I had recently had an unplanned meeting between my raised hatchback and a tree, resulting in nasty dent in the hatch rendering it unable to close, so I was looking for some estimates to repair it. I walked in the office and was immediately greeted by a polite fellow who said he'd send someone right out to look at it. The other fellow came out, was as polite and friendly as could be, and I told him I just wanted to fix it enough to be able to close, could not afford a big fancy repair right now. He went inside, came out with a tool/device, had the other fellow help him and pulled the dent from my car, smoothed it out with a mallet and said " there you go!" I was thrilled and when I asked how much I owed he said, " Don't worry about it. Have a merry Christmas." I was stunned. If I ever DO need a fancy repair or any other work done on my car this is absolutely where I will go. The old fashioned good neighbor small town customer service fairy DOES exist. Both my husband and I were stranded with our truck and travel trailer along hwy 99. I have AAA and couldn't get them to find anyone to get my trailer. My truck was no problem but I pay premium for trailer towing. My husband was left on the side of the freeway by the tow driver who AAA assigned to pick up our truck. He was in a Un-safe spot but he didn't want to leave our trailer behind until AAA found a towing company who could tow it. Unfortunately AAA doesn't have many contracted towing companies to work with, which left my husband there for 4+ hrs. The lady at Mach one towing stopped to see if my husband was OK and if he needed water. It was above and beyond what a typical towing company would do but she knew how scared I was for my husband out there on the freeway. They don't deal with AAA but she was on stand by just in case AAA couldn't find anyone. We almost paid out of pocket to use them and at the last minute AAA found someone in Sacramento. It's not something I would EVER want to deal with again and has taught me a lot about the issues with dealing with AAA. I would gladly use Mach one in the future and pay out of pocket for towing anytime.
