Have you ever gone somewhere in the place never changes I mean, they might've upgraded some things here and there but that Hometown feel and that laughter and that delicious food. Well it hasn't changed. There's just some places that you want to visit over and over again when you've been away so long and this one is it it kind of reminds me of cheers better than cheers. Service! Service service! The Friday night crew is awful. Sat at a dirty table for over 10mins as one server walked by us twice and completely ignored us as she handed another table menus immediately as they walked in. We have spent so much money at this place, we love the food and games, just the service sucks! We really love one bartender but he must've been off tonight, bummer. We left and went to the Underground Kitchen, yummmm btw. Id recommend hiring people that like people, not walk around looking mean & uninviting. If this was the first time I'd maybe overlook the situation, but maybe the right person will read this and hopefully change it up. read more

Solid spot to shoot some pool for free on Sundays. Food is fresh and good. Came with a group and we had a blast for the Seahawks game that sent them to the Super Bowl! I am leaving this review based on a serious incident that occurred during my visit. During many visits, specific staff has been very unprofessional and aggressive. This time, the behavior escalated into an unsafe situation. An employee physically grabbed an aluminum can from my hand, which resulted in many cuts. Not once was I asked to leave prior to this and if she would've said I needed to leave and to hand over the drink she had JUST served me, I absolutely would have. This did not happen. I have witnesses. The reason for the aggression was because I said out loud " I miss how this place used to be". Apparently that gave her the right to physically assault me. I had to contact law enforcement as a result of what occurred. The manager as well as the owner do nothing to protect the patrons that have spent thousands of dollars, but they will protect the abusive staff and not review video footage when patrons try to make a formal complaint. This situation, and many others, were not handled professionally. There appears to be a pattern of aggressive handling of customers, including frequent removals from the establishment under unclear circumstances. read more

We really loved this place but last night was a complete disappointment. My husband and I were meeting another couple there for dinner and drinks. When we walked in, there was a dog on a leash near the bar, my friend being a huge dog lover and also recovering from a recent hip surgery, hobbled over to excitedly pet the dog. From there, us ladies headed to the restroom while our husbands found a table. When we returned from the bathroom, our husbands told us that the waitress refused to serve my friend because she was "drunk". We hadn't even started drinking yet as we had just arrived, and apparently an excited attitude and a limp from hip surgery was enough for her to determine she was drunk and could not be served. Sadly they misunderstood, but hadn't even spoken to her yet. We won't be going back. read more

Wasn't crowded since we went on a night where there was snow but seemed like it too forever for our server to come over and ask what we wanted to drink. It was pretty quiet so easy for us to talk among ourselves. They have a very wide range of selections on the menu, something for everyone and the prices are mid range, although I thought $28 for salad and a glass of wine to be a bit much. I had an Asian chicken salad and it said it came with a Thai chili dressing. I asked the server about how spicy it was since my mouth likes the heat, my stomach not so much. She said no worries. Sorry but she was incorrect. The salad was literally swimming in the dressing which was so spicy I could hardly eat it. My friend got a philly cheese steak and fries which she said was fair. Another got a burger and tots and said the burger was very good. Every sandwich and burger comes with a choice of sides and they did have several to choose from. Its ok, not wonderful and given the number of tap rooms we'll try a different place next time read more

Been here numerous times since my initial visit. The food has always been good. They have daily specials and a nice happy hour food menu. Spacious and filled with locals. The biggest issue is service. Servers are slow, inattentive and sometime visibly irritated with customers. If the food wasn't as good I would rate it 3-3.5. read more

Definitely a neighborhood pub, out of the way.. but pretty fun. The food goes beyond traditional pub food and had a lot of recommendations. I stuck with the smash burger.. beautifully done and so juicy. Served with some delicious steak fries. My friend had the chicken Alfredo, which he said was very delicious. I heard that on Mondays the smash burger is only 8 bucks.. so I may go back for one at an incredible price. Everything else was great, price, friendly wait staff and all that. read more

We enjoy this place! Although not here for the sportball viewing, we come for the great happy hour, food, and great service. Love that they have their own selection of beers, this time I had the red ale, which was great! This particular trip we came in specifically for the prime rib. Of course we could have stopped after having ordered all the appetizers that we did, but you know who could! The portion for the price is certainly worth it. Loved the mashed potatoes! The food is good. Building is old with low ceilings and could use an upgrade inside. Lots of regulars who surround the bar. Kinda makes you feel a little weird at 1st, they all look at you like who the F is this in my bar. But once you get past that moment it's cool. I don't drink often so I usually just get food to go and when I don't order a drink the regulars look stunned lol. Not sure about the rewards system. I have no idea how many I have or if they are accurate. Been going there for about 5 years so I should have a good amount. If it was updated inside and the regulars didn't create that feeling when you walk in then it would get 5 stars. read more

We stopped by for happy hour on a Friday. Bar was fu but we were able to snag a table. We haven't been back since it was Lollies. Same layout but better decor for sure! They were also selling Girl Scout cookies. This girl was cleaning up! Great idea. We got Mac n cheese, sliders, and a giant pretzel. Mac n cheese was creamy and i loved that they used orecchiette pasta. It holds the sauce so well. Hubs got the sliders and he liked them. He said the wagu was nice. All around good slider. This bar has been a staple in the community so it's important that the people they hire are respectful to the customers that have been coming for well over 20 years. I've never had issues at this bar. I've seen so many people come and go from this bar. The food is always on point, the drinks are made great, pool tables, good amount of space. But this particular night was weird. The bartender almost completely ignored me but made sure to address my boyfriend. Even given him suggestions on what to order. When my bf ordered his food, I also order mine. But he only brought my bf's food. He never ever even put mine in. We waited and waited and when my bf was going to tell him about it, I said forget it, let's just pay and go. His food was good, our drinks were good, but that service was terrible. It would be 1 star for that. But because I've been here before and I know what this bar is all about. I'll give it 3. I'm sure I'll be there again soon and will update the review. read more

Been here a handful of times and every time, I've had the same friendly service from several different servers each time. Plenty of beer taps to choose from, pull tabs if you dare, two pool tables and two dart boards. If you want to catch a game, most likely it's in one of the many TV's placed around the restaurant. Very diverse crowd who seem to enjoy each other's company. Food is pretty damn good if I do say so myself. Ordered the pepperoni pizza and was glad I was going to have left overs. What a hidden gem JP's Tavern is! I'm not sure how we've missed JP's the last 10 years, but I'm glad we finally found it. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. It was obvious that many of the patrons were regulars and knew each other. Folks made the rounds, saying hello or goodbye, the entire time we were here. We were looking for a new Happy Hour place and JP's fit the bill perfectly. We had clam chowder and a Ceasar from the HH menu followed by fish and chips and the Friday special, bacon-wrapped meatloaf. Everything was so delicious. This place is okay. One of my friends recommended for us to try it and I think it was over hyped. When we sat at the first table by the back door, we looked to our left and there was a disgusting amount of little flies swarming around in one area, which should have been our first sign or leave. Instead we switched tables. I ordered the Buffalo wings, which had a weird after-taste to them. I'm not sure if it was the oil they were cooked in, or the buffalo sauce itself. The wings were $13 on happy hour. I believe it came with 8 wings, I only ate 2. The Caesar salad was delicious, we got it for $5 on their happy hour menu. Their drinks were okay. I ordered a Malibu & Coke, which was watered down. My friend ordered a Shirley Temple and the sprite was flat. However, they did make an effort to fix the dispenser and give her the drink again, but that was flat as well. I wasn't impressed by this place at all. Surprisingly there were quite a bit of people in there. I just couldn't get past the flies & the wings. When I was hired, the tavern was going through a revamp to encourage improvements in customer service and hospitality and I've seen amazing things through this bar. It's love for people, food, and great staff has been a source of energy for me to continue working in a fast paced setting. They have game nights during the week, and lots of TV's for the games. They are part of the Hi-Yu-He-Hee partnership, so all their food is locally sourced, made from scratch, and the cooks skills really shine! We haven't had a single thing we didn't like. Back to one of our favorite bars/restaurants in the Federal Way area. It provided another fun night of carbonated shuffleboard, good food, and great service (thanks Lewis). Our wings were hot, crunchy, moist and provided just the right level of heat. The Rueben Sliders were tasty, and the Ranch Chicken Burger my son's favorite. The 16 ounce PBR's are reasonably priced and keep the shuffleboard well lubricated. Great neighborhood bar. Can't imagine a trip to Federal Way without a stop here. read more
