No way these reviews are accurate. I was charged $40 just for him to tell me what I told him was wrong with my car. My tcs and abs light is on and I told him that I knew it was with a speed sensor and I wanted to know what was wrong exactly because I changed the speed sensor. JR told me to bring my car back another day to find out the problem. So what did I pay $40 for? For him to tell me it was a speed sensor, that I already knew. Seriously that was ridiculous. Judging from the reviews he has mostly Hispanic customers who must charge less. I mean even the receptionist doesn't speak English. So if you aren't Hispanic be prepared to be charged more or given the run around. After he told me the "issue" he kept insinuating that it was going to take long to figure out the problem and I told him i don't mind because I have nothing to do. He kept repeating it to the point where I said do you want me to another day? And he said yes. So his whole thing was to get me to come another day to charge more. It was gonna be $75 an hour to find the problem + the actual cost of fixing, which he said could take more than a day, more $$. That has never happened to me. Most mechanics find the problem and then tell you the cost of fixing. The sign on his wall says $20 for diagnostic so why was I charged $40? Never will I ever step foot in his shop! This was real discouraging. I have no problem with paying nor tipping anyone! But dammit don't rip me off! If you want your car checked for free try out Eduardo's down the street or nation auto right next door. They will find the problem and not charge you, not Charge you to find the problem. read more

Took in my 1970 Chevelle SS in for a radiator flush and an oil change today. I couldn't be happier with the service that we recieved! So much so, that this has become the mechanic shop that will continue to work on her. Everyone was extremely friendly and they took extreme care of my girl. I was referred to them by a friend of a gal I worked with who knew I was looking for honesty, reliable work, and affordability. My car has 235,000 miles on it. I drive it a minimum of 100 miles a day for my job, and I can say that it's thanks to JR's phenomenal diagnostic and mechanical repair skill that the car I love so much is still running like a top. He's not he kinda mechanic to make you replace parts that don't need to be replaced. Throughout the years mechanic Jose & his wife have been 100% honest with me and the issues related to my vehicles. Even when it comes to shopping around for prices they always come in cheaper then the competitors in the area. I am always reluctant to trust yelp. This time they were 100% right. The people who work here are honest and trustworthy. I took my car to a mechanic who charged me 100 dollars and told me to get a new car. He did not fix the original issue. When I arrived at this shop they were able to resolve my issue within a few hours. They also assisted me to get a new battery that was under warranty. My car is running great now! I usually never write reviews on yelp, but I felt the need to write one for this place. I've been to JR a few times for oil changes and various issues. He's very honest and really wants to help you find out what's going on with your car. My car was making a weird noise and stalling, he drove it around for a while to listen to it and then drove with me after the work was done to show me the noise was gone. Prices are extremely reasonable and he won't try to make you pay for anything you don't need. Definitely recommend! read more

My brother in law suggested JR in 2010. I started taking our cars to him soon after that. I kept returning because I regularly found other shops telling me I needed things (like brakes) when in fact they were not needed at all. His prices seem in line with others but he does not try to sell me what I don't need. Perhaps the best example was when we were going to give our 2000 Bonneville to our son. We had JR examine the car with instructions to "fix what's needed." He found less than $75 in in needed repairs. That's an honest shop. read more
