I recently took my SQ5 in for an oil change and I'm happy with the overall experience. Jason did a thorough inspection of the car providing pics of everything including the oil change and caught the start of a coolant leak (really appreciate this since I was able to get it addressed before it got worse). Jason used to own a MINI speciality shop in San Francisco, and has tons of experience with them as well as Audi, BMW, and Honda. I am going to park my car for up to a year, wanted to do any service that would be required. Talked to JP who seemed like a straight shooter, very knowledgeable. Ended up getting oil change, CVT fluid, brake fluid. JP also recommended inflating tires to near their maximum pressure, informed me of the limits of my tires. He has a clean, organized shop. A brief update. Recently Jason worked on my car for several days. There were issues that had existed years ago, I could see from the former owner's repair info and had never been resolved...despite a lot of money being spent, with nothing to show for it.. I could have let it go, the car still ran OK, but I knew it wasn't running well and Jason explained that it was better to take care of it now - and deal with some things preemptively, so I could drive in peace for the next 50K miles knowing the car was in excellent shape. He did the work. After this, he knows my car better than my GP at Kaiser knows my health. It drives like a 911, alas it's only an 11 year old GTI with 55k miles. It wasn't cheap, but it has given the car new life..a complete difference from before. And, if you are in need of a longer term payment plan, he accepts Klarna, which will let you pay over a number of months. To sum it up, Jason - after owning one of the top rated engine repair and service shops in san Francisco, has relocated here to San Rafael. You want to save some money, go to Eazy Lube or Tony's fix it shop. You want to sleep soundly knowing that your car is ready to go anywhere you want to take it...JP is the place. read more
