stopped by Joybird just to have a quick look around at some different couch styles but ended up finding "the one" right away. Jorunn helped answer all of our questions and helped customize our purchase for our space. We were able to take multiple color swatches home to compare, but it was also nice to use their website to see how the couches would look in each color. Everything together made the decision and purchasing process very easy! read more

The Korver Apartment Sectional is perfect in our living room. The Joybird team did a great job walking us through the fabric options and arranging the order and delivery after we started the process online ourselves. My experience both online and at the physical Joybird location were excellent! I am not a good shopper, as in, I don't know or care which items match! I looked online and went to the local showroom for guidance. The team was amazing and really took their time with me and gave me their design expertise. It made the shopping experience SO incredibly easy for someone like me who does not enjoy shopping. And, the quality of their products are high end but affordable and the amount of choices for customization is quite expansive! Just bought a sleeper sofa from Joybird and had to review because they were so great to work with, I wish I'd known of them sooner! I perused the website but then went into the store on Melrose and Athenas was BEYOND helpful. So quick and responsive, and offered to give me samples to take home so I could take my time and make a decision - she didn't pressure me to close the sale in the store but remained a great point of contact. I've been so pleased and can't wait to buy another piece of furniture from them again soon! read more

We went to the LA showroom to shop for a new sofa during the Thanksgiving sale. Athenas was there to welcome us and walk us through every model on the showroom floor, and was so knowledgeable about pricing, timeline, materials, and more. I have ordered my dream chairs and the ordering process was simple. i sent an email with questions and was immediately contacted. I have been looking for a couch for a bit and thought I would check out Joybird. I was pleasantly surprised by the selection at the WeHo showroom. Once I settled on the couch I liked, I had a few questions. Lucky for me Riyah a design specialist for Joybird was there to help me out. She made it super easy and I felt very informed once I made my decision on what fabric would be best for my new couch. This is my second bad experience with this company. The first was years ago when it was a new brand and I ordered a bed that collapsed within a week, but it's been years so I decided to give them another chance. I ordered a rug I liked and it was delivered while I was out of the country. When I came home and opened it, the dye had bled from one section to another and the shedding of the rug was so awful it has bald spots. I contacted the company who told me I should have contacted them sooner (it was less than 45 days, and that they could do nothing to help me. The poor quality of product (now twice in a row) has taught me well. Never ever ever, will I order from this company again. read more

Design services were outstanding. I live outside of LA so I was able to have multiple virtual appointments with my interior design specialist, Riyah. She was so warm and inviting from the beginning when I met her in the showroom several months ago and mentioned my project. When I was ready to start working on it, I reached out because I found through the website that Joybird offered custom design. I would recommend ordered a swatch kit a week or two before you make your first design appointment so you can have a swatch kit with you. Mine came the night before so I was ready! Our first call was excellent and I couldn't believe how easily Riyah picked up on the floor plan through a camera. She scaled the rooms I needed designed perfectly. I added some requested measurements when she sent me PDFs of the spaces and then we met again after I submitted them and she had created mood boards and renderings of each space: a living room with sitting area, dining room and office. Riyah saw my vision so well! Her ideas were great and we connected on similar taste. She helped me find outside vendors for a gallery wall and pendant light for the dining area. Each meeting was so productive and fun! After two, we had nailed down some ideas and she sent the renderings for me to consider while away on vacation. When I returned, we connected, placed the orders through her and am not currently awaiting my new spaces!! I can't wait! So happy to have worked with such an excellent young professional who is obviously quite skilled in her work. I see big things for Riyah and I'm grateful for the help with Joybird. read more
