The joybird couch was only in our apartment for three years and is already broken. The legs have literally caved in. For a couch that cost me $1600 this should have never happened. We had a friend who is in construction look at the couch and he said that the materials are cheap - literally plywood:chipboard is barely holding this thing together. Honestly, the sofas from living spaces in my home have lasted longer than the crap these people sell and are still holding up for my family. I wish I hadn't fallen for the hype with this place. I'm updating my review to include my delivery experience. I received a text message earlier this week, saying that my order was ready to be scheduled for delivery. I was able to choose the delivery date, and the earliest day available was just in two days! They texted/emailed me the day before the delivery date to provide a three hour window (1 to 4pm for me) in which they expected to arrive. The day of, they provided a tracker, which let me see which numbered stop I was on the delivery driver's route, how long they expected the delivery to take, and their estimated delivery time. It was so nice to be able to track where they are and when they expected to arrive instead of waiting around, wondering when they'd arrive. When they did arrive, the whole process was probably 10 minutes, 15 max. The delivery guys were friendly and professional and quick. They installed the couch legs, moved it to my liking, added the cushions, threw away any packaging, and took a final picture as proof of delivery. I may come back with another update on how my couch holds up, but I've been enjoying it! It's exactly what I wanted, and it fits and looks great in my space. Great experience so far. read more

Gave us a great idea what we should expect. Lots of examples that we were able to move around and really visualize what we were building. Ross was also able to show us 3D version of the couch on his computer exactly how we customized it. Ross was patient with us as we spent near 2 hours there. I didn't feel rushed or pressured. I had been shopping for a couch online for several weeks and really fell in love with one of the Joybird sofas. Since I've heard some horror stories about D2C brands showing up with poor quality and/or comfort, I really wanted to go and see it and sit on it in person. So we ordered a couch, and was surprised about the delivery time. It was delivered within a week. Surprising since they make them by hand, but AWESOME! So we anticipated our deliver day. Wednesday 3/9/2022! The truck arrives. They came upstairs, and said, hey we think the couch is damaged. Puzzled, what do you mean? You think, or it is damaged? No it's damaged. Ok show me what you see. *see photos below, still on the truck*. So the drivers told us, picking it up from the shop, that the box looked damaged and even told them, "are you sure you want to send that one out". Which obviously they said yes. They later discovered when trying to deliver that there was an issue. My wife called the store to see what was going on, or what they can do. She only asked to refund the shipping since we will be needing another one. She spoke with a representative with the name Henderson. He said that he will not refund the shipping, but wait, there's more.... 4 more weeks until we can get a replacement couch! At this point my wife is getting frustrated, and Henderson just says, well we can just refund you. What kind of customer service is that.... Not to mention we literally threw away our old couches last night. So now, and issue that they knew about, still sent out the couch knowingly, and are willing to do nothing about it, just say, it'll be 4 weeks until we can get a new one built. How did I get 1 couch delivered in less than a week, but now I have to wait more... seems fishy to me. "Highly quality products built for a lifetime" "trust our homemade furniture to withstand the test of time". Seems like it can't even stand a truck ride around the corner.. I have not sat on this couch, obviously, but I might up it a score or two once or even if we receive it. Bottom of the line, be cautious when purchasing a $5K couch, because their customer service, or at least Henderson is absolutely horrendous. read more

My husband and I were looking for a very comfy sectional couch for the new house we bought in Arizona. We checked a couple of home furnishing retailers online and Joybird was one of them. One weekend, we decided to pop by a showroom in West Hollywood (we often drive by on this street but didn't realized the showroom existed!). The showroom was open and had a very nice atmosphere, with their collections beautifully displayed in each section. We fell in love with this one sectional as soon as we walked in and ended up purchasing the same exact sectional as displayed. I purchased furniture on 11/13/22 and was told that my order was in stock and would be delivered within 2 and at most 3 weeks. I received an email from the company stating that my order was ready to be delivered but they could not schedule mine until 12/27/22 because they were at the mercy of their shipper and that's the soonest they could deliver it. So you do the math. Not very honest about their delivery schedule. If you are ok with waiting double the amount of time for your order then you expected then shop here. read more

I actually love their sofa but the $658 protection plan they sold me is absolutely worthless. We bought it specifically for coverage for pet stains. At the time we had a dog that was fully trained but two years after purchase we got a puppy who had a few (#1) accidents over the course of a couple of days. I immediately reached out to ServeCo, who took two WEEKS to respond that they had even received the claim, then another week to deny it as it was "an accumulation" and not a single incident. Even though this stain was in one area. Again, the furniture is well made, but I can't recommend them because they push a horrible third-party product on top of it. It will cost $100 to steam clean the entire couch - could have just done that annually for nearly 7 years and gotten more out of that than their 5 year "protection" plan. read more

I've been dealing with this company since last fall. Ordered the Florence sideboard and it came with warped doors. When I called them and told them they sent two new doors to my home, which did not even fit the piece. Then they ordered a replacement, and the replacement came with warped doors as well. Beginning of January they picked up both pieces and have not refunded my money yet. This is a lazy boy company, and I am surprised that they are. Customer service is so pathetic. Here's a little story for you guys. Back in April I decided to purchase a Joybird bed. I know, I know, big mistake. I actually knew that before purchasing. If it wasn't for the Bari J limited edition bed that I absolutely fell in love with, I would have NEVER risked it. However, I spent hours searching for a bed that was similar that I liked just as much, and I could literally find nothing. I decided to risk it with the hope that "no shenanigans will happen to me, I will be the exception." The ordering process was fine. I even told the lady on the phone whilst ordering that I was really worried about buying this bed because her company had such bad reviews. She tried to assure me that everything would turn out just fine .... well, on a positive note the bed did come with only a slight delay. However, when the bed was being assembled the brackets were off and most of the hardware was completely wrong. The delivery guys (now looking back I realize they probably deal with this all the time) immediately said "oh well this isn't our problem because we actually work for lazy boy not Joybird" which in retrospect really pissed me off because it was their way of trying to offload the problem and basically lie to me. They literally ran out of there so fast that they actually ended up taking some of the correctly fitting hardware with them. Well, as you can imagine, I was pretty pissed. This seems to be a reoccurring problem with Joybird furniture. The fact that the hardware being off is something I've read about in these groups tells me that this is a complacency issue on the part of the company, and they have no intention of actually changing it. Luckily for me, I actually live in Los Angeles so we have JoyBird show rooms here. I happen to live about 20 minutes away from one. You bet I drove my angry little butt over there ready to rip some new a**holes. When I walked in I was the only customer there and three employees greeted me. I immediately told them "Two things are about to happen. You're going to get on the phone with a manager, I'm going to get a direct number, email AND name of someone who actually deals with business and can get things done, and you're going to reimburse me a percentage off of my purchase." I proceeded to tell them exactly how everything went down... especially about how their delivery men lied about how they work for lazy boy and not JoyBird, and actually TOOK OFF with some of my hardware... and even pulled up reviews from the Facebook group "JoyBird sucks" to get them TO FU*!ING CONFRONT the fact that this isn't a "one time thing" (which of course they tried to claim) this exact problem seems to be rampant... honestly though guys, the look on their face was priceless. At first they tried to scramble and tell me well actually LazyBoy and Joybird aren't the same. I immediately snapped back (like seriously how DARE they) and told them not to f*&ck with me, it's the same company... owned by the same people... different names. I've done my research dumba**ses. It's interesting how different people respond when you're in the flesh in front of them, you know? Not just over email or some stupid customer service phone number that clearly is good for nothing. These people knew damn well that I have a reasonable right to complain, and that they've been scamming the sh!* out of people... they just never get people coming to their show room and have to deal with them face-to-face!! Long story short, I got the girl to get a "higher up" on the phone. After, of course, she tried to tell me that there's nothing she can do because "she just works here". I got $300 reimbursed to my partner's credit card for the bed, and I got the personal work email of (what I'm assuming) is her manager. I asked to be CCed in ALL the correspondences she then emailed the manufacturing company in Mexico for my new hardware. I was not taking ANY risks with these people. I told her straight up that I am absolutely sure that I would be ghosted unless I took the proper measures to make sure my issues where actually addressed and the proper people were informed AND that if this issue isn't properly addressed in a timely manner they would be seeing me back. She tried to feed me some crap about how the reviews aren't really that representative of the company because "no one writes good reviews they only like to complain" and initially tried to offer me $75 compensation but I was super insistent and got exactly what I wanted. Hopefully I get my freaking hardware. read more
