I used to go to the Time Out years ago when working in the area. Recently my friends and I decided to go for a few beers and play pool, so we stopped in at the Time Out. Service is always great here and the servers seem seasoned and professional. They always follow up and come back when promised, and do so with a smile. Prices are great, considering the recent inflation in our country. We've tried the burgers and were very tasty with a good sized order of fries to accompany them. The pizza was just ok. Our latest visit was a Saturday afternoon, and while not at capacity, they were doing a fairly brisk business. A bit of confusion when the server dropped our bill off to us before we were finished. After a bit of follow up with her, we finally realized her shift was ending at 5 and wanted us to cash out. We did pose some resistance to this idea of closing our tab at first, as we were still playing pool and drinking, so she was slightly perturbed with us. A clearer communication of the fact would have avoided all of that. Still a fun place to hang out and I'm sure we'll be back. read more

A hidden gem for sure if you are looking for a place to bring your group and have great food, strong drinks, friendly service, and a SMALL bill. I'm serious! Went last night for a soccer game with a pretty large group. First it took about 25min for our food order to be taken, we tried to grab the servers attention various times but to no success. Once we finally pinned her down she refused to take our order because in her words other tables were priority. We had to almost beg for orders to be taken and even when taken we received a horrible look and attitude from the servers. First time al this place and it was pretty good. The food was great and our waitress was on point. Got to watch a couple of games and the atmosphere was very chill. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because when I walked in with my family, we stood there waiting for someone to sit us down and after 10 minutes, I asked a waitress if someone could help us and she said we had to sit ourselves down which is fine if they had a sign up saying that or if someone would have told us. So I have now been here at least 8 times over the last 9 years. Every meal & dining experience has been wonderful. Went today with 2 girlfriends for lunch. Our server Nikki was fantastic. She took care of our beverage orders promptly and then took our food orders. I got the San Francisco Melt sandwich. It was delicious but messy. The guacamole, tomatoes and BBQ aioli sauce made it pretty wet. I would order it again without the guacamole and aioli sauce. Friend #1 ordered the fish and chips and she liked them except the coleslaw was a little overdressed. Friend #2 had the Blue Cheese Burger and she liked it except that she thought it was missing enough blue cheese. I have done previous reviews mentioning that I wish they were closer to where I live and I still feel the same way. I think the U-District area would greatly benefit from a restaurant like this. A clean & comfortable restaurant with lots of TV's and great food is a winner in my book. read more

Great food, poor service. I ordered a sandwich with three sides expecting to get the sides at the prices listed in the sandwich section on the menu. The waitress charged the full regular menu price for all three sides when she brought the bill. When I questioned her about it she said that she "forgot" to tell me that customers are only allowed one side at the sandwich side price - she did not even charge the lower price for one of the sides. She got an attitude I didn't appreciate when questioned about the overcharges. I regret that I tipped her at all. I also regret not asking to speak with a manager at the time. While the waitress removed the onion rings, she never put any of the sides down to the listed sandwich side price, and I still ended up paying $6.00 more than I would have if the three sides were charged as they were listed above the sandwiches on the menu. Here's the math expected bill for sides at sandwich side prices I ordered as listed on the menu: House Salad +$1.99 Bowl of Soup + $2.99 Onion Rings +$1.99 = $6.97 Initial bill: $6.49 + $6.49 + $8.99 = $21.97 I went with a friend who is reluctant to go back due to the negative experience with the waitress overcharging AND having a bad attitude. read more

GREAT place to get beers, good selection and they have pitchers which is a big plus for beer drinkers. They have a huge menu, maybe too big, but overall the food has been good. Great soft pretzel, great burgers, great salads, the pizza is just ok, WAY too much garlic. The service is usually great, but can be a bit slow at peak times. Great place, but they would create more revenue for themselves by either lowering all drink prices by 25% or just by having a daily drink special. What a nice surprise for a sportsy bar atmosphere, no frills. Decor is what you'd expect for a pull-tab kinda place, lots of tv's, lots of tables and booths, and even a pool table. You go here looking for bar food. What I did not expect was a cauliflower pizza option that was crispy, tasty and filling. They have a good menu, lots of bar food options, even half sandwich options for lighter eaters, AND a number of pizzas which you can chose to get on a cauliflower crust. Makes me feel less guilty about indulging on a Tuesday. Staff was wonderfully friendly, quick and knowledgeable. We'll for sure be back. When picking up a carryout order there's no signage and no defined way to do that. Stopped in for a late after a play dinner/snack, still a very busy place after 10 on a Saturday night. Being a sports bar and grill, there were plenty of TVs all around, along with a few pool tables and dart board. Quite a few people enjoying their Friday night. Quickly found a table near the pool table, which wasn't the most optimal location, as sone of the pool players didn't seem to have a clue about space, just how much space they could occupy without actually touching anyone. A little disconcerting to say the least. Server was quick to bring menus and drinks, a great selection of pub and grill food and full bar offered. Orders were quickly filled and the cheeseburger ordered was a thick hamburger patty, lots of cheese, lettuce and tomato, plenty to satisfy a late night hunger. Plenty of fries in the side as well. Food was delicious, service, and overall atmosphere for a late night was great. The only downer, other than pool table etiquette was the odd dude that went out to what I assume was the designated smoking area outside and starred in through the window which was directly next to the table... total lack of any social manners and made it uncomfortable to be there. Really?!? Is what's going on inside that important? I recommend the grill as a great place for food, drinks, and sports watching, just be discerning about where you sit. Men are non confrontational but i'm not! My husband & his friends attend this place regularly. However they went to celebrate a birthday & were met with a rude & yelling manager for absolutely no reason. The nice waitress let them know she's leaving & they can cash out with her if they are done OR will roll over the tab for the next waitress. They chose to roll over their tab because they weren't leaving yet. The manger came out completely yelling at them that it's disrespectful & rude to not cash out with the waitress that's been serving them all night - they all agreed but again were not given the option to cash out AND THEN get another waitress and open another tab. It was either cash out now if they are done or stay and rollover to the next waitress. She didn't even give them a chance to explain & just came at them yelling. Like girl, everyone is agreeing with you & great for sticking up for your staff but the nice waitress didn't really explain it so they chose based on what they were told. They then cashed out with their current waitress & not a single person came to take over & serve them again. read more
