I have never had such a fantastic time !!! I came here with my family and everyone was so warm inviting and helpful on this new journey and experience . The studio is clean perfect tightly well stocked colorful inviting wide spacious all of the above im 1000000% coming back . They ahd complimentary drink and candy with a bar for cocktails if needed . Had a great time at this paint studio. The instructor was informative and helped all of us along the way. They also played some dope music that had us dancing and singing in our seats. I just finished my first class and I had a blast! This was my first time taking a class like this and I'm glad I did it here. The class was small and intimate and we made friends with our other peers. Leilani did a great job teaching us. They made us feel really comfortable and encouraged us the whole time. The vibes here are 10/10 I really enjoyed the music and the drinks def helped! I will be coming again and bringing my girls! read more

Had some hiccups when my wife and I booked our initial reservation for Valentine's Day weekend, but we got sick and had to reschedule about three more times due to errors on eventbrite and just being plain old forgetful, but our reservation was honored through out it all! Thank you so much Demi!!! Had a great time painting with my wife while Demi was instructing the class. Made small talk with fellow attendants, had some drinks too. Lit ass music was playing. Overall a great time! Wish class was bigger by about 2-6 more attendants but still a fun activity! read more

Came here for my bachelorette party and we had so much fun! Demi and Carrie were so fun and had great music playing. They were both super helpful and I loved that we were able to bring our own alcohol but they also had drinks we could buy. Parking was a little hard to find so try to carpool if you can. I think one other thing that would have been helpful is if it went a little bit slower. We were done in less than 2 hours and I think if we were able to take our time, we might have had better paintings. Overall we had a great time! read more

Cutest place! The owner and the assistant instructor were the coolest and sweetest ever! Me and my family had a great time! It was so clean and the supplies were of great quality. Music was bumping! I felt like I was home with family painting and chilling. We had so much fun. I highly recommend supporting this young black talented woman. Parking is typical LA parking so make sure to come early and find street parking down one of the sides streets. read more

My sister gifted me with a paint and sip here for Mothers Day. We went last Thursday for thirsty Thursday, it was a really good time. We bought our own drinks but they had a nice bar with a variety of drinks should you need it. The receptionist/assistant Rene was super nice and helpful. Parking is located in the back, it's a little tricky as it's on a hill but still all good. We really enjoyed ourselves, the art boss was great she assisted me with my master piece, and the music was a vibe definitely will be back. read more

Booked a glow in the dark paint class. They Cancelled class less than 2 hrs before the class started! Was looking forward to it cause it was my birthday plans! How you gonna cancel 2 hrs before!? She reminded our group that our paintings don't have to mirror hers exactly, which is something most of us try (and fail) to do on paint n sips. I attended a paint & sip class for a friend's birthday. The vibes were immaculate. Everyone had a great time. We danced, enjoyed drinks, made art and the owner even surprised our party with cupcakes! Was so excited to love this place, the Instagram looked cute, its minority owned, and a local DTLA small business. Checking all the boxes. So I book some tickets for my boyfriends 29th birthday. Come night of: We are rushing over to the place- people are moving slow because it's this crazy rain storm here in LA. We rush to find parking, but there is none, and get stuck in their back alley (which I've never seen a dirt alley like that in all of LA). We arrive at 7:45 on the dot (checked my phone because I knew about the grace period). The door is locked and we see a guy inside on his phone and 2 easels set up. We get excited because we thought we are getting a private lesson. The guy looks at us through the door and walks away (mind you it's still raining hard). He brings back a woman who is the instructor for the night. She apologizes and says there is a 15 min grace period, we say it's his birthday. And there was just no budging- just a satirically depressing way to end a birthday celebration. Locked out of our own night out, not even let inside to talk. Unfortunately- I think they lost my business. read more

Our paint and sip parties are the perfect interactive experience for any and every occasion! Whether you're celebrating a birthday, having a cute date night or just looking for a fun night out, you are guaranteed to get exactly the fun you're looking for! You'll be guided by a professional art instructor, walking you through step by step to create your own masterpiece! Our classes are usually 2.5 hours and all art supplies (16x20 canvases, 11x20 canvases for kids parties, table easels, acrylic paints, aprons and brushes) are included for each participant. There is a cash bar available, but this is also a BYOB, so come ready to pop bottles, dance, engage in great conversation and leave with some new and improved art skills!

After making a reservation for one of their classes and being let into the building you can look around and see how much of this space is made for building, crafting, and designing. With classes spanning from ceramics to stained glass it is a safe space to let your creativity run wild or be instructed. The instructors are young and teach in a way that welcomes questions without judgment. They encourage your creativity but also provide gentle direction along the way. With supplies provided if you are a novice learning a craft it is an artistic adventure without the cliff falls of expenses weighing you down. If you take their classes that last a few weeks or a month it also gives you access to come and go to create at your own pace. Element Art Center is a wonderful time whether you're doing a solo trip or being social with others. This is the kind of business that bring traffic to a neighborhood and help sustain it. Hopefully, more spaces for art will pop down the line in Chinatown but for now, it's fantastic we have Element Art Center to hold it down.

One of the things that made this theater special was the full-service experience. The 80s movie-themed atmosphere, extensive food and drink menu, and attentive servers made it feel like much more than a typical theater. Recently, they've switched to online ordering, and it has really changed the experience. Instead of quickly looking through a menu and placing an order with a server, you can end up spending much of the 30-minute pre-show period staring at your phone. That defeats part of the reason I come here in the first place. I've also noticed that the menu has been scaled back significantly. Some of my favorite items, including the breakfast sandwiches and other offerings, have disappeared. I used to recommend this theater not only because of its movie-loving atmosphere but also because of the quality and variety of the food. I don't come here for standard movie-theater snacks. I come for the great food, good beer and cocktails, nostalgic atmosphere, and overall experience. If the new ownership continues cutting back on what made this place unique, they risk losing loyal regulars. At that point, I might as well go to AMC if I'm just looking for typical movie-theater food. I've always loved Alamo Drafthouse because it offered something different from other movie…read moretheaters. The no-phone policy and retro, old-school movie experience made it feel like you were truly there to enjoy the film and be present in the moment. The paper menus and traditional ordering system added to that experience and helped make every visit feel special. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was disappointing. Alamo has switched to QR code ordering on your phone, which completely takes away from the phone-free atmosphere that made this theater stand out in the first place. My boyfriend and I don't get to go to the movies often, so we were really looking forward to that classic Alamo experience. Instead, it felt like just another theater asking guests to be on their phones. The service also felt very impersonal. The servers seemed robotic, simply dropping off items and walking away. We were given drinks without straws, and there was very little interaction or attention to detail. The drinks themselves were honestly not good at all. I also ordered chicken tenders and fries and was surprised to learn that dipping sauces cost extra. While 50 cents isn't a huge amount, it feels odd that sauce isn't included with a meal like that. The movie itself was great, but what made Alamo special wasn't just the movie... it was the overall experience. Sadly, that unique feeling seems to be fading. I hope they reconsider some of these changes because they're starting to lose the magic that made so many people choose Alamo over other theaters.
